[/html]Howdy!
It was quite easy, you see, to have made it so far. As his father once told him, his mind was already at the destination, his feet just needed to take him there. His mother had complained that he should've waited just one more season, until the snow started to drip off the tree branches and the sun would awaken the northern world. But to Tobias, there was no better time than the present to start his journey to where his mind already was. So Tobias had left his small family in New Brunswick shortly after the celebration of his first year. It was a large party with an all-to-do air to it, as most pups in their quaint little clan infrequently made it past that age. He had gathered up his family for his last festival and gave all his heartfelt and tearful goodbyes, and headed off, bathed with the light of the setting sun.
Now he knew he couldn't sustain himself without another pack. The one thing that could be said about Tobias Castillo was he was a social wolf. He had been on the road for a few weeks now, and he wasn't sure if he quite took to all this walking. With all this traveling and such, he had spent naught but a few days in the company of other loners, and the prospect of him staying this way was bleak at best. So he skirted through the clusters of packs looking and searching for one that would best fit him. There were some that seemed gruesome - skeletons of animals stuck to long wooden rods at the edge of strong smelling stench. However, as he continued south, they became less and less barbaric, but still drenched in the same mystery.
So here he was, at the edge of some nice looking pack territory. He caught himself from walking in, standing with his long limbs solid against the morning's frostbitten grass. He took a few beats to compose himself, tail hanging limply against his hind quarters, large frame diminutive and humble, before cocking his head back and flatting his ears against the back of his rugged head. He let out a short howl, succinct and to the point, lingering just enough to let out his true intent.

Welcome to 'Souls! ^^ wc:408 Ehno seemed to be becoming more and more keen on lingering by the lakeside these days. The calm weeks presented to the Dreamers after the struggles with AniWaya had been a blessing to receive, though the Marino was still hesitant to drift too far from the packlands for long. So he had become used to drifting aimlessly within the pack territory when not keeping a watchful eye on the borders or holing himself up within his workshop in the manor. More often than not he found himself drawn to the lakeside, enjoying the sights of the cool, still water. A man of the sea, the Italian was almost surprised to find himself becoming drawn to the stationary waters of Rabbit lake rather than the rolling waves of the sea just to the south. But these were the days of change it seemed, and Ehno was content to go with the flow. Today was another day spent beside the lake, this time with a fishing rod in hand. The homemade rod had been neglected for some time now, the Marino being otherwise occupied for the last few months. But with the peace that had seemed to tentatively settle onto the land of Dreamers once more, it seemed like as good a time as any to enjoy one of his old pastimes. His luck today had been somewhat iffy at first, but eventually the male had found where the fish seemed most eager to bite. He broke away from his sport with two moderately sized fish strung up to be carried home. He debated whether to stick around and try for a third, but another option soon presented itself to him. A howl rang in the air, seeming to emanate from the borders not far from where he was. The voice was an unfamiliar one, and it had Ehno's curiosity raising. He wrapped up the old wooden fishing rod, gathered up his catch and made his way east to the borders. The Marino went forward at a quick pace, each of his senses on alert. Within time he came upon a stranger lingering at the borders, the likely source of the call. Amber eyes gave the male a cursory glance, taking in the sight of his sturdy build and mixed coat colors. No apparent threat, but the Marino remained where he was, watching him carefully. "Ciao, stranger," he called out, accented words easy, friendly. "You've come upon the lands of Crimson Dreams."

Of course! <3 Wasn't so fast this time, I'm afraid. ;P In all the years Ehno had lived here, he had the opportunity to greet many at the borders. Friends, foes, and those seeking the comfort of a new home. This proved to be the latter, a friendly young wolf with energy and enthusiasm. The sight of an easygoing, friendly wolf put Ehno at ease, and slowly his cautious demeanor developed into something more relaxed and casual. The Marino listened with careful attentiveness as the stranger spoke. He was glad to see a friendly face, something Ehno could relate to quite well. Some days he feared to discover another attack on their territory, but it seemed those days were being put well behind them. Ehno returned the smile, shifting the fishing rod so that it leaned against his good shoulder. “I’m Ehno Marino. It's good to meet you,” he introduced in turn, tilting his head in a nod of greeting. The Dreamers were always welcoming of affable canines, and Tobi here seemed fit that well. But there was of course the business end of a meeting like this. “Well, I suppose we might have room for another member,” he began, lips raising in a bit of a teasing smile. “What might you be able to offer us in return? Any skills that you’re particularly fond of?” Standard questions for a standard encounter. With any luck, this would be a quick an easy affair. Past experiences had taught the Dreamers to be cautious, but that did not make them any less welcoming to those who proved themselves worthy. |
