Pink tongue hung from his mouth, breaths expelled from his lungs rapidly. Minos breathed in and out with such haste as his yellow acid eyes looked out onto the gray ocean. It was not an unpleasant day, even if the water was attempting to attack him. Hackles had been instinctively raised at the fright the ocean caused, but while he stood still for a moment’s time they were smooth against his shoulders and back. Legs shuffled him backwards, tongue rolling to the side of his mouth, and then he ran to jump at the impending waves. He had yet to be swallowed by the ocean, toes touching the water slightly as he ran back to the dry sand. It was easy to scare it, Minos realized. Though it always rolled forward again with a furious roar and crash, it retreated just the same. The freshly named Dahlian hopped forward, paws sinking into the soft cold sand, and then hurriedly ran backwards once more as the water waved its rebuttal. The two moved in such a manner until a voice came to his ears.
The white beast turned suddenly, eyes darting to the maker of the sound. It was a muddle of a creature, not looking much like a wolf at all. Mino stood still, his ears playing turn and twist game as he fought to determine if the male was friend of foe. He did not smell of the pack, nor of the alpha or any other beast that he had come to smell. But the unmistakable odor of coyote lingered on his multi hued pelt, and the white beast knew not to trust their smell. The tall beast spoke again, and there was no hint of resentment towards the omega. Oddly. A whine escaped his lips, though Minos had been trying to keep from resorting to his submissive self in the midst of the stranger. The words extended to him fell weird without a response, and the white male remembered that he had been granted a tongue for a reason. “Why are you here?” the question came with no relation to the previous comments, and still the omega felt better knowing that some had been said in response.
