The girl bounced up and down in excitement, and Baby Duck with his looong neck waddled around all over the place, affected by the turmoil that his strange wolf mommy was stirring. On top of Noir’s head was her new hat, the one they had found in the home where Uncle Ho and Noir now had planned to live. Well, technically it was his home, but Noir had decided that she would live there too, because now she was almost adult looking and she had a new shiny rank that said that she was not a pure child anymore so it was time for her to move out and become independent. Independent by moving in with her uncle, probably against his will.. Uncle Ho had found another hat for her that was almost identical to his own, but the moment Noir Aston had laid eyes on the Totoro hat, she had not spared the Ho-twin hat another glance. She knew what she wanted, and now this was her hat and it made her look oh so pretty.

The blonde Aston girl bounced around and around the basket until she became dizzy and almost stepped on Baby Duck. In the basket was Toefur, because the girl had decided that he would like to come with them too. ”Uncle Hooo, come oooon!” the girl complained loudly, her eagerness getting the best of her. She wanted berries berries berries berries berries lots of berries! Perhaps they could eat berryfish for dinner. Om nom, that sounded nice. Noir liked her Uncle’s cooking, especially this ketchup thing that he had introduced. It was super yummy and made her taste buds sing. Right now he was super slow though, and the girl groaned with impatience. What if everyone else took all the berries so that there would be none left for Noir and her uncle? That would be such a shame. Now when they had their own house, it was important that they found their own food!

Afternoons were dedicated to relaxation, hence why Honoré’s initial plans had revolved around a nice siesta. As of late though, nothing went according to his wishes. No one had ever warned him that having a niece could be so exhausting at times! It felt as though his life revolved around her. Was this how things were supposed to be for an uncle? Because he couldn’t recall any of his uncles spending so much time with him as a child. As a matter of fact, he couldn’t even remember their names! If having nieces and nephews required so much of his time, he sure was thankful for having only one of them (that he knew of). In reality, Honoré had six. Six little brats! Four were Tayui’s, and two were Aurèle’s. It was a little bizarre, how no one had notified him of the other children in his family. In his mind, Noir was the only one, even though it often felt as if there were six of her.

The Québécois did not feel like picking berries; he’d tried ignoring the brat at first, but no such luck! Noir had earned several of her mother’s traits, and persistence was one of them. So he took plenty of time gathering his things, dragging his feet wherever he went, mimicking a dying man’s enthusiasm. He probably would’ve anticipated their little outing if he hadn't tasted blueberries before. His taste buds never forgot food that made its way to his stomach. He remembered it all too well; blueberries did not taste good at all! They were a little too sour for his personal taste. Little did he know, other kinds of berries existed as well! Red ones, as he would soon come to realize, tasted like heaven.

“Hey, you stop complain or I’m put grass in my ears. Then I’m won’t hear you no more.” he warned just as loudly, stepping out of his newly acquired cottage. There was no way he’d wiggle himself out of this trip; it was best to just get it over with. So he started walking in a random direction, hoping Noir would redirect him if needed. He had no clue where the berry fields were.

Why was he so grumpy? He could not spend all his time inside his stupid house. Noir wanted berries and that was that. The girl was starting to feel the guilt, the guilt that came with the refusal to hunt. It did not mean that she did not want to help, it just made her unhappy to think about hurting animals like that. The season was right for berries, and she had not really tasted them before, so she was very eager to try this out. It could also mean that she might for once be useful for the pack. Uncle Ho needed to come out as well and get to know this home of theirs anyways. It was a nice day for once as well, and she wanted to spend the day outside. She gave a bark at the man when he finally came out, posing with her new hat, but receiving no compliments. Why would he put grass in his ears.

”If you put grass in your ears your brain could not breathe!” the girl said back at his sour reply, but he was already on his way. A whining sound sounded from the girl in frustration when he strode away in his always random direction without taking the basket. Did he not know that she could not carry as well as him since she was in her plain form? She picked up the basket with her toy and followed after, golden eyes staring accusingly at his back and stupid girly bum. ”Uncle Ho, backet ich heavy fohr mee!” the girl complained noisily. She had expected him to carry it and he did not because he was lazy and did not seem to wish to do this. Why not! The girl sped up and bumped into her uncle’s feet.
