Set in Savina's den room, first floor of the mansion. Cambria is with her. First reply goes to Kansas but after that it is open to friends and family :3 300+

Savina knew her time was close and so she had stuck mostly around her den room for the past couple days. The last thing she wanted was to be out away from the mansion when the time came and so sticking to where she was comfortable to give birth seemed like the best idea to her. She had chosen the same room that she had picked for her last birth. Everything had gone well in there the last time and she trusted that it would this time as well. Also thankfully, she would not be without a healer either. While she hadn't required any assistance in labor her first time, it was always good to be prepared. Cambria was still learning the ropes, but she knew that nothing would stop her daughter from keeping her and the next generation of Marinos safe. Currently the mother-to-be and her grown child were talking casually in the room. It warmed her heart to see that whatever had been bothering her daughter had seemed to have dissipated and now there was only excitement for the miracle to come.

Laughing merrily at something Cambria had said, the woman suddenly paused as a small tremor shook her enlarged abdomen. Cambi asked if everything was okay and Savina nodded, shaking away her girl's concern. It had only been one, it wouldn't be time until the contractions started coming regularly. A few more minutes passed as another one hit her, stronger this time than the last. Sable face scrunched up in discomfort and Cambria once again expressed her worry. The mother explained to her daughter that everything was fine, it was just part of the process. Though when another tremor wracked her body she knew that it was no false alarm. Easing down to her side, emerald eyes looked up towards her daughter. "It's time, go find your father," she instructed, her breath coming heavier now. The chocolate girl hesitated for a moment, not wanting to leave her mother by herself, but she knew her father would be close and she would not be gone long. She took off to find him, heart thudding with anxiety and excitement.

Yaaaay! 300+

Cambria seemed to know exactly where to find him, because she entered his room with the news of what was happening immediately. He sensed her excitement when she came through the door, and knew that it had not subsided since Savina told her that she was going into labor. Kansas' pale eyes widened and he sat up on the bed, jumping to the floor with a groan from the mattress. He was all smiles to his daughter, thanking her as they went back downstairs in the room where she'd been born last year.

His mind and body were reeling with all sorts of emotions; he could not possibly have explained how he felt as he entered the den room and found Savina there. Approaching her swiftly, Kansas nuzzled her cheek, wanting nothing more than to lie down in front of her and bathe her with positive and encouraging words. But there were other things to do first. "I'll... alert everyone," he said through the scattered clutter of his thoughts. Unable to stop smiling, he exited the room and ran to the front door, deftly pulling it ajar with a front paw. There, he stood half in the mansion and half outside, throwing his pale maw skyward and emitting a joyful summons in his oddly beautiful voice. Now, the Dreamers who heard him would surely come to witness the miracle at hand.

He was happy, but as soon as the howl had sounded Kansas shifted into his two-legged form, pivoted and ran back to the den room, sniffing Savina to make sure she was still all right. He cast a glance and Cambria; she would be the one to help should complications occur, and he was ever so glad that she was there. He wanted to ensure she had what she needed, but he trusted her enough to keep his mouth shut. Instead, the boy settled into a seated position behind his mate, resting his hand upon her shoulder. Hopefully his touch would soothe her. "I love you," He couldn't believe that it was time, that their newest puppies were almost there with them.

Anu + Mati Big Grin

The two females walked side by said, their conversation nothing but casual banter. It was not often that Anu spoke alone with her earthen daughter, and though the young woman did not give her much to let light shine onto her life Anu avoided asking too many questions and stuck to making sure that she was at least well. Mati walked beside her, eyes looking to the landscape as if she was constantly distracted. Anu wondered, wishing to ask but reframed. And instead they spoke of the weather, or the war, and of days past and memories that held good feelings.

It was then that a male voice called. Heads turned, then eyes looked to one another. It was not a call that spoke of trouble, but still the females took to their paws and began to run. Being close to the mansion was something they both seemed to be doing lately, and it took only a few moments for them to appear at the door. Anu slipped inside, her eyes looking to the room where she knew Savina would be settled. As before the Commander welcomed them all to be present, and Anu approached slowly and yet steadily. She worried for the female, but her excitement and confidence that she would be alright was far more dominant.

The two wolfesses settled close by, their faces wearing a matched anticipation. Blue eyes looked to her adoptive daughter, who had been present the last time Savina had given birth. Of course she had been much younger, but Mati looked on with a focused gaze, her instincts always keen to the mothering aspects of life. Everything seemed to be going alright, confidences high and anxiety low. Anu remained silent, a simple encouraging presence.

WEWT! Big GrinD Puppies!!
Wc: 819~

Out for her daily wandering, the dust-coloured fae had done the complete opposite action than her sister, needing to pace around and move her body even when such an important time was descending upon the Marinos. Ghita's small paws had taken her to the shores of Rabbit Lake, the need for wandering dictating that she hug the shoreline until the looming windmill came into sight. Letting out a soft sigh, she had lain beside the melting lake for almost an hour, letting the light breeze ruffle her fur.

Would things be any different this time around? The mother couldn't help wondering, seeing as the situations were so similar. It hadn't been all that long ago that her ebony sister had birthed pups, although all three of her offspring had grown into themselves in such a small amount of time. With troubled storms brewing in her turquoises, Ghita lay her head in her hands, able to remember the exact day that Cambria, Amata, and Gotham had been born. The births of her sister's children had been hard on her soul, her heart still mending from the loss of her own pups.

But this time it was different. Ghita had two beautiful children of her own, Sophia Knight and Aro Marino, who were healthy and lovely, a stark contrast from her first litter. These two, along with her mate, had fully occupied any room left in her heart for grieving. However, the emotions surrounding the birthing would be quite the same, the familiarity of the scene calling upon unwanted memories.

Letting out another heavy sigh, the woman rose slowly to her paws, turning her frame back towards the mansion. And minute now, Savina could slip into labor, and Ghita - her own sister wouldn't know it more than she knew what a deer in Inferni territory was doing! Snorting her annoyance, the woman set off at a trot, passing Old Red with an expected swirl of happy emotions. Had it been that long ago since she launched herself into the hay with her light-hearted niece, Amata? It seemed almost like yesterday to her.

Her traveling brought her thoughts towards Savina's older litter, wondering how they would react to the new puppies. From what she'd heard, Cambria was happy to have more siblings, but one never could be sure. Ghita only had Ehno and Savina in this world, and Russo, if you counted their half-sibling. The woman scarcely seemed to be around enough to develop a bond worthy of becoming jealous of, but, as she resolved, this time would be different. If only Ehno was still with them, and if the whole tension between him and Cambria would sink away... Then, maybe Ghita would be the happiest she'd ever been. But in this moment, with more of her family around than usual? She was pretty damn close.

The Manor was looming into sight, proud and majestic as it had stood on the first day she arrived when Ghita registered Kansas' happy howl. Yelping in surprise, her mind was quick to judge the meaning, legs pounding as she ran across the remaining distance. Her heart was thudding now, not just from the exercise, but the fear that still lingered. Any pregnancy could go wrong, she knew that all too well. And if things took a turn for the worse, Ghita wanted to be there. And by the Gods, it would take a team of wild horses to keep her away!

Launching herself up the same stairs Cambria had healed her on, the Optimed fae arrived in a tempest of fur and flying clothes, the sari she had taken to wearing swirling as Ghita clung to the doorframe, spinning into the room none too subtly. Panting almost more than the birthing mother herself, the sister immediately ran to Savina, kneeling beside Kansas as she quickly looked her sister over. Unfortunately, Ghita hadn't managed to get to know her sister's mate too well, a fact that she very much regretted now. However, a hand found itself patting his paw once, a giddy smile concealing the fear and worry that lay in her heart.

Attention turning to Cambria, she gave her niece a smile too, although one filled with more warmth than she had given Kansas. The woman knew that her niece was learning healing (and quite successfully - her own cut had healed over with little complication), but couldn't help but wonder how many births she had actually been at. A veteran by now, Ghita wanted to reassure Cambria that the weight of the world was not on her shoulders today - there were many people here to help her out. "Ran here.. From Windmill." She panted, the broken English accented by pants that had not yet subsided, before she turned to Savina again, feeling relatively useless. "How are you feeling so far, sorella?"

This post is really funky, but whatevs. Yay puppies! Big Grin 345

Ehno’s woodworking hobby once again relentlessly held onto his attention, leading him to spend quite a few hours each day within his workshop. Overall, it was probably for the best that it rooted him in place and held firmly onto his attention. He could focus solely on his work and keep away the numerous troublesome thoughts that haunted him while idle, and spending so much time within his workshop meant that he could be close by when the newest little Marino’s decided it was time to enter the world. The Marino man had been pleasantly surprised once again when Savina had shared the news of her newest litter with him, and these couple of months seemed to just fly by. The newest little additions to their family could be expected any day now.

When Kansas sent forth a thrilled call just outside the manor, Ehno paused in his work, ears perking. He let out an excited bark when he realized what the call meant, nearly dropping the small chiseling tool he held in his hand. An bright smile lit up his features as he took a few moments to set aside all of his tools and his little project before stepping out into the hallway and heading straight for his sister’s den.

When he arrived, he found that family and close friends had already shown up, each with soft smiles and looks of excitement lighting up their features. Ehno greeted those gathered with a simple nod of his head before silently stepping to the side near the doorway, wanting to keep out of the way. Amber gaze focused upon the small group huddled close to Savina. Cambria hovered nearby, evidently confident in her developing skills as a healer to help out. The last time he had stood here, she and her siblings were the ones arriving into the world. Now she was so grown up, here now to help her mother and new siblings should they need it. He gave the two parents a proud smile and prepared for the arrival of another wonderful miracle.

PUPPIESSSS 8D 500+

As she had suspected, it wasn't long until she heard the pounding of rushing feet and Kansas burst into the room, his clear excitement giving her strength. He knelt near her and her tail wagged, managing to place a loving kiss on his muzzle. No matter how well things seemed to be going, there was always a risk and fear that came along with childbirth but having him beside her gave her confidence. He explained that he would go to alert the pack and she silently nodded, glad that he would do the task. Cambria knelt down near her mother's rear, ready to assist in the birth. She had brought down all the supplies she might possibly need days ago and had had Dawali tutor her on what to expect and do. Still, the girl had never been so nervous before when it came to performing her healer duties. Savina glanced back at her daughter, smiling reassuringly. "Don't worry, it will all go fine," she said as much for her own piece of mind as Cambria's. The slender girl nodded her head, steeling her nerves.

Kansas returned and sat down beside her once more. The gentle pressure on her shoulder had the desired effect, and she felt her mind shake off the worries to focus solely on bringing her new pups safely into the world. "I love you too," she said somewhat breathlessly, the contractions becoming more frequent and intense with each passing moment. Her keen ears picked up on the sounds of two entering the room, but she kept her eyes closed to help remain centered. Sensitive nose told her that it was Anu and Mati, and she was so glad to know they were here. More hurried steps heralded her sister, who was breathing nearly as hard as she was. Emerald orbs opened to look up at Ghita, a smile curving her lips. "I'm doing fine," she assured. Pain was just a part of the process, as her sibling knew all too well. The pain would only last a short time though, and thanks to it she would have a lifetime of new joys.

Finally her brother, Ehno came and stood near the back of the room. Their eyes met for a moment in silent greeting and gratitude before a very powerful tremor wracked her from. Savina's eyes winced shut and her jaw clamped. It wouldn't be long now. Panting heavily during her brief reprieve another strong wave washed over her and she whined, beginning to push her new children towards the open world. Moments of effort ticked by when finally the first tiny form slid into existence. Cambria picked up the tiny mottled form in a soft cloth and rubbed it dry, making sure it's mouth and nostrils were opened and taking air. Then for a moment the girl look down, stunned that it was her sibling resting in her careful hands. She announced it was a boy and handed the squirming newborn over to her father.

Kansas barely moved. He remained in that same position of a gentle caress, hoping that his love might sink into her through their touch, igniting strenght. Childbirth made him nervous, though he'd only experienced it with Savina. That was why it made him nervous, actually; he was extremely concerned because if something went wrong, surely he would feel lost. He didn't want her to be in any more pain than was normal during this struggle. Fortunately, his love wasn't by itself. A few wolves of Crimson Dreams heeded his call, Anu and Mati arriving first. The corners of his dark lips turned into a smile as turquoise eyes watched the mother-daughter pair faithfully settle nearby.

Savina's siblings were the next to arrive, Ghita followed by Ehno. He a bit surprised (but thrilled all the same) to see that the earth-toned wolf had decided to come, aware of the uncomfortable feelings that lingered between him and Cambria as well as Savina. That he had the humility to come showed the true warmth of Ehno's heart. Kansas readily turned his complete attention back to his pained mate; he hated to see her hurting. His eyes widened as a vicious contraction shook her slender body. Snowy snout trailed up her shoulder and neck to her cheek, which he licked softly. And then, Cambria held his son in her hands.

Kansas looked at the boy who lay within one of his white hands, a silvery bundle of wiggling fur. He was energetic, and beautiful, and wonderful. The pale wolf nuzzled the puppy, overjoyed and completely shocked by the life within the tiny body. He kept his senses alert to both his son and Savina, because surely the next puppy was on his or her way. He wished to protect both Savina and the newborn until the end of the birth.

Just something short Big Grin

The room's energy was buzzing, both with excitement and with anxiety. But, only few beasts spoke and there was a silence that echoed right along side of the radiating energy. Anu sat, calm and silent. She believed that the moment must be savored, something that should and would be remembered forever. She was happy to sit to the side of her leader, present if there was anything that might be needed. Eyes glanced to her daughter, who watched with the same intention. The brown wolfess fidgeted, moving closer to see the male pup that Cambria held. Her tail waved softly, and Anu felt her own wag as the pups father welcomed him to his new world.

OOC: Sorry for lateness and butting in front of Katie XD <3

WC:300+

Family had always been a key word used around the mansion. When he was little he had been one of many pups running around, one little paw after the other. Now, Savina and “Kansas' kids were growing up and Aro and Sophia were starting to explore. Just how far the two had gone was beyond the fathers knowledge, nor would knowing help his anxiety at any rate. It was best just to let them be. After all, they were good kids, had the Knight morals drilled into them from birth. So, today was left to himself, or rather to boarder patrol. This was simply the easiest and best suited job for Jazper, walking around scaring off anything that dared cross into Crimson Dreams territory. He also managed to bring home some sort of prey every day for the family to share.

Gently kicking a small rock the two year old warrior stopped in his tracks. Lifting his head he stood tall, tilting a perked ear towards the Manor. It couldn't be? But it was. Without much more thought the large male started towards he Mansion at a steady pace. By the time he reached for the door handle he had fully shifted onto two legs, the scent of the pack already gathered made his heart twitch, he was late. Quietly as a giant could he sneaked into the ground level room where everyone seemed to be gathered just in time for Cambria and hand Kansas a pup, a little boy. Silently he approached the father and Ghita, placing one massive hand one each of their shoulders reassuringly, smiling as he looked to Kansas and the newborn pup.

*eats Mel* D< XD Kidding. A tiny baby boy! *bounces*
Wahh... rambly. ><
Wc: 647~

Turning away from the birthing mother for a moment to her brother, relief quickly passed over her face. Ehno and Savina had always been the closer of the three Marino siblings, and with the sudden arrival of Ghita to the Crimson Dreams pack, the sometimes out-of-place sister felt almost as if things had ended up in the realm beyond comfort. As far as she knew, despite all of the drama that had occurred between them, Savina would still be very relieved to see her brother by her side, especially during this time. And even now, all Ghita wanted for her sister and brother was happiness, especially when the time at hand resembled such a horrible time for Ghita.

If not a reference to Ghita's own first birth, the miscarriage that had gone so horribly wrong and wrought disaster upon her life, Savina's own first birth had been hard on Ghita as well. To see Savina succeed in so many ways that Ghita had been unable to; Create a successful family to surround herself with, be able to produce healthy, wonderful children, that certainly was hard on the lesser fae. But was there resentment? Sure, some. But that had died out a long time ago, when she had arrived back on the shores of Nova Scotia, when her sister had welcomed her back to Crimson Dreams again and again.

And now they had come full circle, back to the most recent time that Ghita had left - when Cambria, Amata, and Gotham had been born. Luckily, Ghita could bet her sarong that no one around was thinking of Ghita's melodramatic issues, and giving full attention to Savina, and rightly so!

Blinking in relief, Ghita nodded, squeezing Savina's paw one more time before moving away, giving the mother some air. Ghita was one the worst people to be here, the fears of losing this litter and the stressful atmosphere not helping the somewhat high-wired fae. But on the flip side, Ghita could tell the first signs of a miscarriage, and could tell Cambria how to appropriately react. Still, none of that was helping much.

Suddenly, a flurry of action brought her focus back to Savina, the fae hesitating to dart towards her, then thinking better of it, turning on her heel and beginning to pace. The best thing she could be doing was staying out of the way; Cambria was the medic, everyone was there for emotional support... and Ghita was another extra body. Placing her hands on the back of her neck, she laced her fingers together, weighing her arms down as she bent, spurring her body to cross the room back and forth.

And now a tiny life lay in Cambria's - now Kansas' hands. Freezing in her stride, for a moment Ghita could imagine the surreal feeling that Cambria was experiencing, looking at the tiny life in her hands. A small smile creeping up the right side of her face, Ghita was transported back to two other times, Aro & Sophia's birth, and Cambria's own birth. As happy as the event was, the fae had a sinking feeling that the labor wasn't over yet. About to voice her concern, her jaw had already opened, the fae having resumed pacing, before she heard Jazper sneak in behind them.

Things suddenly seemed a whole lot better. Feeling his large, reassuring hand on her shoulder, Ghita reached for it now, holding onto it and squeezing it quickly before leaning into her mate. By now, he'd be able to tell the fear and nerves coming off of her body, if not by her quaking the scent alone. She wanted, needed to tell him how nervous she was for Savina, how easily things could go wrong... No. Savina does not need this now. It'll only psyche her out. Speaking truths to herself, Ghita let a shuddering sigh escape her chest, the event far from over. "I'm glad you came, Jaz." She whispered, turning her muzzle towards his ear, while keeping her eyes on the new mother at all times.

maor puppies :o 300+

A son. She had another son. Happiness swelled inside the laboring mother and gave her the strength to press forward and bring the remaining pups into the world. Vaguely, she could sense her sister's nervousness, but it was as if through a fog. Savina knew why it was there, but nothing felt wrong. Everything was proceeding as it had the last time she had given birth. The woman was thankful for her sister's concern, but everything would be alright. If she started thinking of what could go wrong now it would only foul her up and distract her. She had to focus on the positive and making sure all the pups were born and healthy. The love of her family and friends allowed her to do that, but most of all was the presence of Kansas and his reassuring contact. That was what gave her the true power to go through this ordeal with hope in her heart. Yes, everything would be fine. Nothing wrong would befall this happy occasion.

Savina wanted to see her son, but there was no time. The contractions returned in full force and she went back to pushing, every muscle in her body straining, shaking almost. Between each spell she panted heavily before her body's birthing rhythms took back over. A few more minutes passed and another small form came into existence. This one Cambria also picked up, cleaned, and checked over. A girl this time, white and streaked with silver. The small pup was placed near her stomach, but far enough away that she wouldn't get tossed around while the labor continued. With some amusement Savina wondered if she would continue her mother's tradition of a litter with two girls and a boy, but the musing was cut off as the final contractions quaked through her form.

The last pup came quicker, sliding out only a few moments after the last. Cambria's process was repeated once again and indeed, the tradition had been continued, another girl. Savina slipped into a still and weary state. It was over, another successful birth. With effort she pushed herself up so she could look upon her new children. The two girls were at her stomach and she nuzzled each of them, breathing in their scents and instantly memorizing them. Then she searched her love's hands for her new son, touching her nose to his minuscule one. Finally her tired emerald gaze locked with Kansas', her tail giving a short wag. A happy sigh escaped her as she leaned her head against him, truly at peace.

(240) I hope Coli counts as a friend... and that this isn't too late to the party. ^^;;

Colibri lingered shyly in the doorway, relieved that everything had gone well, but still hesitant to enter the chamber. It seemed like such an intimate moment. Generations of family and their dearest friends, welcoming three new souls into their lives... it was beautiful, and yet she could feel something constricting in her chest. Anu was there, but she dared not intrude on the happy scene. She... she was envious. Puppies made her heart melt, she always wanted to be a mommy, and... Anu did too. They hadn't spoken much on the subject, though, because it was sort of... delicate. Nature hadn't given the loving couple a way to bear their own young, after all. Savina and Kansas had to be the luckiest mates in the world, to be this in love after all this time, and having their second litter...

She edged closer, still hugging the doorframe close to her chest, trying to catch a glimpse of the newborns. They were so utterly tiny! She had never seen children so young, so fragile; they almost didn't look like wolves at all! Coli couldn't help but smile at the little things, nuzzling up to their mother's belly. Maybe... maybe someday, she'd be this lucky, to know this sort of happiness. Her eyes wandered to Anu, the gentle woman alongside the daughter she'd raised as her own. Was she simply happy for her old friend, or was she thinking the same thing?

oh, kansas is in his lupus form... sorry for not making that clear enough. -sarah is fail-

He kept his son close to his body, keeping him away from the potential danger of his mother's labor (though Kansas was sure even in the midst of pain Savina could not hurt their child). His eyes did not leave his Love, however; he could only protect her from harm with his attention, and he watched her closely with burning pools of turquoise as her entire form tensed with the force of another contraction. But before long they had another daughter, a silver and white bundle of fur and tiny limbs. She was healthy; this he could see as he made sure the girl was in Cambria's hands. His eyes flickered, returning to Savina.

After one last minute of Savina's pain, their sixth child came into the world, another beautiful little girl. A boy and two girls. Perfect. Kansas felt that familiar stinging in his eyes, but he couldn't stop it this time. He was too happy. He and Savina had made it so far in their relationship, far enough to bring another litter into the world. He knew that they would give these children their best, and all the love in their hearts. A tear snaked from his cheek to his mate's fur as she nuzzled close, and he moved into her, thanking her and loving her with the warmth of their embrace. Between them were the three little ones, resting from their journey and soothed by their parents' presence. "Sei un miracolo, il mio amore," he whispered to Savina.
