After parting ways with Colibri earlier in the afternoon he'd been left with some damn interesting things to think about. He certainly hadn't expected to hear news of Haku this far from Dahlia or Inferni, and though the tales were enough to turn his stomach, he appreciated being up to date and informed. It wasn't as if he could do anything with what he learned, or even that he should necessarily care, but this was gossip he would not soon forget and he genuinely felt bad for the girl. His original intention of visiting the lake-side pack (vague as it had been) was yet to be fulfilled, however, and he found himself loitering about just the same.

He was just about to give up and go home when a sound caught his attention. A young pup was crashing through the barren forest towards him when a call sounded, the child stopped, and then retreated. His ears pressed forward as he watched the young boy go--his eyes had reminded him strongly of Ghita's. Could this be one of the children? He racked his brain quickly for a name and came up with two, one of which was distinctly more masculine than the other. "Aro?" he tried, voice gentle and posture already low. Whoever had called for the child had been an adult, and Anselm knew all too well he didn't look like the sort of stranger folks wanted their kids around.

Extreme times called for extreme measures. His tail tucked beneath him and he lowered himself to the cold earth, chest pressed against the ground though he was hardly reclining on his side. At the first sign of trouble, the coiled spring would release and he'd fly off into the forest. He supposed if things got screwy enough he could call for Ghita or Savina, but he sincerely hoped it wouldn't come to that.
