Vieira pulled back slowly when Kaena spoke and she could not help but wag her tail behind her. It was short and not very enthusiastic, but it was enough to show her thanks for the praise. The slave had been able to calm Kaena down from her answer and prevent herself getting hurt and if she could keep things calm, it would be good for all of them. For a while, she had been able to please Astaroth and keep him at bay with his abuse and violence. Sometimes it was inevitable and he was just too angry to avoid, regardless of her actions of having done something or not. She had not been able to do the same with Sivaro and her time with Eris was short and far between under her rule.

She was able to step forward and continue her work when Kaena stepped away from her, shook, and spoke again. Her ears swiveled to the top of his head slowly in a curious thought. Her jaw tightened and resisted the urge to ask, but the elder's voice sounded a little suggestive and wanting to be asked. "How do you mean, miss Kaena?" the woman asked quietly and her ears fell back against her head as if she were not meant to ask. Her head rested below her shoulders and her knees bent slightly. Her former owners had not liked being spoken to often and especially did not like being asked questions of other things. Over the last few weeks, Vieira had begun to pick on Kaena's way of speaking to her and her odds and ends.

Unfortunately, it did not change much. The woman was too scarred to change her ways but she found it possible to slip once in a while. It did not cause the same reaction for her when she had asked about her mother to Astaroth. He was malicious and vulgar the entire time. Vieira regretted asking. Her eyes became half lidded when she thought of this and waited for Kaena's reaction or answer to her question.
