Duty thread for Sanuye :3. WC: 355 {3 points}

Sanuye yawned as she woke that winter morning. The chill of the day was already settling in and it was still morning. She crawled out of her den and looked around her home. There was still no snow on the ground, but it was still cold. She moved to her fire bit and brushed away some of the ashes. The coyote didn’t intend to spend her days at home just because it was cold. She had duties to do and she intended to keep them up seeing as she was not allowed to actually tend to the great fire yet. The hybrid moved to her companion and called him over. She rested her head on him before heading from her home to head for the woods. She did have a small axe to help gather firewood for the fire tending, a gift from her father. The female grabbed it before heading around.

Sanuye moved through the woods and looked for some shorter trees and older ones so she wouldn’t feel bad for cutting it down. She found a couple that were already laying on the ground. This was perfect. The coyote began to chop up the trees into firewood. It took a few minutes before she had gotten it all cut up. The female whistled for her companion and he jumped over her fence, racing towards her. The hybrid got the wood on the horse before she climbed onto his back. She had him walk slow so there would be no accidents. She informed him to go back home so she could drop off the axe before heading to the village.

Once Sanuye reached the village, she stopped by the pile of firewood that was used to feed the Great Fire. Here was where she was dropping off her supplies for Dawali. She felt bad for him seeing as he had to tend to the Great Fire himself. The coyote wanted to get her duties done so she would be able to help out her chief with the fire. The hybrid slid off her companion and began to pile the extra firewood onto the pile.

+3 OOC: ^^ oh fun

Liliana was sitting by the fire, remembering the ceremony that had been here a few days past and feeling thankful for everything and for being able to spend it with Nayati, everything now was the horses and Nayati, though she has much more time for others, she couldn’t help but thinking about one or the other… she was meant to be with him and she could feel it, and she wanted to let the fire know, as it seemed to have heard her last calling, that she was thankful for it being there to warm them, to give them the power they needed to be a fully functioning pack, and whatever else it did… and she couldn’t help but think it did grant wishes on an occasion. She was quiet and in her own world as she watched the flames dance around, finding that she could see a scene within the fires. Though what scene it was, was beyond her.

That was when she heard some clattering as someone was doing something. She moved a little and with a little irritation saw Sanuye, she moved back and tried to pretend that the wolf wasn’t there, but it did little good, but maybe she’d just stack the logs and be on her way. She forced herself to close her eyes but her ears were perked up listening, though they always were, but she was listening for one thing in particular… the female wolf leaving. She couldn’t help but feel that Sanuye had some kind of feeling for Nayati, but Liliana knew that Nayati was with her, and that someday they could possibly be mated, though they were courting now, she just didn’t want to be reminded that she possibly might have some competition since she knew if that was so, Liliana would possibly lose… but that was what she’d learned from an early age… wolve’s were always above wolfdogs.

Sanuye couldn’t help but feel more alone as the days went by. Nayati was off doing his own thing and it just seemed like he was never around anymore. Maybe it would have been better for her to have just stayed back with the Great Tribe. At least then she would have been able to stay with her parents and siblings. She missed them so much and all the friends she was making were never around either. She could feel the emptiness growing and she was dying to spend more time with her childhood friend. She would have to begin her search for him one of these days. She wanted to tell him how she felt about him and maybe even them. She let out a soft sigh before turning back and heading to the fire to warm up a bit before heading back home.

Sanuye paused as she came to the fire and noticed Liliana there. She hadn’t seen the wolf dog for a while and wondered how she was doing. She was sure that she was already here and watching the coyote. She wasn’t mad about her doing it but was a bit curious as to why she was doing so in the first place. Was there really a reason for her to spy on the hybrid attending to her duties? She shook her head as she moved closer to her. She was interested to hear on how the wolf dog’s life was going. She remembered since last time that she was a bit on edge about her relationship with Nayati. Perhaps she was trying to figure out about that and if she was growing closer to him. She came closer to the female wolf dog and gave forth a friendly smile. ”Hello Liliana. It’s good to see you again. How has life been treating you?”

WC: 191 OOC: Awkward pooost!

To her utter horror it seemed that Sanuye had spotted her and was coming up to her, it seemed just for small talk, Liliana opened her eyes and looked up at… was she a friend?, well in any case she looked up at the female and gave a weak smile.

Ah hello, well things are going fine. Life has been very fair.

She said, in fact so very fine, she thought in her head, she was in many ways very happy with her life right now, with Nayati spending so much time with her, and her work going so well… she was sure that she’d become the master in the animal ranks, which made her proud. Things were going great for her now. She looked at the fire as she thought this but remembered her company and looked at her again.

How has life been treating you?

She asked politely. She didn’t want Sanuye to think that Liliana was rude, she was in no way a rude woman, but she wasn’t sure how much she wanted to talk to the woman either, which made the whole situation quite awkward for her.

Sanuye couldn’t help but feel a little uneasy about Liliana. It looked as though the wolf dog was trying to hide from her. What was more unbelievable was it seemed like she was trying to spy on her. She could not understand what this whole act was for. If there was something that she wanted to know, why was she trying to spy instead of just confronting her about the situation? Was it possible that she was just too scared to do such a thing. No, she figured there had to of been another reason for her doing this, she just didn’t know what it was. The coyote formed a smile on her face as the wolf dog explained that life was going well for her. She was happy to know that the other members of her tribe were having a good time even if she wasn’t. She could have had better days, but for now she guessed everything was alright. The hybrid fixed some of the feathers in her hair before she looked over to the Great Fire. She could feel the flames burning inside her soul and warming it up as she waited for Liliana to say something else. She was sure that she was going to ask how her life was going.

Sanuye was right about the question that her wolf dog friend was going to ask here. Part of her wanted to say a lie and say that things were going well, but the other part of her wanted to just tell her the truth. Maybe she would be able to help her out and think of some things she could do to make her have some more fun in her life. She sighed and took a seat in front of the Great Fire. ”To be honest Liliana, my life has been rather dull and lonely. All I seem to be doing is hanging around my home and doing my duties. Nayati’s never around and neither are any of the other friends I have made here in AniWaya. I’ve been trying to find some new things to do, but no one’s really around anymore. I sometimes wonder if I really should have come here in the first place...” The coyote closed her eyes as she thought about the last part of her statement. She couldn’t believe that she let that slip though. She wanted to come here and she had only planned to go back to the Great Tribe to visit her adoptive family. She shook her head and flicked her tail. She knew she wanted to be here, she just didn’t know how she was going to fit it. For the moment it felt like she was an outcast. The hybrid turned her silver gaze back to the female and wondered if she had anything to say about the whole thing. She wondered if she even cared at all. The hybrid girl remembered her and Nayati sitting together at the ceremony. She wondered if he was with her the whole time and just ignoring his childhood friend.

WC:248 OOC: Blah that was crappy on my end >.>;

It seemed that apparently it had not been so fair for Sanuye either and Liliana listened to the woman’s unhappy words. This put some sympathy to the girl in front of her, but it was quite obvious that most worked rather hard. At the mention of Nayati, a tiniest of smiles slid up liliana’s muzzle.

Well with winter coming, many are very busy, so busy that they have little time even for themselves.

Liliana said, she knew this, as she was the caretaker of the animals…. The only caretaker. Liliana’s job was nearly twenty four hours seven days a week, and she did still find time for others, though most of them visited the stables for their own horses but she’d have a conversation here or there.

I’m sure you’ll get to see your friends again come winter. I am lucky that the tribe loves their horses, they come often.

She said, though not smugly, she felt she was lucky to have such a job not only because she got a good conversation, but that she did what she wanted to, and that was how things worked. Was Sanuye unhappy with her own duties? Liliana wondered, fire tenders were rather important, but it had to be a very tedious job. To keep a fire going until a ceremont, it was hard to think of especially when the rains started coming down. That made her drift off a little wondering how they would protect the great fire from that.

sorry for the wait. SSWM: 429

Sanuye gazed over to Liliana as she saw the smile appear on her face. What was she smiling about? Was it possible that she was pleased to see that she was in pain and unhappy? Just what was wrong with this wolf dog? Was there something wrong with her mind? Did she find joy in seeing others in pain? The coyote returned her gaze back forward, not wanting to even look to her company as she spoke. While she hated to hear he words coming out of her mouth, she had to admit that Liliana was right. With the colder season around, she was sure that most of the members would be busier with their duties. Even the hybrid had to admit that she was more on her toes with her duties since winter had come to the area. She had been trying to get some more wood so that she would be able to help keep the Great Fire going even during the snow. She hoped that the covers she made would also be able to help out with the wood and keep it dry. The hybrid’s eyes moved back to the female and then back down. What was she to do now?

Sanuye moved her ears up as Liliana spoke about the members of the pack seeing her because of their companions. She had to admit that the fire tenders didn’t have to interact with the other tribe members as much so it was a bit more of a lonelier task. She emitted a soft sigh and then nodded. ”Yeah you are lucky to have so many people coming to see you.” In all honesty, the coyote liked her duties, but she just didn’t like being so lonely. Even back in the Great Tribe she wasn’t as lonely as she was here. She wondered if she would be able to catch anyone while they were tending to their duties just as the wolf dog had done with her. She even thought about Nayati, though she knew if she found him out hunting, she knew not to disturb him. Speaking of Nayati, the hybrid looked over to the dark female and wondered if she had really been with Nayati as much as she had seen before. She remembered back to the ceremonies and saw them together there as well. She placed her hands together and began to twist them around each other as she stared to the ground. ”Liliana… I noticed that you and Nayati have been spending a lot of time together… you two must be close…”

She wasn’t paying too much attention to facing the fire tender. She was still off thinking about what they did to tend the fire when the rains came. Her attention was brought back as she spoke. She shook her head.

No they don’t come to see me, they come to see their horses, I’m normally there tending to the other horses. Is all

She said slightly defensive, she couldn’t help it and then Sanuye asked another question, one that really caught her off guard, it was about her and Nayati. About how close they were. And she looked at the woman, unsure of where this was leading to.

Yes we have been, he has been courting me for a little while now.

She said, feeling a blush reach over her cheeks and down her neck. She was in no way embarrassed by being with Nayati. She just felt strange thinking that she was actually being courted, even though there were so many other more beautiful, and better wolves out there that she had been the one that had been picked by Nayati himself, the one she loved, and it was stranger yet to tell Sanuye that they were an item when it kind of seemed like Sanuye might have possible feelings for Nayati.

Sanuye did not really keep her eyes focused on the wolf dog as she spoke. The emptiness and loneliness in her heart was keeping her from making eye contact with the tribe member who seemed to have the most problems with her being around. She just sat there and fiddled with her fingers as she thought about what to say in response to Liliana. Sure she was there to take care of the horses, but surely the tribe members who had their horses there would come by to see them when she was there. The coyote shook her head gently as she closed her eyes half way. ”Still… surely the owners come by when you’re working right? At least you have someone around then.” She felt her tail curl around her leg as she brushed it. She wanted to just go home and try to drown all her problems away. She did not know how to deal with them. The hybrid wondered if there even was a way for her to deal with them. Perhaps she should just accept that she was not really going to see anyone else around the pack lands. She was a bit taken back when she heard the defensive tone in her voice. She did not mean to offend the female in any way. She kept her gaze to the ground and closed her eyes as she waited for the tone to fade away.

Sanuye’s eyes opened back up and moved towards the wolf dog as she explained that Nayati had been courting with her. It felt like her heart was bleeding in pain as she looked back down towards the ground. She too had feelings for Nayati, but because he was never around it seemed like she never had the chance to tell him how she felt. Her head and hair hung heavy as she tried to think of what she could say back. She could not think of anything. How could she tell Liliana that she too had feelings for the male? The coyote held her arms together and closed her eyes again, trying to hold back the tears she was feeling in her eyes. How could this be happening to her? She brought her knees up to her face and buried her face into her legs. It was all the hybrid could think of to do. She had nothing to say to the wolf dog and was not even sure what she could say back. She just sat there, trying not to cry into her own legs.

Liliana wasn’t sure what to say. So all she could do was shrug at the comment she made, sure they talked to her, but they were there for their animals not just her, if she were tending to just animals that just belonged to the tribe then she knew she would be the only one working. When she told the young woman about Nayati courting her, the whole atmosphere changed. Liliana had no idea what to say to the woman… she’d curled into a ball, and hid her face. This was something Liliana was not use to what so ever. especially since it was about a man, and it was something so very innocent, it wasn’t as though he was claimed… and yet she did feel sorry for Sanuye. She could see why the woman wanted to be mates with the man, but it wasn’t her fault that he seemed to care for Liliana, though he still had not told her he loved her, she knew that he was caring for her much more as the days passed on. Liliana was about to comfort the girl with her hand but she stopped inches away… she would blame Liliana… even though it was her fault… if she hadn’t told Nayati how she felt… she dind’t know what would happen. She just stayed quiet… letting the fire do all the talking it could for the both of them.
