Private for Lucifer (<3).

The sun was hanging low in the sky, painting the wispy clouds russet and rose as it began to dip below the horizon. The sky began to darken as the day began to die, giving way to the starry cloak of night. A chill wind swept through the land, causing the branches of the stark trees to snap and wave as it buffeted them. The roar of rushing water was muffled by a thin layer of ice that was frozen atop it, the fast flowing water still moving swiftly beneath it but unable to break through and be it's usual powerful force. Aside from the river, the night was almost silent, except for the soft hooting of an owl that had clearly just awoken and the light footfalls of a tall ebony Luperci.
It had been some time since Soran had been in these lands, too long in her mind. Her jade eyes scanned the landscape in the dimming light and a smile crossed her lips, the familiarity of the lands was comforting, she had missed it, she had missed this place, this river, these trees, she had missed it all. Despite all of the heartache she had experienced here, the hurt that had caused her to turn her back on it in the first place; she had found herself longing to come back, craving these old lands, craving her home. Even after all the hurt she had felt here it was still her home, filled with people that she loved and missed, it was where she belonged. A single tear rolled down her scarred maw as she thought this, long fingers brushed it away fiercely, mostly because she was unsure as to why it was there, whether it was a droplet of sadness or joy.
The dark lady wondered if those she had abandoned would be happy to see her; she had not encountered any of them yet, not Conri and Nani, nor Khaden or Dhalia, or her beloved Deuce. She would have to track them down, find them and apologize and hope that she would be forgiven and allowed back into their lives, she hoped that she would be, the jade eyed lady could not bear to be an outcast from her loved one's lives. The dark fae tossed her head back slowly, causing her long, wavy mane, which was unbound tonight, to fall over her shoulders and tumble down her back. The silver hoops in her left ear glinted in the light of the slowly rising moon with this movement.
Deciding on a spot on the hard ground that was a short distance from the river and sheltered by the large bare trees, the ebony lady dropped the armful of wood that she had been carrying upon the ground, sitting in front of it she piled it up neatly. Soran slipped her canvas bag from her shoulder and began to rummage in it, finding a small rag and a bottle of gin she soaked the rag in the highly alcoholic liquid, tucking it into the pile of wood as she did so. Placing the bottle back into her satchel she began to rummage around inside it again, finding two small pieces of flint she began clicking them together. Finally a lone spark ignited the gin-soaked rag and started a small fire, which caught the twigs and soon began to burn nicely, giving off enough warmth to keep the ebony lady comfortable. So that is where Soran sat and mused, keeping her lithe limbs warm as she thought of a plan of action for when the dawn came.
Lucifer took another dive out of the lands. This time it was not for any thing that was in relation to his rank. The black hunter was slipping back into his old habits, it was his way of sorting out out the issues he had going on in his life, there was Jasper, and even been questioning his feelings for Naniko, and those that Deuce thought or hoped he had. Lucifer bent up from the water, sifting though the pan of rocks and dirt that he pick out of the water bank. He was on the task to find the most stunning stone in the waters. the moon light shimmered nicely upon the waters as he dipped down to rise out the pan. Nothing...he sighed pushing it back into his bag, as he clung to the sheep skin around his shoulders.

The male lifted the bottle of rum at his feet as he tipped the bottle back taking the life away from the spirit in the bottle, and welcoming it into his body, warming him up. Looking out upon the night the male sighed. There was a small clicking sound the male ears snapped up, there was quickly the smell of something burning. Lucifer followed the smell, stubbing back and forth to where there was the light, dragging the sheep skin be hide him.

"Jewch, sho..shouldn't play wifh fire...it mu...might huurt you."

I love this table SmileSmile Thankies.

Soran was warming her chilled hands now, holding her open palms near to the flickering flames of the crackling fire, smiling with relief as the feeling began to come back to them. Finally she was satisfied with the warmth of her hands and was able to once again rummage in her satchel. Pulling another rag from the large canvas bag she unwrapped it slowly, revealing a large fat rabbit that she had caught earlier on her way from the Moaning Woods where she had encountered young Remedy Acidic, it had been good to see that lovely fae again. She mused over this as she skinned the rabbit slowly, using her sharp nails to pull the fur and skin from its limp form. It was funny that the first wolf she had encountered had been a relative stranger to her, she wondered how long it would be until she saw some family, that was her plan for when daylight came though, to seek out her children and Nani, and her former pallid lover as well. When all the fur and skin had been stripped from the small creature, the ebony wolfess found a sharp stick and impaled the rabbit effortlessly, before resting it on the fire to cook slowly

Soran was almost entranced by the crackling of the fire as the meat cooked slowly; she watched the flames jump and dance as she waited for her meal. She was trying not to focus on the possible reactions of her loved ones seeing her again that were running through her head, she could imagine them turning their back on her, demanding that she leave again, informing her that she was no longer needed, her services were no longer required. She couldn't bear those ideas, and yet they would not leave her head. Luckily a familiar voice cut through the quiet of the night, long dark ears swivelled to catch the sound, followed by her whole head as she turned to look at the owner of the voice. There before her stood the dark male that she knew all to well, the mate to her former lover, the son of her first love. A smile crossed her lips briefly, she was initially pleased to see a well known face, but she did now know if he would be happy to see her, she was unsure how jealous he was of her continued love for his pale mate.

"Fire is fine as long as you can keep it under control. It's been a long time Lucifer." Soran replied, her jade eyes watching the dark pelted male cautiously.

The male looked at her, right now he was willing to bet that she was nothing more then a ghost of the past, coming to teach him a lesson about being thankful for what one had. Lucifer was sure that this fire was nothing more then an image him mind had placed in front of him. Day three of his binging, drinking, drugs, and living life with out care in a world, and why should he? The child that made him act like a father was gone, the mate that offered him love, hated him, no she was still in love with Soran, she wasn't happy with any thing that he could offer her. He was sure it was to be because he was a male.

Jasper, and Naniko, he wasn't sure which way to go. Both offered him something different and new. Both could offer him a chance to live again, though both lived in a pack where he had left from in a rush with out even telling the leader that he was leaving. Though she drove him to this point with her pushing him away, not wanting to talk, wanting to write every thing in that stupid book of her's. Lucifer snorted as he slashed some of the rum upon the fire. Watching the flames consume the drink. They sparked up higher and higher. Lucifer laughed, as he stumbled and feel down. Looking to the black lady, he shot her a rather nasty look. how did she know his name, if she was only a ghost then she should had been asking him what his name was.

The black male lifted a finger at her, as he tried to hold it still, he shook it at her. "How you know who I is?" His voice stumbled over the words that he should be able to say with no issue. The black male snorted with a bit of laughter. "You..Your Suuu...Soruun, Soran! Mom says she wants you back." Every time he would drink any more he could see Summer, standing there looking at him, with a look that said he had better run or she was going to throw something at him.

As Lucifer poured rum over the fire, just to watch the flames spark it seemed, Soran let out a noise of annoyance, reaching a slender dark hand into it swiftly and retrieving her supper before it was nothing more than a blackened charred mess, which would be no use to anyone. Prodding it with a long finger, she decided she was satisfied with the level to which is had been cooked and tore a piece of meat from the carcass, popping it into her mouth and chewing it thoughtfully as the drunken male came to sit beside her. She had realised now that the ebony male was very drunk, he was slurring and stumbling and it seemed that he had no idea who she was, she considered sitting with him and telling him the story of his own life, as he did not seem to remember any of it.

But soon enough Lucifer recognised him, he would have been funny had it not been such a pathetic sight, seeing him this way. Soran listened and nodded as he identified her, letting him know that he had gotten her name right, the mention of his mother though sent a sharp pang of pain across the dark lady's chest. Summer, that pale goddess that she had been, her angel, he lady, her first love, she still missed her. Unsure of what to reply to the inebriated dark pelted male's comment, she simply nodded again. Choosing to ignore the statement he had made, afraid that it would dredge up too many painful memories for her, she simply held out the stick with the cooked rabbit on it, offering him some meat.
"How have you been Lucifer? How are Deuce and young Shadow?" Soran asked, deciding that it was better to talk peaceably with the dark male, and find out information on the wolves that she missed dearly while she did so. Plus she still worried about him, she had been his mother's mate after all and still felt some responsibility towards him and his wellbeing.

Lucifer snorted in laughter. The fire went higher and she got more annoyed. He rolled back into the dirt as she pulled out her meal, the male was so off with the world that he couldn't tell which type of meat it was that she was coking. Lucifer found every thing funny, he would have lost it laughing if the fire would have burnt his hand. He was toasted, drunk and toasted. The black male looked at her crossed eyed as he rolled back to him sitting.

The name stung like salt upon the fresh cut. He snarled at her, as he pushed away the food standing up, he was ready to kill her right then and there, for even bring up his name, he was till mad at him-self for not being there to save him, or his own childern. His hand went to the dagger at his side as he looked at her."How dare you even ask"

Soran's ears flattened against her skull as the dark male's hand went to his knife; her eyes glittered with something between fear and annoyance. Would the boy really stab her? And why had he reacted in this way? What had happened with the boy and her former lover to cause him to act like this, surely the drunkard was not petty enough to be jealous of the jade eyed fae and his former lady's love? They had been close, perhaps closer than she and him would ever be, but still did the boy not understand? She had chosen him, it was him the pale angel ran to, him that she would curl around, him she loved no doubt, he had won her. The fight was over for him, he had won. Not that that would stop the dark female remembering her lady love, her pale goddess who's pelt reflected the moonlight as she walked, who the ebony fae had been through so much with, so many ups and downs, highs and lows, from suicides to births of pups. There was no way Lucifer and Deuce had such a strong connection, and yet the dual-eyed lady had chosen him. Though the boy didn't understand that.

Slowly, tentatively, the dark lady's hand crept inside her bag, long, slender fingers closing around the cool glass of the bottle of gin, she gently gripped it by the neck. The dark lady knew that she could easily smash the bottle to splinters and in his inebriated state, the dark male would not be able to fend her off. In reality, the willowy female would never stab him, she wouldn't risk hurting him, or slicing a vital artery and having the drunken child bleed to death before her, she wouldn't risk losing him, the son of her former lover, the only thing she had left of her first love. She couldn't bear to lose the only connection she had left of Summer, the physical thing that kept her first lady alive in these lands. Slowly, jade eyes narrowed as Soran watched Lucifer, untrusting, just because she wouldn't hurt him, not really, did not mean that he would value her own life so highly.

Finally, hand still wrapped around the neck of the bottle hidden in her bag, Soran found her voice.
"Is this about Deuce? What we had is long gone. Don’t' bother even getting jealous, it's pointless. I haven't even seen her yet, or that wonderful little hell beast of a son she has." The dark lady stated, watching him, muscles coiling under her ebony fur, waiting to flee or pounce... taught and ready to move in an instant.

the male was drunk, that or very messed up in the head, or maybe a bit of both, no one was really sure about him. The black lady drink like she had no clue about the scab that she just ripped open, to let the blood come out. The black male sneered at her, he wanted to hit her, lay her out on the ground and just keep kitting her. No he knew he couldn't. Noah would have rung his neck if he knew these thoughts about her. No matter how she dishonored his mother, Noah would want him to be respectful to a woman. Though right now she was nothing more then a target. Her space between her eyes looked like a nice target for him.

With a flash of lighting in the nights sky he moved quickly placing him-self less then an inch away from her face, he wasn't going to swing, he would let her hit him a few time before he would do any thing..well maybe he would egg her on."She had a son, Shadow was his name and he was never a little hell beast! Understand?" The topic of Shadow was still raw, he was still so very bitter over it. Then came his next blow up at the black lady."If you want her, take her. But never ever let me see it, or hear of it. I can not forgive a whore."
