Ears flattened against fluffed up chocolate and cream pelt and he understood what had happened. The sensation of liquid dancing down to the earth could easily enchant him, but it was his own and the way the holes in his arm had been inflicted was worrying and he now recognized the object in the girl’s hands. The bullets had dug into skin and flesh and he could feel his body pound together with his heart; pushing nerves over the edge where metal now rested in the flesh. Lips pulled back and he sneered at the newcomer, though stepping off the weak Inferni hybrid. The beast within roared together with the outer, but he backed away now; knowing that metal bullets could do more than merely inflict pain. He could detect a small limp and realized that he actually was hurt. The coppery hybrid with the strange clothing let the gun drop and suddenly had a long blade in her hands – now storming towards him. Deadly flames danced in the Dahlian alpha’s eyes, because this was foul play and unacceptable. He turned and darted in the opposite direction, not at all curious of how it would be to feel the sharp metal dig into his skin. He was not finished, not at all. He would come back.
