Sherman's March to the Sea

It didn't take long for the dark woman to reach the source of the fire after she'd broken off from Bris. Kol was quietly thankful that her sister hadn't argued when she'd pointed her in the direction of helping Conor rather than assisting Haku. There was no doubt in the older Stormbringer's mind that Haku would be facing the main invasion, and Kol wanted her baby sister as far from that particular danger as possible. Burning embers from the town and catching trees floated about in the hellish black wind, falling to singe the dark woman's fur though she ignored it. Her violet eyes flashed as the inferno raged around her, and she squinted as her optime legs carried her closer to Haku's cabin. In the orange light of the fire, she could just make out the hulking secui form of the Rosen charging straight at Gabriel de le Poer. Unfortunately for Haku, the Inferni leader had backup. And if they defeated Haku, Kol was supremely afraid they would simply continue their hellish march and trample all of Dahlia de Mai, innocent and guilty alike. She couldn't let that happen.

Not pausing to think, Kol sprinted straight into the fray, her eyes widening slightly as she suddenly recognized one of the Infernians who had come to support his leader. His name escaped her, but imagined pain flared up across her left eye as she remembered the first outright battle in the first war. The damnable hybrid had left a memento for his opponent on that night, and Kol was determined to repay the favor. Her blood boiling from the fiery heat and the sudden lust for battle, Kol let loose a heart-felt battle cry and launched herself at the unforgettable Hybrid Holocaust, fangs and talons bared for anything she could damage.
