Hezekiah's howl was the only indication of trouble at the borders. It was silent and tranquil where Hybrid was, some distance to the west. However, Hezekiah's howl cut into the quiet calmness of the forest. It was not long before Hybrid jumped to his feet was off running, bounding through the clanlands in his Secui form. He moved quickly along the border, searching for the intruding Dahlian forces. He knew the area quite well, both from his time as a member since the founding of the clan, and also from his frequent border patrols. Since the declaration of the war, Hybrid had increased the frequency of his patrols, always hoping to find a wandering Dahlia wolf he could attack. Now was the day he could protect Inferni and get his bloodshed, too. Hybrid grinned wickedly as he continued loping toward the unknown enemies.

He arrived to find a tan and black wolf atop a horse swinging a strange pointy stick — sort of what he had seen Halo practising with — at the intruders. Hybrid rolled his eyes, wishing some real fighters would show up so they could actually engage the intruders in battle. Hybrid continued running, knowing if he stopped, he would lose all of the momentum he'd built up. Instead, he continued on, charging at any one of the three intruders. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the dark brown form of the traitor. He snarled and continued to charge toward the nearest wolf, leaping at him with his jaw wide and fangs bared so he could tackle the enemy to the ground. He would pay for trespassing. Hybrid hoped all three of these filthy creatures — the traitor especially — would pay dearly for their transgressions against the coyote clan. They would soon see why Inferni had survived for so long.
