15.10.12 . 8am . vinatta shoreline . optime form . the boat

The damage from the hurricane was mostly cleared. His meeting with Thorn had highlighted the multitude of ways their brewery would need fixing, but that was much more of an on-going project than a simple fix up. It would take time to replace the boards and make it usable again, but Thorn had reassured him that when it was usable, he had the skills to utilise said brewery. The vineyard would take longer to be up and running- after they managed to clear the weeds away, the vineyard wouldn't be productive until next summer, when the grapes were ripe and ready to be turned into wine.

The pups were growing at a rate that made them practically expand before his eyes and Saul delighted in coming home now to the scampering paws of the six of them. Colibri had once again taken a room in their home and Saul was delighted she felt comfortable there. He knew there was a security there for her- she'd been so weak when the hurricane had hit that he worried constantly about her and her daughters. After taking over one of the rooms, and the development of both litters into walking, seeing sentient beings, their home had been plagued by stampeding pups. He thought Lilin and Colibri were even closer and they seemed to take comfort in the others proximity and support.

He'd woken this morning wrapped around his mate and he thought perhaps they weren't drifting apart so much anymore. Now that the pups were here, not irritating his love by kicking her ribs around and hurting her, she seemed cheerier. After squeezing her half to death, a teasing chuckle emitted from his lips when she'd shoved his face away with a smile of her own, he'd risen and checked on the family, poking his head around Coli's door to see if she was alright. His early morning run had taken him towards the shoreline this morning, a territory rarely explored by the Vináttans.

Toes splitting and sinking through the sand, he moved at a jog across the relatively flat beach. It was then that a bulking form caught his eye, a dark rotund shape on the beach. Green eyes narrowed softly and he moved forward, black nose twitching furiously. He could detect only the briny stench of the sea and it took him a few moments to recognise the shape. An overturned boat, large in size he thought. Circling the vessel, he could see that it wasn't an old boat. He thought perhaps Luperci-made, due to the apparent newness of the wood, but it was well made, the craftsman-ship exquisite.

Green eyes wide, he began to study the overturned boat with interest. There was a huge hole in the hull of the boat, punching straight through to show the sun-kissed sand below. The pole on which held the sail of the boat was snapped in two it seemed from the awkward angle it splayed out from the overturned boat. While the damage was extensive- he could see damage from most parts of the hull but there was enough left to give the male hope that it would be able to be fixed. With a grin, the male turned back towards Jordheim, going to round up some troops to help in getting the boat the right way up and an attempt at trying to fix it.
