Staff Bulletin - DECEMBER & JANUARY
Organized alphabetically by topic

Affiliates

Some discussing regarding our affiliates and the current state of affairs took place; several were considered for removal on basis of presumed inactivity. New affiliates were sought after.

Anathema Pack Formation

The formation of the Anathema pack was approved, on the provision that all SA members cannot use sparkletext for the next six months; Sie is currently staging an underground sparkletext revolution, wherein all sparkles, regardless of sparkliness, shininess, or iridescence, are accepted and loved. TAKE THAT, KIRI!!!11one!!!1!! LATER NOTE: Oh baby, the revolution ain't underground no more! >:O

AniWaya Spirit Guides & Supernatural Guide

A series of questions on the Formspring prompted an in-depth discussion about spirit guides allowance for members outside of AniWaya, which coincided with the drafting and heavy revising of the in-progress Supernatural Guide for the RP Guide. The discussion was extended to Marit to ensure that decisions made maintained AniWaya's uniqueness, and final policies were reflected with the release of the Supernatural Guide.

Auxiliary Character Requests

One second, eight third character, one fourth, one fifth, and two sixth character requests were approved. Three third characters were denied.

Character/Pack Ratio

The character/pack ratio has been updated from 15:1 to 20:1 to promote expansion and growth within existing packs and to keep up with membership and activity trends. The ratio may become more flexible in the future and fluctuate based on similar trends.

Litter Requests

Several litter requests were approved.

Lykoi Star

Deemed unfair, the Lykoi Star icon will no longer be given freely to new members of the family. Existing members who have already been given their icon will be allowed to keep them.

New Buttons and Stickers

Designs for new 'Souls buttons and stickers were approved and ordered. These items will be included in 'Souls Tangible Prize Packs for future contests and promotions.

Open Characters Clean-Up

The Open Characters List was cleaned up and reorganized slightly, with new guidelines in place to keep listings more concise and neat. A suggestion was also made by a member to occasionally spotlight open characters to help promote adoption.

Pack Game Points

A lengthy discussion was had in regards to pack game points and whether they can be transferred between characters or between packs. Leaders were brought into the conversation and it was eventually decided that 1) pack points can be transferred and used freely between characters by the same player in the same pack; however, they cannot be used on characters outside of the pack, and 2) if a character changes packs or dies, transfer of pack points to the character's new pack, or the player's new character's pack, is allowed only if the leaders of both packs approve.

Plot Page Update

The Plot page was rewritten slightly to include more details and attributes of the game itself and to provide clarifications for points that are often confused.

Procedures Update

Many portions of the Procedures topic were revised for simplicity and clarity. A few additional procedures were also added, such as the ability for members to appeal for an additional allotted puppy.

PV Icon Update

After some deliberation, a request to update the Phoenix Valley pack icon was approved for a re-draw under the reasoning that it isn't a change of design, just an update of the same design.

Secret Santa 2010

Secret Santa was launched and hosted per usual. Members who failed to turn in their assignments were placed on the contest/event ban list, to be removed when the assignment is complete.

Studios & Shops Guidelines

Guidelines for the Studios and Shops subforum of Talents were written in order to better facilitate the purposes of the subforum and hopefully help things run more smoothly.

Territory Topics

A revamp of the territory topics was discussed and implemented.

Yearbook

A short discussion was held in regards to continuing the yearbook in its traditional fashion or moving it to the Wiki, which is more easily editable by members. With input from the mods, it was decided to keep things as-is, though the yearbook sites should be moved to a CMS platform like the RP Guide to facilitate easier editing by the staff. This is why the yearbook was launched several days late.

The CMS conversion took place, and there's now a shiny back-end to the Yearbook, allowing for moderators to assist in the yearbook process. In addition, the 2006 yearbook was redesigned, implementing a new layout rather than the really icky old thing that was there before. Also, Sie is questioning why every single entry was in its own individual table, and why those tables didn't use CSS to size them or the table cells. WAT.

SUPERPRODUCTIVE 'SA CHAT

Most of the 'SA sat in on a four-hour, ULTRA-PRODUCTIVE AWESOME CHAT that resulted in all of this getting done -- AND MORE! -SUPER-SA-FLEX-

Mateship and Reproduction Changes

The 'SA discussed various aspects relevant to mateships and reproduction. A few different questions were discussed. Polyamorous mateships (mateships between multiple characters) are allowed. The minimum time between litters for a female character is twenty (20) weeks. The inter-pack mateships rule was revisited, and it was decided that it should remain as-is. Realistically, wolves do not mate between packs, and at this time adding incentive for Loners to remain Loners would not be prudent.

CORRECTIONS

When the bulletin was first released, the Mateship and Reproduction changes incorrectly listed 20 weeks as the MAXIMUM time between litters. 20 weeks is, of course, the minimum time between litters.
