One of his eyes squinted at her as if he were trying to solve some sort of puzzle. She stood stock still, feeling a little bit self conscious at being scrutinized so openly. Being such a black sheep as she was she was used to being judged, but not quite so obviously and from a complete and total stranger. It didn’t look like they were related though she knew that meant very little. She had been gone for so long and the Lykoi and de le Poer family trees were so extensive it was impossible to say for sure that they shared no common blood. He did look a good deal more coyote than the majority of her family however, so she took that as a fairly good indicator. Also if her name hadn’t immediately alerted him to how she was connected it probably meant that he wasn’t a member of Kaena’s brood. It seemed they all did a good job of knowing the names of even wayward family members here.

The name that he offered did not ring a bell and so she felt fairly secure in her assumption that they were not related. “Good to meet you Hybrid.” Old habits were hard to break and it would have been awfully rude of her to say that it wasn’t nice to meet him. He didn’t seem like the type that she would spend a lot of time with, but simple courtesy was a must with her unless someone did something severe to prove they didn’t deserve it. He stated his rank and it did not surprise her that he was a warrior type. The next question he posed caught her off guard however. “What do I do? Uhh, well, not really sure. Still kind of getting settled in.” She could have said that she was a pacifist that liked to smoke and sleep around, but somehow she doubted he would have found that as an appropriate answer.
