Looking for shells was actually kind of fun. There were a lot of different kinds of shells. Some varied in size while others varied in color. Among the shells in the pile were a few swirls ones that were a bit of a crimson color. The mistress had been looking for some things to decorate the house with. Maybe this here could be something she could use. Perhaps she could tie some string onto them and hang them from somewhere or find other uses for them. Layla slide her bag off her neck and opened it with her paws. She took a few of the crimson shells and placed them in her bag. She didn’t worry about the sand that was built up on them. She could clean them off when she got home.

She was enjoying her time in the water and offered for Denali to come in. He denied her saying that the ocean water was too cold. Perhaps it was, but on a warm day like this, Layla thought it felt wonderful and relaxing. The mistress didn’t want it to seem unfair to the pup that she was having all the fun, so she got out of the water and went back over to him. Her smile returned as she wagged her tail. ”Well what would you like to do then? We could go for a run or look for some more shells. Maybe make something in the sand too. Any of those sound like good ideas?”

As she waited for Denali to make a decision, she looked up to the sky. A lot of time had passed since she first arrived in the Crimson Dreams territory. It was soon time that the mistress headed back, but she wanted to have a last minute time of fun with the pup. She lowered her head to the young one and spoke softly. ”It’s getting late and I should probably be heading home soon. Why don’t we do one last thing before I go.”

Denali watched as Layla played in the water and couldn’t help thinking she looked so much like a puppy when she was in there, with her fur all soaked and thin, making her look much different than she did before she went into the water. It was a funny sight to see an adult acting like a puppy, but she soon came out and asked him what he wanted to do, with a few ideas, one stuck in his head and he looked down at the sand.

What can we make with the sand?

He asked curiously, he knew he could draw in it, he’d always made pictures of his family they were crude, but he wondered what things that the bigger wolf would make, and wondered if they would be the same of different than what he did.

Denali seemed glad to see Layla coming back to play with him one last time, or was it perhaps he was happy to see an adult acting as if she were his age? Either way, the mistress was happy to see the young pup continue to keep a smile on his face. As the she wolf trotted back over to the pup, she formed an agog look on her face. She was full of excitement, like any other pup would be. As the she wolf looked back the way she came. She could see her paw prints being washed away by the tide.

Her gaze moved back to the pup as he asked what they could make in the sand. Obviously all the pup could do was make was drawings because he was too young to shift. Although shifting so many times in one day was a bit tiring, she wanted to let the pup have as much fun as he could. There was the possibility of building sculptures with the sand. She wagged her tail a bit as she began to shift back into her optime form. It took quite a bit of energy for the mistress to shift back, but now she was back in her normal and preferred form. She didn’t bother with putting her clothes back on until she was ready to head back home. She then turned her attention back to the pup and smirked. ”Let me show you a little trick Denali. All you need is a little wet sand.”

Once the tide had gone back a bit, Layla began to dig a small hole near her leg. It was in the middle area of the sand where it wasn’t too wet and it wasn’t too dry either. Once she had hit the wet part of the hole, she began to scoop it out and make what at first looked like a hardened mountain of sand. Once the mistress felt it was big enough, she began to edit it with one of her claws. It took a couple of minutes to get it all right, but it looked great when she was done. It turned from a mountain to a lizard. ”Look Denali, it’s a rare sand lizard!”

WC: 356 OOC: we can end it with your post if you wish :3

He watched her change with interest in his eyes, and felt the urge that he should do it, but then couldn’t think of how to actually change, but before he could ask she told him to come to her and distracted him with new possible ideas with the sand. She mentioned wet sand, well there was plenty of that all around them, they had no shortage of that at least. He watched as she used her paws to dig out the sand, but he made no move as she made a little mountain. He smiled wagging his tail as she continued, then she started doing something else, something he was unable to comprehend at that particular moment due to his own age, but it dealt with a lot of concentration and that looked like lots of work, he did get bored and looked a way at the waves for a while until she talked agan, he looked down and instead of the little mountain she made, it was a lizard! He stood and wagged his tail, you could make them? He said nothing as he moved away, and started digging himself, where he was able to make the pile, but without fingers he was unable to do anything else and he had no idea how she’d done it anyway so he pretended to move the sand around the way he wanted.

Look it’s a mountain!

He said wagging his tail, that was what it looked like and he was happy enough that he could do that much for now, he’d be king of the mountain and he wouldn’t have to worry about a thing, but as he climbed up on to it… or tried, he crushed it. He pouted for a second then looked up.

it seems I was a giant and the mountain couldn’t let me stand on it.

He said a little sadly. He looked at the sky and knew he’d get into trouble if he stayed out any longer, and turned to Layla.

I gotta go home now though. ‘vina will be unhappy if I go home late.

He said matter of factly.

Ok, this is the last post. I'll have this archived after I reply. WC: 520 {5 points}

Layla was glad to see the look of happiness on the young pup’s face. It was always a joy to see a pup having fun with pretty much a stranger. The mistress wasn’t exactly a stranger to him, but he didn’t know much about her and she didn’t know much about the pup. Until she learned more about him and his pack, he was just an acquaintance. The black and white she wolf was glad to see how amazed the pup was with her molding of the sand, even if her “mountain” was just a pile of hardened sand. She especially loved the look he gave when she began to shape it. If when the pup was able to shift wanted to learn how to do this himself, then she wouldn’t mind being his teacher. It seemed that at the moment the only pup she was teaching was Gideon, and she wouldn’t mind sharing what she knew if the pup was curious about anything. Until she had pups of her own, there was no one for her to teacher besides the pack pups and any pups she happened to come across, like Denali.

After going off on a tangent, Layla peered back over to the pup and noticed he was digging his own hole. Even though he was not able to shift, the mistress still thought it was possible to make a sand mountain at the very least. As she watched him beginning to make his mountain, the mistress looked back to her creation and began to add in some smaller details to try and make the creature more realistic. His excited yelp to show the she wolf his mountain caught her attention once more. It was actually a nice looking mountain considering that he couldn’t do much with his paws. She scooted over to the pup’s mountain and began to harden it a bit before he climbed onto it. She liked the idea of him trying to be the ruler of his own mountain, that was until it crushed under his feet. The poor little pup seemed so down. The she wolf moved her sandy hand and rubbed the top of the pup’s head. ”It’s alright Denali. Your mountain wasn’t hard enough. If it was a bit harder, I’m sure it would have held you up just fine.”

The pup’s eyes wandered to the sky and noticed that it was getting late. Denali even mentioned that he should be heading home soon. Layla should probably have headed back home a little while ago, but she was having too much fun. The mistress nodded and moved over to the water to wash the sand off her body. Even though sand was building on her feet as she went to get her stuff, she didn’t mind. The she wolf bent down to grab her bag and then moved her orbs back to the pup. ”Then I’ll be heading home too Denali. I had a great time playing with you. Let me know if you ever want to play again.” With that, she turned around and began to disappear into the distance.
