In Character

They had run the entire distance to the borders of Dahlia de Mai (save a few moments of pause), and Gabriel was now panting heavily, his left shoulder aching with that all too familiar wear that came with running long distances. It was a crippling weakness and he knew this, but for the time being it was meaningless. Samael’s body and grown, and given him more weight and size then his elder sibling. While there was an option for him to take on that same shape, Gabriel remained in his lupus body, knowing it was not mass that would save him from Haku. The man fought using such tactics, and Gabriel understood this. Samael was the one that would serve as the tank, as the brute force to wear down the blue-eyed devil. Gabriel would see him dead before the sun rose.

Samael’s body, large but still as black and sleek as oil, moved along the flowered pack’s borders as he sought the demon. Gabriel had allowed him to take the lead, and followed with a cat-like grace, keeping a few feet behind the blackened coyote. When they found Haku, Samael would not hesitate, and would not tarry or falter. Gabriel intended to see this happen, and strike when an opening was made. To rip the demon’s throat out, to crush his still beating heart, these were things he needed to see. Soon, and very soon, they would become reality. Haku’s scent was all around them, and it was growing more and more fresh as they moved deeper into the heart of Dahlia de Mai’s territory.
