His tongue bounced with every single one of his steps, and when his smaller brother excitedly reminded him that their treasure was near, he flashed his sibling a great, pearly smile and picked up the pace. The caves were right ahead now, and he hesitated at the mouth of them, in doubt for a second. What if they were dangerous? It certainly was dark in there... but Conor probably wouldn't be afraid to go in, so Emwe couldn't be afraid either. He could be no less than his brother, especially not when he was the one to lead them to this treasure. Though, in fact, he had never stepped foot inside these caves before. He just knew there had to be something cool at the end of such an awesome place. He'd looked inside once and saw that they were long roads inside the mountain, maybe like a hidden human city? Conor may read books, but Emwe was no less in his own mind, and looked at the pictures; he had understood some fundamentals of treasure-hunting. Treasures were always in secret and strange places, and these caves were both. There had to be something in there.

He stopped his tail from moving in the direction of his tummy, and boldly stepped inside the cave. He took several steps inside and turned to look at his brother, feeling the strange scents of this damp place and the rock between his toes. It smelled like the ocean! How peculiar. Smiling vaguely, he looked ahead into the cave with uncertainty; it was much darker in there than he'd expected. It had looked only a little dark when he was outside but it was clear that further in it was much darker than just a little dark. He wanted to ask his brother about it, but he didn't. Moving on, his eyes slowly adjusted to the little amount of light there was, before that, too, threatened to disappear into complete darkness. Night vision was no good where there was absolutely no light. "Conor.. are you there?" he said uncertainly. This wasn't as much of an adventure as he had thought it would be.
