For a moment Rikka turned to look out over the bay, admiring the way the water and moon went together. It was a beautiful sight, one that seemed strangely out of place in the lands of the clan. A silent sigh was given to the air as she looked up at the pale face that reflected the light of the sun. “Do either of us fit here?” She had thought that maybe releasing that question to the universe would make her feel lighter, or even better; give her some kind of cosmic answer. Nothing came to her though. No breath of wind, not even the lapping of a wave. Not even Mother Nature knew if that question could be answered. It was something she would just have to discover for herself.

The hybrid turned back around and threw some of the blankets on top of the pile into the cave. She’s throw them all as far in as she could before she crawled inside to try and arrange them. The approach of another failed to reach her until the voice cut through the empty night like a knife. Her head turned to the source, hair whipping around in the sudden movement. It was a male, much more coyote than she. Why was he frowning? Frowns were still strange and foreign expressions to her. “Hey,” she responded. “What’s happening?” It seemed he wanted something, though what that something was she wasn’t sure. People who moved with such dead purpose always seemed to have their mind fixed on something.
