It was terribly rude of her not to answer his questions, something that resulted in Nala staring at her blankly, unsure of what to do now that she had rejected any of his attempts at finding out why she was there. He had called for Anselm, of course, and the golden male would surely know what to do about the young wolf at their borders. In the uncomfortable silence that followed his call for Anselm and his own questions to the young girl, the coyote allowed his eyes to settle on the skulls, still finding them to be very discomforting. He was not able to think of why the clan would want to decorate their borders with skulls. . . He couldn't be the only one they creeped out! That was highly unlikely, he was sure.

When Anselm finally arrived, Nala wagged his tail happily, yipping in greeting while the leader went off at the girl, very loudly. His ears flattened against his skull, as he had not anticipated Anselm's reaction and he had not heard anyone yell like that since his brothers. His sisters had been just as cruel, but they were less apt to yell in such a way. Generally, they were the ones who came up with the schemes to do things to him, while his brothers had been the ones to actually implement the actions, cruel laughter ringing in his ears and taunting smiles on their faces. Nala did not like thinking about his siblings, especially when someone else was yelling. It was too much for his simple mind to handle, but at least he was able to distinguish the difference between Anselm and his absent siblings. That was a good thing, anyway, very useful.

Luckily, something pulled his attention away from the awful thoughts of his siblings. Golden eyes glared at the ebony pup as he whined, unhappy with such an accusation. "We do not! Right, Anselm, right?" He turned, as if waiting for an actual confirmation that they did not, in fact, deserve to die. "You aren't supposed to be here!" he repeated, mild distress entering his tone. Nala did not like the girl's way of coming where she wasn't supposed to be and accusing his leader of having the need to die. It did not register in his mind that this could be related to the surrounding war, and he probably would have been more unhappy, in that case.
