For Princess <3 300+

Haven didn't often have dreams, or if he did he didn't remember them upon waking. Nightmares had plagued him when he had sat, wallowing his life away in the bar but ever since then he hadn't been visited by those haunting night images. He had been thankful they had gone away, because each one had been so vivid that he had been certain they were actually happening. Even upon waking the scenes would linger, making him paranoid and jumpy. Those nightmares had always involved his father in some way or another. Often the deranged man had taunted him, saying there was no escape, that he become just like him. Whenever Haven would deny this the man would only cackle maniacally and tell him he was wrong. Upon crawling out of that pit of self deprecation and destruction his psyche had let him be.

That was until this night. It had started out as an empty void, and then he had appeared, walking along towards an uncertain destination. At first he had felt perfectly fine, but as the landscape stayed sterile and unchanged a nervous feeling settled in the pit of his stomach. He called out, but there was no answer in return. So he continued to walk. After what seemed like a long while a figure appeared in the distance ahead of him. His pace increased, anxious to see who it was. As the distance closed his heart beat easier, for it was Princess. Where was she going though? Haven caught up to her and put a hand on her shoulder. "Princess! What's going on?" A smile was on his face, but it quickly faded as she turned to him with a blank expression. "I'm leaving," she responded flatly. His chest tightened uncomfortably, ears falling back against his skull. "Wh-what? Why?" This couldn't be happening. "I'm going to find Ares. He's more important." No. "But, he left you! I've always been here!" "It doesn't matter." "Princess!" "Goodbye Haven." And then she began to disappear, her features fading. Frantically his hands grasped at her, but she was already insubstantial. He couldn't keep her with him. "PRINCESS!"

Jades popped open and he sat up with a start. His heart hammered in his chest and he felt winded, like he had just run miles. Eyes scanned the room, finding it normal, nothing out of place. Then his gaze shot to the other side of the bed, finding Princess laying there peacefully. Usually the sight of her would have been enough to calm him, but not this time. The image of her indifference and departure were too strong, too unsettling. A chill ran down his spine and he buried his face in his hands. Would it come true? Would she leave him too?

♥ Yay, drama thread!

The young woman was resting peacefully, her steady breathing an idication of the calm nature of her slumber. Princess had always been one that dreamed often, and during her younger days, her sleep had been plagued with nightmares. Those had seemingly ceased when she had moved to Crimson Dreams, only reappearing every now and then to torment her in her sleep, but she knew that they were gone now that she was in her new home and spending every night beside the man she loved. For now, things were a step above what they had been, but nothing was completely official. The Chance woman did not think that meant anything, though. Princess loved Haven more than she ever imagined herself loving any man. The unintentional flare of jealousy she had felt when Brooklyn had come to visit her brother had been just another fragment of proof for Princess. If she did not completely love him as she did, then she would not be so defensive.

The shift of the weight on the bed was enough to lift her to a level just below conciousness. Princess had always been a light sleeper, and though she no longer had to sleep on the defense as she had before coming to the area and then when she had lived with her mother, and even a bit when she was in Crimson Dreams, old habits die hard. She guessed that she would always be a light sleeper. Princess rolled over, golden eyes fighting the desire to fall asleep again as she forced them to focus on Haven. She studied him in confusion, unsure of what it was that had woken him and startled him enough that he would sit up. "Is everything okay, Haven?" she asked sleeiply, voice muffled by the recent sleep. Princess shook her head shortly and quickly, then propped her cheek up with one hand, her other hand reaching out for his incase something was wrong, though she did not know what it could possibly be. Everything had seemed fine to her. All that had woken her had been Haven's quick movement and the resulting shift on the bed.

Drama LlamaLlama. Sorry, short :x

He had to wrestle a whine back down into his chest. If he hadn't woken her up already he didn't want to. Logically he knew that it had just been a bad dream, that it wasn't true, but after what had happened to him before with Siobhan the fear was quickly rooting into his heart. She had left him to go after a brother she could barely remember and didn't even really knew. Princess knew Ares, they were close. The chance of her going after him were much greater then he ever would have guessed for Siobhan. It made him frantic and to want to leave the room, get out of the house. Maybe if he hadn't woken her up he could just sneak away, try and clear his head. But then he felt her stir and knew that he had indeed woken her. Haven bit his lip, still hoping she was asleep until her soft voice hit his ears.

Swallowing past the lump in his throat he shot her a quick looking, trying to hide the worry in his eyes from her. "Uh...yeah, just...just a bad dream," he said lamely, not even convincing himself. He didn't want her to question it further though. He didn't want to talk about it with her. What if it was just a bad dream and she'd be offended for him thinking she could do that? No, he couldn't risk that. Still though, the fear was strangling him. As her hand reached out to touch him his stomach tied into uncomfortable knots. God, he needed to get out. He couldn't deal with this right now. How could he just leave though, now that she was up?

Silly Haven, getting all worked up. D:

Princess watched him through half-closed eyes, trying to see what was wrong with him before he spoke. It was not common for him to wake up so suddenly, and that worried her, the feeling rousing her more and pushing away the minute thoughts of sleeping. The young woman hated to see him upset and she wanted to be able to fix what was wrong, to make him happy again. Their relationship still seemed so new to her, even though she had been in his pack and his bed for well over a month by now. She did not want to do or say anything that would make him uncomfortable or change the way things were between them.

She frowned, the tone of his answer worrying her. Of course, knowing that he'd had a bad dream was not good in the first place, but the way he said it made her ask, "What was it about?" Princess did not think that there was any harm in asking, and she only wanted to make everything better for him. When he did not take hr hand, she let it fall to the bed between them, confusion setting in. She only wanted to make him feel better about what was bothering him, like he had done for her... Was it something she had done?

he's being an arse :| 300+

He could sense her worry and it only heightened his desire to remove himself from the situation. He needed time, space to think this all over, to try and chase the worry away. Haven wanted it to be some stupid nightmare that had no bearing in the real world, but after what had happened to him the last time he couldn't discount it right away. Princess may be happy right now, but what if in a few months she wasn't so happy? What if she realized she really missed her brother and went to go after him just like Siobhan had? Leaving him heartbroken and scattered again. He wouldn't be able to handle that. It would hurt worse than the last time. He cared for Princess more.

Then came the question that he didn't want to answer. Jaw tightened, his teeth pressing together uncomfortably. Yes, he needed to get out of the house, make up some excuse, but what? What would placate her fears and give her the feeling that he was okay and just needed to go out? The answer (or excuse) came easier than expected, a light bulb coming on in his frenzied mind. "I dreamed something happened to Drogon. I think I should go check on him, make sure everything's fine." The lie came out smooth, but left a poisonous aftertaste on his tongue. He felt lower than low, lying to her, but he didn't know what else to do.

Haven rose, grabbing his jeans and his jacket, putting them on hastily. "I might not be back for a little while, even if things are fine. Should probably go check the borders. You go back to sleep," he urged her, offering a weak half-smile. He strapped Vowkeeper across his back and headed towards the door, looking back at her one last time before leaving.

rofl, super short thread. xD

This behavior from him seemed so strange and out of the ordinary, the tension in the room surrounding them. It was uncomfortable and she did not know how to change that, because she did not know what it was from. Princess had been the victim of bad dreams before, but she did not know what could be causing such a holted raction from him. Haven was the sturdy one out of the pair, the one that could be counted on to keep himself together, while she tended to run on the emotional and dramatic aspects of life. The young woman hated to admit it, but she knew that it was true. She had a tendency to lean towards a dramatic flair, even though it was generally unintentional. Princess just did not understand why he seemed so strange all of a sudden. Bad dreams never made anyone feel particularly good, but this seemed so strange for him.

Princess listened to his explanation dutifully, then watched as he stood, preparing himself for his newly decided journey to the stables and the borders. It was understandable that a dream like that would shake him, but she did not know why it was necessary to leave now to check on him. After all, it was just a dream. She sat up a bit more now, running her fingers through her curls, the other hand clutching th blanket in her lap. "But, Haven... It's the middle of the night... Why can't you check on him tomorrow?" she asked his back, watching him leave, but she did not know if he could even hear her or if he would even turn back if he could hear her. Her response was too late though, and Princess sat huddled with th blankets, trying to figure out what had just happened. Why wouldn't he talk to her about it? Why did he have to leave?
