Lillith had grown just the tiniest bit less vigilant. The only up side to the complete control that Haku and his whore held over their home now was just that: they thought they had complete control. They were growing too accustomed to the placid submission given by the former Rosea and her mate. It was daytime when Lillith slept, Cercelee had learned this but it had been hard to observe the woman who was constantly stalking her. It had taken weeks to figure out her methods and schedule, she had kept them dutifully hidden from the now Tilia, appearing whenever Cercelee left the home. Night was when the wolf was most active, watching, watching, watching. After Cercelee had discovered this, it made sense. Escapes were more likely at night, so Cercelee would have to do so in the day.

Finally, in the most hushed of whispers as they lay side by side, so still that they appeared sleeping, her face buried into his face so no one could see her lips moving, she explained it to him. The danger they were both in. The reasons for their demotions, Haku’s madness, and her now desire to abandon the pack to the demon. It was her own family or her pack, and the pack was no longer her’s. Slay did not answer as the white angel told him the plan. They would wake as normal, emerge from the house like always, and return, as always. Then, which was when Lillith slept, they would emerge again, silent as mousse, midday. Haku would hopefully and probably be out, and if they could get just yards before Lillith awoke, perhaps they would make it. Every second was precious as Cercelee, heavier than ever with her unborn pups, would run for their lives and Slay, if Lillith did wake and caught on, was instructed to hold back and inflict as much damage on the female as he could.

When it came time to run Cercelee almost froze. Mew, Alexey, Kol, Conor and Emwe would remain in Dahlia, subject to whatever Haku brought upon them without a word of warning from her, but she forced herself to abandon family and friends. Slay would stick with her, his choice was not as hard as her’s, she knew his loyalties had always been more with her than with Dahlia. Giving him a last glance, praying that if they did get separated now they would meet up before the birth of their children, which could have been any day now, it could have been today, she set off, her gait not nearly as swift as it once had been, but it was all the more desperate and her eyes were forward, not even knowing if Slay was still by her side. Once she got past the Aniwaya packlands there would be no danger, Haku would not waste his time knowing that she, coward and weakling, had chosen to remove herself.
