####The weather had grown much colder, but it did not bother the malamute-shepherd mixed man. This was, of course, the weather that he was much more used to than many others in the pack, since this was the weather frequent to the area of Alaska surrounding his old pack. While others, such as their King and Dauphine, were bothered by such cold weather, the Constable was very comfortable in it and did not think anything of it. His thick fur covered him in both his dog and shifted form, so Vigilante saw no reason that he should not walk around on two legs, despite by the heavily falling snow. His journey to the city had been cold, but nothing compared to the bitter cold he had been raised in. The outcome of this trip would be worth it, though, as he was coming to look for more pieces of metal to work with. So far, he had not made anything interesting, but he was becoming much more comfortable with the tools and the way that the metal complied to his wishes. Soon, he would make something useful, perhaps for Ayita. He had not seen her, or her children, for a few weeks, but he planned to remedy this soon.

####The house he found himself in now had quite a lot of human furnishings, just as his own did, but it was interestingly decorated mostly in shades of red. The walls were a deep red color, similar to the color of blood, which made him somewhat uneasy, and the carpet almost matched in color. The furnishings were black and red also, a vibrant shade that almost hurt his eyes. On the way to this house, he had passed by a garage that reeked of blood, though the scent was old. Unknown to him, as he had passed by quickly, there had been a fight close by not too long ago, a coyote and wolf side by side. Even he knew the prejudice between coyotes and wolves, and if he had known the circumstances of that fight (or even that it had existed), Vigilante may have been a bit astonished by what had happened there. Thankfully, he was not forced to be a part of such a long standing feud, as his blood was a mix of pure dog breeds, years and years of pedigree breeding before the pack started, many years before the downfall of humans.

####The only reason he had decided to enter this house was because he had seen many metal objects hanging on the walls through the big window in the front by the door. It seemed as if the human that had lived here had been some sort of art collector, judging by the tangles the metal hung everywhere. Frankly, Vigilante did not find them at all aesthetically pleasing, but the humans did have strange tastes, and he knew that they could be heated over a fire to become pliable. Standing in what had been the owner’s bedroom, the mutt ran his fingers along a particularly interesting piece hanging over the bed. It was made up of only two straight pieces, one lying across the other perpendicularly, with a small, metal figurine of a human man with tiny nails in both hands and one in his feet. It was very bizarre, and it sent shivers up his spine. Something about it gave him the creeps, and the appearance of the house and its few rooms was not helping.
