for Bris! Fae's in wolf form, just so you know. 300+

The wood of the harbor floor was cold beneath her snowy paws; it felt frozen, yet there was no moisture there. It was simply cold. Everything appeared so gray, from the sky to the murky water to even the planks underfoot. It was chilly outside, and it was beautiful, even cast in gray such as it was. Fae barely felt the cold, and where she did it felt good. She loped slowly to the end of the dock listening to her claws scrape against that cold wood floor, listening to the water suck at the rotting, moss-covered poles that held up the dock.

She was getting used to being here. It was nice; she'd never lived in a pack with such expansive borders. She felt completely free, as if she owned the place. She could chose to live anywhere she wanted, in the dilapidated town or in the very buildings that skirted the harbor. But the latter made her quite uneasy - they were frighteningly empty. Fae wouldn't have cared, living by herself, but the vibes of the school and library and little shops were almost haunting. This was why she was stoned a lot of the time (and she was now); so that she felt those vibes and so that they could subsequently push her away from unhappy places. Now, staring into the water, the wolf wondered where her life would take her next. Where she should take her life next. There was much to do for herself, but oh, the water below was wonderful to stare at. She pictured scenarios, gruesome ones involving the war. She was never one for a lot of bloodshed, but she'd developed a taste for it after her scuffle with that idiot Nala. How fun it would be, to have fought him here, and thrown him into the depths of the empty, gray water.

There'd been somewhat of a warmer spell for the past few days. Some of the snow that had covered the area had begun to melt, and though it still clung in patches to the wet, drab ground, it wasn't as pretty as when it had freshly fallen. Where she had gotten used to blending perfectly into the winter surroundings like a ghost, Bris now looked more like a graceful, wolf-shaped snowdrift moving across the brown earth. Her paws were muddy from where she'd passed over warmer ground, and little dribble of watery mud dripped from her belly and lower chest. It was the only downfall to living in the wooded area of Dahlia, where her brother-in-law had built his treehouse so long ago now. Bris loved living in the little wooden structure with her older sister (who'd been curiously absent more and more of late), but it was definitely a bit messier than the towns were when the snow had started to melt.

There was no true destination for the girl's outing today. Since being made aware of the ongoing war, the young Stormbringer had made it part of her duty to perform a daily border check regardless of her lack of an official co-rank. Dahlia meant the world to her sister, and it had begun to mean the same to her, and Bris was determined to do whatever she could to aid in its protection. After all, she was the very product of war. It ran through her veins as surely as the river ran seaward.

It was inevitable that the white girl would eventually end up crossing along the shore of the harbor. Its familiar buildings and docks came into view, their faded brown wooden tones melding with the drab and dreary greyness of the atmosphere. The clouds overhead were thick and absolute; not a single ray of sunshine gave away the golden orb's true position in the heavens. The heady scent of coming snow permeated the air, but Bris had a feeling it was still aways off. As she nonchalantly carried on her merry way past the dock, a sudden abnormality in the dock's form caught her eye. Turning her mismatched gaze for a better look, she noticed a young wolf staring dreamily into the dark water. Curious, and not on any time limit or schedule, Bris cocked her head and trotted over in the other wolf's direction. Her black claws clicked quietly against the worn wood as she slowed her pace and stopped a few feet to the stranger's side. "This place is pretty even on the most depressing days, don't you think?" The Stormbringer kept her uneven gaze on the water below as she spoke, not wanting to put pressure on the stranger if she wasn't in the mood for conversation.

Sorry this is so short. :/

The click of a canine's claws send Fae's mind whirling, paranoia causing her muscles to draw taut beneath her skin; why would a creature so quietly approach unless there was malice in its mind? As the stranger approached, Fae stood upright, casting her brilliant gaze over her shoulder to stiffly, unwillingly look at the trespasser. When she took in the pale, feminine form, the mismatched jewels vibrant against snowy fur, her unease washed away from her like a warm bath. Fae didn't want to look away and so she didn't, studying the woman, her dry eyes watering as she failed to blink. She was so comforted by the familiar scent, without the coyote taint of Inferni, now her sworn enemy as long as the war lasted. She had nothing more to concern herself with at the moment, and felt silly for being so frightened by the stranger's quiet, unobtrusive approach.

The words were conversational and friendly, easing the gray girl's nerves into complete bliss. She saw company as a medium of entertainment, or else she would have made the femme go away from her. And while she could have sat there on the dock until her high faded away and been perfectly content, the striking woman's presence felt okay.
"It is beautiful. You've been here before?" with her eyes wandering across the bay before them. That the frosty wolf had been here on a previous occasion could be easily assumed, Fae wished to keep their words running smoothly. "My name is Fae."
