Why was she here? Anu hadn’t been back to the pack land since leaving. The thought brought a shameful feeling to her. She had left to be with a woman she loved, to help raise her children and to be happy. But now she retreated from that comforting place to where Anu had first started out, looking for another. Looking for her heart, a search that was most certainly futile. Though no longer did she live in the dark hole she had dug for herself. It hadn’t been long since crawling out from its captivity, adn the sun still seemed to glare into her soul, as it would if her eyes had been shroud and she was stepping out into the daylight for the first time in days.
The valley wasn’t to far, and the miles disintegrated under to paws. Having avoided the city, it had taken her on a more roundabout path but she powered on until she found it. The road the led into the territory was familiar, and Anu almost smiled at the thought of finally making it to her destination. She hesitated, before stepping over the boundary that told her whose land it was. Anu came in peace, and in plan view. Her body language was neutral, the mutual understanding that she didn’t belong but wasn’t looking from trouble written in her form. Slight paws moved over the beaten road, and eyes took in the sight of all the things that hadn’t really changed.
