Private

The morning had been spent wandering the southern portions of the territory, and as Anu refused to stray to far from the homelands she did more then just wander. Eyes worked in search of anything that might be out of place, nose took all smells it could reach and deciphered if there might be one that did not belong. All that might raise her hackles were dead, cold, and so the lithe Dreamer walked past them. First she traveled south, hitting them most southeastern corner and then turned her nose north along the eastern borders. The path was well marked, worm by her paws and the paws of many others and Anu remembered each dip in the earth and visible root that might wish to trip her delicate paws.

Even though Anu hoped to focus on her job, it was hard not to allow her mind to wander just as her body did. It was as a familiar a task as following the path before her, and the blue eyes fey no longer wondering if another be passing by or if a stay leaf on the soft snow smelt of a Dahlian. The sight came and the smells drifted into her keen nostrils but Anu thought about Colibri. A warmth came to her chest, blossoming as she remembered the nights they had spent together. It was the sort of thought for a wintry day, and Anu no longer felt the cold of the late noon’s air.

It did not take her long to reach the edge of the large lake. Its shore was bleak with the lack of foliage surrounding it, though with the silhouette of tall bare branches made the body of water a beautiful picture. The female skirted the shore, four paws moving slowly and slowing as her eyes gazed out onto the water until the stopped all together. The wind rustled her longer cold-season coat, and the Dreamer let her mind grow blank, simply allowing herself a moment of pure peace.
