The scent of fire still stuck strongly to the blackened area as the yearling wandered across the damaged area where Inferni had started the fire. Disappointment was the most prominent feeling within the golden male, because this move had felt like a betrayal after he so foolishly had gone to Inferni and talked with Kaena about peace. He had even offered to assist them in dethroning Haku (in a way), and yet Inferni went ahead and tried to burn Dahlia’s members alive, caring little about the innocent children that so easily could have fallen prey to this plot. He could understand their rage, but Haku was the big bastard and instead of targeting him directly they had targeted Dahlia as whole. Conor’s responsibilities had not changed, but he knew for a fact now that he could not count on the clan. They seemed to be just as thirsty for blood as the Rosen at the moment. War reduced them all to maniacs intent on taking lives. The gold and cinnamon man shook his head sadly, unable to understand why such much terror and ugliness had to exist in the world.

There was little left of Haku’s cabin, but the young male was curious when he saw that the cellar expanding underground seemed relatively unharmed. He moved down into the darkness, investigating the area out of mere curiosity. The light was scarce and the room was crowded with half burnt objects and the trash was all over. The lilac eyed man was about to turn and venture up into the daylight again when a faint glimmer of metal caught his attention. The four legged wolf advanced slowly and watched the pile of bear traps. His brilliant hued orbs narrowed then, and he wondered why Haku was storing so many of them down here. His suspicion was fully lit when his gaze continued to the left and saw the small beholders of lavender essence and even a stack or two of the dried plants. Teeth gritted together forcefully then and the Soul man’s throat rumbled with sudden rage. He now saw things clearly and he could remain immobile in this war no more. The Inferni clan had indeed shown Dahlia that they were their enemy, but there was the definitely larger threat present within the lands; the one that had started everything.
