Rurik is like WTF COUGAR?

Rurik was a friendly canine, and perhaps a little stupid, too. He honestly had no idea on any of the pack's relations to one another; he may as well have been walking up to an enemy pack's borders. Even so, the silver-furred Russian had not bothered to check up on the pack's status—and anyway, someone would have warned him if there was serious conflict between Cour des Miracles and any of their neighbors, he was certain. The pale-furred man spoke again, mentioning a name most definitely familiar to Rurik—the werewolf let out a hearty laugh, slapping his thigh as he did so. “Of course! That is mine son, Anatoliy is. Funny you should meet both of us!” the Russian wolf declared, grinning in his friendly way.

The other man introduced himself, and Rurik nodded eagerly. “Good to meet you!” Just then, he saw the cougar, his brilliant eyes wandering over towards it and widening significantly. He had no idea what a spirit guide was and he certainly couldn't differentiate between one of those and a real live cougar, so naturally, he took a step back, glancing back to Nayati as the man spoke. “Spirit guide?” he asked. It was rare to see Rurik agitated, but he recognized another formidable predator when he saw one, and there was clear nervousness in him. The other man did not seem bothered in the least by the cougar's presence, though, and Rurik looked from Nayati to Onawa once or twice before he gave a small wave toward the cougar, smiling once more, though this was clearly a more nervous sort of smile. He wasn't frightened if Nayati wasn't.
