OOC: Fayne learns how to swim. :3 Sorry for the length. D: / +1000

Every since stepping foot on the beach for the first time, Fayne found the place very curious. It was something she'd never seen in her life and it amused her. The salty smell of the air and the way it tasted on her tongue. The sound the waves made as they crashed down on the beach, it was something else. Today, she'd taken to exploring the strange place and in a stroke of curiosity had been traveling in Secui form. It was a tad faster than her dainty Lupus form with a bit more muscle and longer legs. Secui being far enough from human shape that she was comfortable shifting to it. She'd discovered she liked it. She traveled along the shoreline in a straight line, she didn't know where she was headed but she didn't mind. The silver beast walked to the edge of the water and arched her neck to lap up some of the water. To her displeasure it tasted exactly how it smelled, salty. She flicked her tongue in discontent of the taste, now knowing that it was not good for drinking.

She continued along the beach until she came up on a rocky path that followed the beach. The rocks were climbable so she continued. Jumping from rock to rock, traveling along the water. The waves crashed against the slippery rocks spraying her with the salty liquid. Her fur was becoming wetter as she walked and more unpleasant. Still, she continued. Her thirst for adventure driving her forward. What would she find if she continued?

The rocks were becoming more jagged and taller, harder to climb in this four legged form. If this continued she'd be forced to turn around. She leaped from one rock to the next, the gaps becoming increasingly larger and more difficult to jump across. The landscape was challenging her and she gladly accepted. She would not be showed up by a few slippery rocks. Ahead, she could see another beach. She wouldn't have to travel much further until she was on safe ground again. She scurried up and over a few more rocks with much difficulty, digging her large claws where she could. They were slippery though, hard to catch any kind of traction. Two rocks left to climb until the warm soft sand sifted between her toes again, it would be a welcome feeling. After that, the rocks began to gradually decline until they reached the beach and the water calmed with the decline. Waves becoming softer.

She stood atop the last tall rock. "Uh-oh" The gap was almost too large to cross, the leap would have to be a precise one. She stood there for a few minutes, calculating the exact movement she would need to land on and remained balanced. Then, she took her leap. It was now or never, right? Even though she could have just turned back. Her front paws hit the rock, back legs coming up behind her to gracefully come to a stop. Safe. She'd done it. She proceeded to the next rock, confident of her skills. Unfortunately the next rock was a incredibly slippery and she had neglected to be careful. Her paw slipped causing her to dip forward. She reached her other front paw out to catch her balance only to realize it was too late. She was forced to launch herself into cold salty water to avoid hitting herself on the rocks. She'd never swam before. The impact startled her, forcing her to struggle in the water as she was swayed back and forth by the waves. The salty solution found it's way into her nose, mouth, and down her throat. She was gasping to catch a breath of air.

Her four paws kicked underneath her as she desperately tried to stay above the water, the webs between her toes finally had a use. The panic soon subsided when she finally figured it out. After a few seconds of struggle she found that kicking her legs in a paddle like motion would result in keeping her afloat, it was instinct. She was swimming. The silver wolf made her way further from the rocks, being pushed up against them every now and then by a harsh wave until she was able to clear them. She had to pump her feet extra hard to stay above and it hurt to be slammed against the hard stones. Her muscular appendages served her well in this form. If she had been in Lupus form she would be in a lot of trouble. Her small body would have been tattered with push against the rocks. Eventually she cleared the rocks and was swimming out beyond the waves, she could just see the beach above the water.

How was she to get to the shore with all those waves? The she wolf hesitated for a few moments, thinking of another way to get to shore. There was none. She was going to have to let the waves carry her to the shore. She paddled herself far enough so that a wave was coming from behind, panic struck her once again unsure what was going to happen. The wave picked her up and carried her a few yards before it curled over on top of her, forcing her underneath the water. She came up, gasping for air only to have another wave come crashing down over her head. She tumbled within the powerful motion of the wave. Held captive the the water. She held her breath the best she could and tried to wait it out. Coming up for air whenever she got the chance. Eventually she could feel the sand underneath her and she scuffled to catch herself on solid ground. A few more soft waves coming over her head before she could catch a good breath of air.

The struggle had tired her out, she could barely get herself to shore, still catching her breath. The skinny wet creature walked up on to the warm beach. A deep sigh of relief escaping her lips. She turned around to face her opponent which, unfortunately, had defeated her. A huff of discontent escaped her, she was freezing cold at the moment. Her usually fluffy fur coat was pressed down to her body showing off her figure underneath. She was just a dainty thing. But, she had learned her lesson not to mess with the ocean. It was a dangerous thing only to be admired from the shore.
