Sanuye had Niyol trotting at a slow pace so that it was suitable for her new feline companion. It was nice to have element around to keep her company while they were traveling back to her home. The coyote was glad to see that her companions were content with each other. After being used to Shilah catching rides on his back, he didn’t mind others catching a ride. The hybrid released the stallion’s mane so that she could give gentle pets to her new esteemed colleague. Her hair hung over her shoulders and her feathers stuck up in the air. She allowed the feline to wander around on Niyol’s back and neck, but if he was starting to spring off, she would reach over and catch him so that he didn’t harm her companion. A smile crossed her face as she caught the scent of the Muggles borders. ”We’re here Element. These are the borders of AniWaya.”

Niyol’s hooves crushed onto the leaves as they continued into the heart of the tribe’s lands. Sanuye’s home was not too far from the borders and it wouldn’t be long until they reached the dungeon. The coyote sat up and grabbed hold of her companion’s mane once more. She made sure she always held it gently so that she would not upset the unicorn. She guided him through the forest until they came to the dungeon that she called home. She slid off her unicorn before helping her guest off. The hybrid set the feline down before helping her companion into his pasture. Once all that was done, she turned to attention to Element. ”This is my home. We’re actually close to the village, the heart of the whole tribe.” She gave a coy smile before moving over to her fire pit. There were only ashes of the previous wood left and she closed her eyes. ”I’m just taking a short break. I can show you to the village in a bit of you want.”

Woo! Thanks!

”This is my home. We’re actually close to the village, the heart of the whole tribe. I’m just taking a short break. I can show you to the village in a bit of you want.”

"Thank you, Sanuye. Your home is quite beautiful," Element said politely - and truthfully. The tall grass swayed in the wind up to Element's neck, so that he got a pleasant tickle around him. The grass and sun was warm on his fur despite the summer, and Sanuye's unicorn had been beautiful. The scent of more horses was scattered across the lands as well as the scent of corn, wheat, and other crops. There were also smells of feathers and something Element couldn't quite identify.

Sanuye lived in a nice home with a fire pit. When Element had arrived at Hogwarts, he'd been alarmed at the face that Luperci purposefully set fires to cook meals and keep warm - but when he grasped the fact that the fires were controlled and tame, and wouldn't set fire to the things around it, Element had grown more comfortable around them.

OOC: I see a problem with that avatar. Where's Element's pretty green eyes? WC: 336 {3 points}

Sanuye was glad to see that her feline friend was happy with her home. The one thing that bugged her on the way back was that Element would not want to see her home. With that thought erased from her mind, she continued back to her work. Niyol was sure happy to be home since he pranced along the grass and began to have his meal. The coyote moved over to her companion and smiled. There were times where she even thought the horse might be lonely all by himself. If anything, the hybrid promised herself she would make a journey back to the Great Tribe and find a companion for her. She then moved back to the fire pit and sat down in front of it. She was not sure if she should light it up or not. She decided not to since she was eager to show the feline to the village, but first a quick meal.

Sanuye had some meat left over and was still fresh from when she caught it. This was lucky for her seeing as she was not the best hunter around. She remembered Nayati teaching her to hunt, but it must have been her bad luck to never get it right. The coyote took the meat and moved over to her ceremony spot. She had little wooden idol up that almost seemed to look like totems. She closed her eyes and began to chant before moving her hands over the meal. This was her way of blessing the food for providing a meal for her. She was sure that Element would question her on this, but she didn’t mind. She had no problems with explaining her rituals. The hybrid paused in her chanting and began to speak in another language. It was a native language and one that she was taught by her foster parents. She continued on with her ritual and even spoke in her language out loud. ”Tak dig for dette malted” {Thank you for this meal}

so sorry for the wait!!! and -poke- there they are!

Element cocked his head at the canine's antics. What was going on? He considered as she waved her hands over her food and chanted in a strange language Element had never heard before. He'd read in some fantasy books of people performing rituals before eating or before a celebration, so he guessed this must be one of them. He politely waited until she was done, then cocked his head. It wouldn't hurt to ask.

"What were you saying?" he asked. The language was in one that Element had absolutely no experience of; it didn't seem to have roots in Spanish or English and it most certainly wasn't the Low Speech. He knew there were hundreds of other languages in the world to speak, but Element never thought he'd see another one in his lifetime; everyone he'd spoken to here seemed to speak English, albeit an English that was no doubt different than the English that the humans spoke.

OOC: It's alright. WC: 319 {3 points}

Sanuye took a short break in her blessing to check on her feline companion. She could tell from the puzzled look on his face that he was confused as to what she was doing. She smiled before offering a spot next her to her for Element so she could explain what she was doing. Once he was beside her, she turned her silver gaze back to the meet and pointed to it. ”I was blessing the meat. I do it every time before I have a meal. It’s just my way of showing thanks for the food.” She closed her eyes once more as she continued with the blessing. The hybrid closed her eyes before pulling out a small knife and cut into the meat. She offered some to Element before taking some and having a quick meal.

Once Sanuye was done, she turned back to Element and smiled. She didn’t want to head to the village unless her feline friend was ready to continue on. She raised herself up and headed back to her companion to make sure he was alright and had some food in his stomach. Niyol trotted up to her, happy to see her come by just as he always did. She could tell he was lonely all by himself. She pet his face as she waited for her friend to finish. Once he was done, the coyote moved back to the feline and smiles. ”Are you ready to head to the village now?” The hybrid moved away from her home and towards the village. She didn’t want to force him to walk all the way. She reached down to pick him up if he wanted to be carried, but would move her hands away if he didn’t want the hybrid to touch her. The tip of her tail wagged with excitement. She was happy to be sharing her tribe’s home with her new friend.

”I was blessing the meat. I do it every time before I have a meal. It’s just my way of showing thanks for the food.”

Element nodded respectfully; he understood that others had different ways of doing things and that everyone did things differently, and besides; her idea was a good one, he thought. Showing thanks for the food was a good idea, as some poor soul, canine or feline or not, had lost their life. And even though it was going towards a good cause - the survival of another - it was still a good idea to give thanks, for it was a life nonetheless.

”Are you ready to head to the village now?”

"Alright," Element said, and began to walk forward. He didn't see Sanuye's stretched out hands, and continued to walk. He was a hardy cat, and could walk for miles and miles before becoming tired. Indeed, that's how he came to Souls; his birthplace was far, far away from here, yet he had walked and walked, following the trace of where he thought he'd belong. He never knew why he ended up here, but he did, and he was glad; between new friends and a new home, it was the best place for the cat.

Sanuye was glad that Element was showing her respect as she continued on with her blessing. Because she was a very spiritual girl, she made some of her own traditions that she could practice in her free time. She was unsure of what the other tribe members would think, but she was sure that since she was so spiritual then they wouldn’t have mind. Then again most of the members here were not actually members of the original Great Tribe with the exception of Nayati and Dawali. She had not really met any of the other members in the tribe and the ones she had met were not from the actual tribe, so it was safe to say that they would not know her traditions at home were ones that she created herself. A smile formed on her face as she brought the blessing to a close. It was important to do the whole thing so that it would be giving thanks back to the species of the animal she had taken down to provide her with this meal. Once she was done, she did her usual bit and cleaned up her blessing area. The hybrid liked to keep this area clean and pure or else she feared that her live would too become tainted by the mess she had left behind. She surely did not want this impression to fade off on her. She was a pure soul and wished to keep it that way.

Sanuye pulled her hands back as it seemed like Element didn’t need a ride after all. She smiled and watched her feline companion follow at her side. She was glad to have some company as she began to head for the village. Although she figured she was off duty, it wouldn’t be to much trouble to check on the wood for the Great Fire as she was there giving him a tour of the heart of the tribe. The coyote could see the smoke coming from the Great Fire in between the trees. The fire was known to be a beacon for travelers and would lead them to safety; although, during the day it just seemed like a sigh that they were getting closer to the village. Once they had arrived, the hybrid took and small detour to check on the amount of wood they had left to prepare for the upcoming season. So far it seemed like the tribe was in good supply so there was no need for her to attend to her duties with she had her guest around. She moved back towards the blazing fire as she looked down to Element with her bright silver eyes. ”This is the Great Fire. Here in AniWaya it symbolizes the dedication and spirituality of all the members here.” As she was explaining, Shilah appeared at her side to help guide her along through the village. Element would still be able to see him but not hear him. He would begin to lead them away towards some of the other areas of the village, though she was sure the Great Fire was the most important icon of the whole place.

Element watched with intense interest as the girl did her rituals and blessings to her food. He liked the difference in culture in every pack - AniWaya had the spiritual blessings and cleansings that made it nice to be there, Inferni was a more war-like pack with harsher ways, Phoenix Valley, Crimson Dreams and Cour des Miracles were very laid back, and Dahlia de Mai was more like a traditional wolf pack with traditional ranks and a more tier-like system. That was fine with Element, who was a solitary creature, and had a cat-like culture, perhaps. It was always interesting, however, to see how others did things - it seemed that Sanuye had her own traditions and her own rituals that she practiced, as Element had never seen them before. He sat respectfully, not making a sound, which cats were very good at.

As they approached the Great Fire while walking around to take a tour, Element gazed at the enormous flames that leapt into the sky. He stopped for a moment, awed at what was before him - had the Luperci really kept up those leaping flames? For how long? The way Sanuye said it, it seemed like the Great Fire had been there since the tribe had started, or at least, very near that time. It symbolized dedication and spirituality - that was a good thing for a fire to represent. Fire never relented, and the swirling flames seemed to suck him in as he stared at it.

He tore himself away, however, to follow Sanuye into the other areas of AniWaya. It was truly a place like none he'd ever seen - unique in its own way.

OOC: sorry for the wait. SSWM: 412

Sanuye was pleased to see that Element was so taken by the flames of the Great Fire. It was the perfect symbol for the tribe and just showed the pride one can have for such a beauty. She knew it was her duty to make sure that the fire never went out unless she was told it needed to go out for a reason. She watched as the fire danced in the air in front of them, almost as if it was giving them a show. She smiled and moved her hands towards the fire, just to warm up before they continued on their tour. It was nice to be able to show her feline friend around her home, especially considering he was so interested in spirit animals.

To the north of their current position was the town hall. Sanuye figured they could just go in a circle to cover the whole central area of the tribe. She strolled along with her arms hanging at her side and her hands holding each other behind her back. She did looked down to the feline to make sure he was still following her and wasn’t getting too tired from the walking. She knew they had only just begun with the tour, but there was no harm in taking an early break if he needed one. They soon came to the town hall. The coyote hadn’t really been to the hall personally so she did not know much about it. The hybrid paused in front of the structure and rested her arms at her side. ”This is the town hall. It’s where we have our meetings and serves as a nice shelter.” She was eager to continue on after the tour of the town hall and towards the next area on the map, the stables.

Sanuye began to lead her feline friend over towards the stables. She knew that the tribe member who worked her didn’t seem to like her very much. She didn’t want to start something so she would make it brief and then move on. The coyote paced herself slowly as they approached the stables. She took a quick look around to make sure that Liliana was no where to be found before she talked about the place. Once she was sure that the wolf dog was not around, she looked down to Element and smiled. ”These are the stables. The tribe horses stay here and are watched by the care takers.”
