Snow seemed to mute the world. She was unsure whether or not she had ever experienced such tranquillity as the evening let the horizon darken and let the monsters of imagination come out and play. Her breath was steady and silent as she drifted like a materialized ghost through the seemingly glowing snow. No, she would find no invisibility here, but she was armed and she wanted to meet a member so that she could be pointed in the right direction. Her plan was not clear on that case. She only knew that she would kill Haku Soul tonight. The need to force his blood to go cold was consuming her. For once her hair had been shoved fully out of her face so that there would not be any hair falling into her vision. It had to be perfect. They spoke of Haku Soul like he was the devil himself. She would show them all that he was mortal like everyone else. He needed to pay for his sins.

A glimpse of motion in the distance and the sound of paws breaking through the upper crisp layer of the snow. Halo was elegance itself as she danced in behind a tree, pushing her body against the hard, cold object and controlling her breath. Her heart-pace wanted to pick up its speed in response of the sudden flow of adrenaline, but the girl closed her eyes momentarily and strived to remain the inner calm that was so important right there and then. Oversized ears swivelled as a hum floated into the cool winter’s air. The young woman’s heart skipped a beat when a realization hit her: she recognized that tune. The sound had been deep and vibrating from her comfortable spot by her ivory mother’s side. The sudden flash back wanted to draw tears into the hybrid’s ruby eyes. It was Halo’s lullaby from before the world turned into an ugly place. She had been happy back then. For a moment as she listened, that old feeling of contentment and love filled her troubled heart. The sensation hurt her.

Next was the well known rage. When the voice was close enough the young hybrid stepped out from her hiding place and glared at the white canine that dared to hum her wolfen mother’s favourite song. ”What’s that you're humming?” she asked, voice sharp, but at the same time pleading. She was stepping away from her planned route, but this was exceptional. Emotion ruled the girl like it ruled every creature with an enlightened consciousness. She had to know.
