Sorry for the wait!

Mati’s soft purple eyes traced Silas’ frame and he was aware – perhaps she was looking for more indications of the fight he had clearly gotten into. She wouldn’t find any other apparent injuries, though the boy’s chest had ached a few days after the incident. Either way, a small flurry built in the youth’s stomach with her passing glance. He felt slightly judged, but his only thoughts were on the hope that he had passed whatever mental test it was that Mati had given him. Her lack of enthusiasm in her words made him think otherwise. Perhaps she could read him and see what he had been up to since their last meeting. Perhaps she knew he was a murderer.

Still, Silas was glad to hear that Mati was okay. It wasn’t the answer he had been searching for, but at least she hadn’t said that all in her world was going wrong. He merely nodded, black strands falling in front of his blue eyes, as he decided not to pry. Though the Russian was clearly capable of over stepping his boundaries, he was trying to realize when the time was right for prying and when it wasn’t.

"Mine family?" A genuine smile then greeted his features as he thought of Anatoliy. Somehow Silas’ brother had found himself aboard a ship destined for the Americas and wound up in Halifax. It hadn’t even been a week since the third Russo’s arrival. "Vell, not zhe ones ve vere looking for, but mine brozher… ve found him een Halifax a few days ago." It was a rather nice reunion, though Silas would have preferred if his mother had been alongside Anatoliy. A few fingers brushed back the hair from his face as he studied Mati’s own soft locks. "And vhat of Crimson Dreams? Anyzhing new?"
