it's a little short, sorry. will probably get longer as the thread continues though!

Xion was continuing to explore. So what if her parents didn't know where she was? Delwyn always got to go off on his own. But, then again, she hadn't seen Delwyn for quite some time now, and as far as she knew, he was lost somewhere. She missed her brother dearly. Life was quieter without him. But she still had Carwyn, and the two of them often took to exploring together or play-fighting. The last time they had sparred, Carwyn had won. Xion was determined to get back at him for that.

And now she had something new to show off to her brother; an ear piercing. The ring glinted in the few rays of sunlight that filtered through the trees above. The white wolfess knew this place. She had been here a few months ago with her mother and Carwyn. This was where she had met that golden wolf, the one with all the piercings on his body and the tattoos. But he was not here today, only the eerily blue lake. Xion sat down beside the water, dipping her feet into it. Something small moved beside her. Mismatched eyes flew to the source of the movement; it was a spider. What an odd-looking thing, she thought, with so many legs. Xion decided to watch it for a while, simply because she had nothing better to do and needed some rest.

Hiiii! :3 Cai is in Optime form. Just a note - He's really quite tall, so he looks a lot older than he is from far away.

The sky was a lovely color today. The youth smiled up at it for a moment longer, enjoying the fresh air that whooshed through his lungs and the teasing of a soft wind as it played with the tassled ends of his scarf. He was walking through unknown territory, large foot-paws crunching on the ground as they lifted lightly and fell heavily. Soft grey-blue and ivory tail swung merrily behind the youth, wagging in time to the soft hum that spilled from his smiling maw.

A thought occured to Caillen - He was thirsty. At first, it was relatively easy to ignore the thirst, but it steadily grew and grew, until he became uncomfortably aware of the dryness prickling at his throat. The wolfdog's large black nose twitched, bringing in the scent of fresh water from not too far away. He changed course, heading instead for the lake.

At first, Caillen thought he was alone. He emerged from the trees and wandered slowly down to the water's edge, still humming peacefully, those brilliant sky-blue eyes fixated on the rippling glass mirror before them. Crouching down on the pebbly shore, the tall fellow scooped some water up in his cupped hands, spilling it down his front as he drank deeply. It was not until his thirst was quenched that Caillen noticed a second scent, hidden beneath that of the water's. Standing slowly and wiping his wet palms on his checkered scarf, the wolfdog finally noticed the maiden. She sat at the opposite side of the lake, her feet in the water, her attention clearly focused on something beside her. The sun lit up her white fur like snow, and glittered on the earing in her dainty ivory ear. She was truly beautiful, sitting there, bathed in the sunlight. For a moment, Caillen stood awkwardly, not sure of what to do.

" Erm... H-h-hello? Ahoy, miss?"

LOL DANGIT I POSTED AS XERIS AGAIN. Aaaaaaaaagh sorry for being so late, I promise I will try not to do that again in the future <_< I'm just starting my first year of college so I had some major adjustments to make!

Xion had heard the stranger before she saw him; the sound of his voice was not something she had expected to hear out in the middle of this forest. The white-furred wolfess looked up at the unfamiliar wolf who had spoken, tilting her head upward to look at his face clearly as he was rather tall. For now, she remained seated, enjoying the area too much to bother moving around. "Hello," she replied. "Would you like to come sit with me?" Despite being brought up with family that included such reckless members as Delwyn, a bit of her mother's politeness was still evident in Xion. And besides, perhaps she could make a new friend today. That was always an exciting thought, no matter how old the girl got.

She then remembered the spider, and quickly returned her eyes to the leaf-covered ground to search for it. Upon spotting the creature, she extended a hand and allowed it to crawl up her finger, its dark color contrasting sharply with the ivory of her fur. "Look at this," Xion said excitedly, holding her hand toward her new acquaintance. "I didn't know things with this many legs existed!" It was true, sadly; this was Xion's first time seeing a spider. She had seen a few insects before, but usually paid more attention to chasing them than how many appendages they had. Hopefully this wolf would find her discovery just as interesting as she did.
