something of dreams and legends

Picking her way along the rocky outcropping, her destination was a castle looming in the fading light of the evening. Her eyes had been set on this stone building for at least an hour now, as she carefully traversed the dipping valleys and the rocky foothills leading up to this strange creation. The youth had never seen a castle before; and as she stood, breathing hard from her journey, tongue lolling and face generally smiling from accomplishing this feat, she wondered about the history of such a magnificently built building.

Drawing closer, she wasn’t particularly wary of her surroundings, nor did she become more apprehensive as night began to quickly descend upon the land. Silverfox simply wandered about the outside of the castle, drawing her long fingers pensively against the slick tendrils of ivy covering the walls. She reached the large front doors, partly wilted away with time, so she entered without any effort.

The inside was much more exquisite than the outside; dilapidated and scented of a powerful mold and must, but it had a much more interesting view. High-up windows, winding staircases, doorways leading to who knows; it was all such a new experience. Silverfox considered this a place to rest for the night, but it would seem as if she didn’t have much of a choice, seeing as in her lapse of attention, storm clouds had gathered more strongly, and a storm began to thunder down on the outside of Blackmoor Castle. Sighing, the studded youth continued sniffing around, trying to ignore the sounds of thunder, lightning, and the steady pound of water against the windows.

hi, i'm alli :]

It was the sort of eve that made the young woman think of the white collared male. She was out of place, among the human creations and ignorant to any that might be watching. A chill had set in the thick damp air, the sun had begun to fall before she was ready to see it go and her fur bristled at the bone cold feeling she was given. The Church girl was far from home, farther then she had ventured in some time. But instead of dwelling on the thoughts of where she should be, she focused on where she was. Violet eyes looked up at the tattered curtains, and the pattern made her eager to feel their texture. Curious as always Mati ventured close to the window, picking at the tattered window treatment, the fabric almost falling to threads in her hand.

A noise, so very slight, made her turn her head. Eyes looked to the doorway, the heavy dark wood had been opened just enough for the large form to move into the room. Bright eyes looked though the dark, and the storm’s wind threw itself against the window with force. The cautious woman began to wonder what she was doing here, tentatively using her nose to search for the maker of the soft sounds. She half expected to see the vision of the pied male, though his death made such a thing impossible. The room closed in around her, the lack of light seemed to make the dark seep from the stone walls and surround her. Paws moved from the gathering pool of darkness, and the Dreamer headed for the door.

The mortared stone was cold beneath her foot-paws, and she walked slowly and quietly over them. Part of her wished to reach the exit, the storm a more comforting companion then the unknown beast that shared the castle with her. And yet, she wondered who it was that unknowingly joined her in the castle exploration.

Silv hugged herself against the drawing darkness. She wandered around slowly, her feet shuffling lightly against the cold, dusty stone floors. The dark female came to an unopened door tucked in the corner of the large foyer area. Curiosity held her in a second, and she opened the door to reveal a plethora of fur coats, each with their own special scent of moth balls. Just as she reached to touch the biggest and darkest coat (probably once a part of a bear), a sound that was not her own echoed softly in the empty area.

Or… at least she had thought it was empty.

Hello? she called out, hesitating if only for the simple fact that she wasn’t sure she had heard anything at all. Anyone there? Her silver eyes glinted in the darkness, trying to asses shapes or anything moving. Self-consciously she drew the large coat from inside the closet, lest she need it for any sort of defense. Silv quietly stepped away from the open closet, trying to see in the gathering gloom, who was out there.

hi Van!! ...it'll be FUN!...

The fur on the back of her neck rose, spiking and rising with the bumps that formed on her skin. She felt her arms wrap around her chest, hands feeling the scars that littered her forearms. The chill grew deeper in her bones as she wandered through the dark hall that she hoped would bring her to the exit. The storm rolled though the night’s sky, the rumble of thunder seemly bellow as it was certainly above. Distant windows were lit by the lightning that accompanied it’s rumbling mate.

Violet eyes widened, a voice in the distance. Unsure if it was her imagination that spoke to her, or the stones of the caste awakening from the electrically charged air. But then, ears perked and her pace paused. The voice again, real and true among the dust and rubble of the castle.
“Hello?” The Dreaming Captain spoke, turning the corner slowly. It was a female voice that had called to her, and yet in the shadow of night, and the tall narrow hall Mati saw a figure that told her one thing. Corvus. But he was dead.

Lungs full of trapped air rushed from her lips as she screamed in a way she had never done before.
