Hi everyone! This thread's going to go through fast. I'm going to let a few replies in, then post again. It will probably be closed by tomorrow or the next day and you'll only get to post once or twice, so keep that in mind! 8D I am excited to work in AniWaya!

He was more worried than he should have been, perhaps. Phoenix Valley had never shaken him to his core, and although leadership had been rather forced onto him when Iskata died and Deuce took off on him, the cyclops had never been afraid of being an authority -- he'd just never been too keen on having to bother with it. Naturally, now that he had spent over a year as leadership in Phoenix Valley, not only had he gotten used to being the authority figure, but the seasons were changing again and nothing had changed. There was a need for something new, something different, and he was aware of it. How could he have spent the rest of his life running a pack full of loonies and dreamers, anyway? Surely they hadn't expected him to do so. His members knew he didn't fit in with the rest of them. And with the war raging and his maniacal half-brother just a hop and a skip away, it had been time to finally get moving.

Dawali had been kind and eager to switch. The Kalona had warned him of what to expect and how things were generally run, and although the cyclops still couldn't fully wrap his head around the concept of spirit animals, he didn't try too hard to. After all, he was far beyond fixing now, and any ghosts that stupidly wanted to try would fail in the end anyway.

The land reeked of strange scents and sights he wasn't familiar of. Sure, Jefferson had strolled through the tribe once or twice and had amiable conversations with Ember, but he'd never gotten a tour and now walked AniWaya feeling as if he'd just been interviewed and accepted at the borders, much like he had done so many times in Phoenix Valley. It was like the tables were turned but he was still in charge -- and likely didn't know anyone of the tribe outside of Ember and Hemming. The brute would get used to it, though -- there was no turning back now.

He wandered through AniWaya Village and found the ceremonial fire, burning as always. Dawali had mentioned something about it being sacred, but the cyclops twitched and ear and thought little of it. How strange, these tribal traditions. Here was as good as any to make his introduction, and on two feet the scarred and disfigured Kalona lifted his head to the sky and released a long, resounding howl of attention. It echoed much different than anything Dawali could have mustered, a roughness in its sound only a monster like Jefferson could create.

The pup was out and about. Even if Dawali had explained that he wasn't the pup's father it still hadn't gotten through Lotus's mind. He still thought of the red wolf as his dad. But who was he to know better? After all this was his first time seeing the growing of grass and other such plant life. And while that was exciting it also saddened him that the snow was gone. Now he couldn't blend in and sneak up on others anymore. With the loss of winter he also lost his advantage. But all of the flitting animals were enough to keep his mind off of such sad things. Then again he found himself easily distracted.

Like how he went from chasing after a bug to go see what the howl was about. He was a curious little tyke after all. And well, he wanted to know who was yelling and what was being yelled about. It didn't sound like anyone that he knew but with the new faces that had popped up there wasn't many that he did know. He knew his Mommy and his Daddy and a couple more that lived here and another one that didn't live here but fought crabs. Oh, and there was another pup that lived far away. How was that for three months of life? But as he trotted over he realized that he didn't know this one at all.

That didn't stop him from heading right on over. He hadn't learned the fear of strangers yet. So it was with a gleeful wag of his tail that he headed right on up to whom he would find out was the new leader. He made to stand on his hindpaws to make himself taller, trying to look like everyone else here that walked around on two legs, and to place his forepaws against the other’s leg to help him keep his balance if it would be allowed. “Hi there Mister! Are you looking for my Daddy!?” As was stated before he did believe Dawali to be his father despite it being false. And he knew of Dawali staying near the spot where this stranger was standing.

Ember didn't live too far away from the village, and was one of the first to hear the howl that Jefferson had let out. The dark warrior had been expecting something like this, having spoken with Dawali about the changes that were going to happen with the tribe. She wasn't sure of the exact details, but knew enough to follow what her old Kalona had told her. She would follow Dawali's orders until death, if need be.

She jogged down the familiar trails toward the village, her breathing even. She often went for long runs to keep her body in good fighting shape, at least once a day, so the short distance between her and Lotus' den and the ceremonial fire was nothing at all to her. She had noticed that Lotus hadn't been at the den when she had gotten back to it. If he wasn't at the meeting she would wait for him to arrive, then go seek him out if he didn't come.

The two wolves came into view, and she was relieved to see that her adopted son was already at the meeting point. Had he come knowing that the tribe's new leader Jefferson had called for a meeting? Or was it chance? She would have to make sure that he knew of some of the formalities of pack life...about submission and meetings and pack dynamics. The female slowed to a walk as she approached, raising her hand in greeting. Lotus was already busy questioning the leader, it seemed. "She ain't botherin' you, is she?" Her gender-confused son would react badly if she had worded it any other way. "This is a meeting, Lotus--I dunno if he's gonna have a whole lotta time to talk to ya. He howled to call the tribe here."
