The phrase that time flew by was no eggazeration. It wasn't only the growth of her children that had zoomed past her, but so many other things. She could hardly believe that this was her second winter in these lands. That Crimson Dreams had been together for over a year now, and the same with her mateship with Kansas. Also, when spring was in full swing, she would be four years old. The woman didn't feel as if she were that old, but she could believe it easily. Perhaps if she had never become a leader it would have been harder to wrap her mind around, but taking on so much responsibility did age her substantially. Not that she ever had been this way, but being the Commander and the Lt. General before had made it so that she couldn't ever consider just her own wishes, she had to think and work for the betterment of the entire pack. Her packmates and family were always placed before herself and with that kind of responsibility came wisdom that she might not have gained otherwise. Still, she knew she was far from knowing everything, which was one of the reasons she was so glad to have Anu by her side. The elder femme knew so much more than she and her strength made the pack's success possible.

Savina was unaware of the recent changes her daughter had been going through, and unaware that Anu knew more than she did. Cambria could be a very secretive girl and you couldn't force information out of her if she did not want to share it. While she knew that things had been bothering her, for she could see it in her body language and her eyes, she hadn't pressed the girl into speaking with her. Of course she wanted her to, she wanted to be able to help with whatever bothered her child, but she knew that Cambria would come to her when she was ready to talk of it with her. Savina nodded and smiled as Anu agreed with her comparison of the two chocolate-coated females. No doubt her friend felt a need to protect the one she loved and it was no mystery as to why she had wanted her away from Dahlia. "I know. The world is brighter when you have someone to love and to share it with." The Italian fey understood well the kind of happiness having a lover brought. It was unlike any other kind of happiness, and could not be duplicated. She had never felt that Anu wasn't happy here, but she understood what her friend meant.

Following her friend's gaze out onto the lake she once again nodded her sleek, dark head. "Me too. I wasn't built for this cold weather. It's always better when the sun is in the sky and the air is warm." No, the dullness of winter did not suit the ebony wolf. Gardening and planting flowers wasn't something she necessarily understood, but she knew that it brought Anu joy and she couldn't argue with it even if she had had the urge to. It didn't surprise her to learn that her lady love shared a similar passion. "That's great! With both your skills I'm sure the garden will be looking lovelier than ever this year." Then a though came to her. She wasn't sure where it had sprung from or why and she didn't know if she should say anything, but before she could stop herself the words were rolling off her tongue. "Anu, have you ever thought of having pups of your own?" Ears folded back tentatively as the words floated in the air, afraid they might offend or upset her friend in someway. Still, Anu would (and had) been a wonderful mother, and she was certain that Colibri would be as well. She wasn't certain how they could make such a thing happen, but if they could then it would surely bring them both joy.
