The coyote often wondered who would make it through and who would fall by the wayside; she had no doubt that Vitium had traveled to Dahlia de Mai. The dark-eyed child would want to inflict maximum punishment on his family if possible, and joining up with their most hated enemy was certainly a damn good way to do that. The silvery Centurion wondered how many of Inferni's own would survive the battles and fighting; she would keep Vieira much, much closer. War did not spare women, it did not spare one as soft and gentle as this creature here. Kaena did not understand that the gentleness of Vieira had been beaten into her, and it was just another symptom of the tawny woman's fear. Maybe it was that Vieira did not clearly evince just how screwed up in the head she was thanks to Astaroth, or maybe it was just that Kaena failed to discern it.
The silver-furred hybrid listened to the other woman's response and gave a slow nod, hesitating for a very long moment before she took an almost meek step forward, ducking into the alcove slowly, as if she feared startling the other coyote. At the tawny canine's movement and scrunching of the pillows, the Lupus coyote leaned forward to tug very gently with her teeth on one end of the blanket, doing her best to assist the other canine despite her awkward form. Fingers always made for easier handling of humanity's objects, and this was no exception. The coyote ceased that and settled down to her belly slowly, curling up beside the Quintus to add her warmth and comfort. Their fur touched, but the coyote was hesitant to move closer at first, not wishing to startle the other canine or stir her painful wounds. "You're welcome," she said softly, now regretting the possible sharpness she had shown to the smaller canine before. Vieira had only been doing what came naturally to her.
