He had basically adopted the dead, desolate land as his new home, content to eat anything and everything that crossed his path, be it dead or alive, canine or not. He was a sick bastard, and none of those kind of values and virtues mattered to him; food was food, and he wouldn't be picky. Fussy eating wasn't in him, and he would gladly kill wolves to eat their less-than-appetizing flesh, but he hadn't a chance to wonder whether Hybrid's claims were true.

Hybrid. That fucked up, arrogant, twisted, beautiful bitch.

He sighed heavily, glaring at the ground, and stood from his lying position. He had chosen, then, to remain in Secui form, stalking forward through the death all around him in search of any hint of something alive that he could attempt to kill for some fresh food and the scent of blood that hadn't yet drained away.

Dark nose sniffed carefully at the thin air, seeking out the trails of scents that her siblings left. The inky black girl wanted to sure that she would be able to find her way back to them when she decided that she was done. It didn't take her long to pick up the scent either, which brought a very faint hint of relief to her. It wasn't often that Nox purposefully left her siblings, being alone was frightening and if something bad happened there wouldn't be anyone there to help her. Today though, Nox had decided to be big and brave. She and Zadi hadn't been able to find the fireflies that night and after he had called her smart, the girl had come up with a bright idea. She would find the fireflies during the day, when they would be easier for her to see in case they had their lights turned off, and she would bring her brother to see them at night, to make him more proud of her.

It didn't help at all that the D'Angelo girl was timid by nature, slow in maturity, at least mentally. She over seven months now, well on her way to adulthood, but her mind and heart were still very much that of a child. Her steps were soft and careful as she moved through the barren lands, keeping her tiny form hunched close to the ground, tail kept tightly between her legs as she moved along. Paranoia filled gold-green eyes, much as it always did, and they darted about at a frantic pace, searching for signs of monsters or fireflies.

[ooc] and as you're falling down

[bic] could i hear you scream?
His was lissome.

His was large and daunting.

His, of course, was the stalk of a killer.

But he had never killed. Nobody would have been any the wiser if Andrezej Lykoi never killed a creature that wasn't meant to be killed for prey, for he upheld the air of one who had murdered many times in his seven and a half short months of life.

Short months. They'd been dedicated to planning.

And leaving, one must remember.

He laughed bitterly when his large, shaggy Secui body went right in line with the small, hunched black girl. Couldn't be more than five or six months old, judging by size alone, but that was a rough estimate. Andrezej himself was big enough to be nine or ten months old, but it was in part because of his father and in part due to his being a hybrid. He couldn't see her face, of course.

But even at seven and a half months of age, nobody could deny that Andre was dangerous.

Didn't your mummy ever tell you not to wander out alone? he cackled, his gait about double hers as he drew up behind her. Perhaps just to freak her out, or maybe because he was a sick bastard, he ran his thick Secui muzzle across her hindquarter, wheezing laughter as it traced up her side. And such a pretty thing, too. There are monsters out here, dearie. Monsters you never want to see.

Like him.

He laughed again, listening with euphoria as it turned to sweet, sweet music, the gnashing sound of snarling. Peekaboo.

They could have been the perfect opposites, the timid raven girl and the beastly hybrid that lurked behind her suddenly. The sweetheart and the brute. Through her own quivering breath and pounding heart, she hadn't heard him behind her, stalking her. It was only when he spoke, touched her, that she knew he was there. She froze then, almost completely, and her eyes were suddenly wide with fear. Monsters, he'd said, and that was what had caught her attention. No, she hadn't come looking for monsters, the exact opposite really. Blinking, her heart pounding rapidly, threatening to burst right out of her chest, she spun. The girl was quick on her feet, whipping her nimble form around to face the hybrid, the stranger that had touched her.

Ears dropped back immediately, plastering to her skull, and Nox slunk back away from him, cowering. Her legs bent, bringing her body closer to the ground, tail brushing the cold earth beneath her despite being plastered between her legs. Fear had always had a powerful hold over the D'Angelo girl, to the point that she often couldn't use her common sense in a bad situation. Quivering with fear, instinct kicked in suddenly, and the girl licked at the air in front of her, near to his muzzle, in a pathetic manner. "Th-th-the Fi-F-Fi-Fireflies." Her words were quiet, voice cracking as she attempted to explain herself. Her stutter was always there, but it was worse in times of stress, such as that very moment.

She didn't want the monsters, didn't want to see or hear them. All she had come for was to try and find the fireflies, to show her brother that she could do so on her own, and she didn't know how she could explain it to the unhappy stranger.
