In Character

There was certainly a sense of failure within Sicarus; even with Vitium's aid they had been unable to inflict any serious damage on Inferni other than to smash a few of their decorations and to maybe give one or two of them an injury that would sit them down and vitiate their combat abilities for a few days, but they had been unable to return with a wolf's head for Haku. The tawny-furred werewolf twirled the knife in his hand, remaining silent—Kai didn't seem too keen on speaking; he made a monosyllabic noise
that passed for an answer and went to scratch himself.

The tawny furred werewolf was grateful for the fire; prior to their sparking of it he was very nearly inconsolable. The freezing temperatures made his very bones ache, and it certainly wasn't doing his fresh injuries any favors. The Circèe spoke, his words drawing drawing Sic's attention. “Yeah.” he said, his own voice quieted. “Haku will figure it out, though.” the wolf said, sounding slightly more upbeat. If there was one thing that could bring him optimism, it was the idea that their leader could pull them through. After all, Haku was the best. There was no questioning that.

The Charme tilted his head to the side, considering. Kai had been the one to approach the subject of their loss. “Maybe if we had back-up... things would have gone differently,” he ventured, wondering how the other canine might react. It wasn't exactly dissent from the leader, but Sicarus could not help but hold derision for some of his other packmates—the meeting had proved to him that the pack was filled with goddamn women. They weren't any good in fighting, they weren't any good for anything. Sicarus would have gone without ever seeing another girl in his life—but maybe throwing a few of them at the coyotes as fodder wouldn't be quite so bad.
