This is pure crap, but I'm too lazy to rewrite it all Undecided 300+

It was all black as a snowless winter night. She had been by the borders and now she was lying by a pike with a head again, but it was not the same place. Her body felt heavier than a mountain, and she was pushed down into soft earth and concentrated on her breath; wondering how she could be alive when she was so rapidly sinking through the world. Something had happened – she knew that much, but exactly what was the one worded question echoing through her clearing head again and again and again. A tight ball of shock and nausea was placed at the pit of her stomach and as blood rushed to her brain and helped separate reality from that strange, black unconsciousness, she prayed that it would not unleash before she had regained control over her body.

An annoying buzz pulsed in waves into her ears and she tried to push her still audits back against her skull in a worthless attempt to block the strange noise out. Could she somehow have dozen off? She reached for explanations; tried to flee from the panic that was becoming more prominent as her mind cleared. Where was she and why could she not move? The sound was increasing in strength and she recognized her own name drifting in-between her own climbing heart pace and the rush of blood waddling in her oversized ears. She struggled against the impossible weight immobilizing her body. For some moments it seemed useless, but when she found her limbs and her muscles she let the climbing panic pump adrenaline freely through her veins and she fought the weight of unconsciousness madly.

Eyelids fluttered and revealed two ruby slits, but there was nothing to see but that same darkness. She was blind. She wanted to scream for help, but the dry sound whistling through her throat held no more strength than the faintest of whispers. She was not alone though, and the voice seemed real. Her blind gaze tried to find the source and she could feel control slowly return to her body, but not quick enough. Something really bad had happened, because it felt like her whole body was on fire; aching and throbbing with invisible wounds.

The war was over, but the borders had become no less interesting to Kaena. As far as she was concerned, there was a monster out there still, a wolf stray with blue eyes who had yet to be put down. The silver-furred coyote was still vigilant on Inferni's outskirts, and she patrolled these corners of the territory almost constantly. The hybrid woman was always moving; it seemed she should tire, but even when that tiredness crept up on her the silvery canine pushed forward, ever-concerned with the safety of the pack. There was no time to rest. This morning was no different; as dawn had risen so had the coyote, a strange hour for the hybrid, but then again, when had she ever been normal? That had been beaten out of her in the first few months of life, ripped from her future by the woman who had whelped her and her long-dead sisters.

A strange feeling enveloped the hybrid on this morning, an uneasy thing that crept into her heart and made her nervous, agitated. She paced forward with greater fervor until she halted, struck cold in motion as she spied a prone form on the earth, ragged and familiar and awful all at once. Her remaining fire-gold eye flew open and her mouth opened in a snarl, her paws propelling her forward before she even realized she was unfrozen, at the younger woman's side in an instant. “Halo? Halo?” the woman cried, her russet-furred muzzle nudging at the younger canine. Panic rose in her chest and her heart thudded in her ears, a low whine rising from her chest, again pushing at the younger coyotes cheek with her nose, this time with more insistence. Already she was shifting, leaning forward onto her paws as they slowly became hands, the rest of her body shuddering through the transformation. She had always been a fast shifter, but the rage and confusion and panic made it impossible to go through it quickly.

There was no mother she could call for, but now she could see the amber eyes that belonged to the woman that had been more of a parent to her than anyone else in this damned world. Kaena’s body seemed to be changing, but she could not tell if it was her eyes deceiving her or if it was real. She tried to reach out for the silvery form of the relative she loved so, but her body still seemed reluctant to let her be in control. Her muscles finally decided to work when bile suddenly pushed its way up her throat. She lurched to the side and vomited nothing but a horrendous mix of water and stomach acid. Her throat burned and the world spun. Throwing up did not seem to help any and she wondered what the fuck was going on. She reached out for the silver woman with heavy limbs, reeling towards her in pursuit of comfort. She did not know any more than Kaena did about what had happened. Thoughts seemed unable to form properly within her head.

In Character

Helplessly, the silver-shaded coyote watched as Halo shivered and twitched, her body not operating in the way she desired for it to at all—her motions were twitchy and jerky, barely shifting her limbs. She leaned to the side and vomited, and the silvery coyote reached for her hair, brushing it back and away from the side of her face, creeping closer to slide her arm beneath the other canine's shoulders, cradling her body. Her fingers ran through the other canine's hair, stroking her head and the back of her neck, still supporting the cinnamon-furred canine's torso. A soft whine escaped her throat. “Halo,” she whispered, pleading for the girl to speak or move, to make some indication she was alright.

Short is not bad <3

The name known by every child clung silently to the young woman’s lips as the contractions in her abdomen released and let her breathe again. Tears had invaded the soft cherry hue in her eyes; produced by the cramps that had brought up the bitter bile. Someone was holding on to her and she recognized the woman; rediscovering her grandmother as the older wolf spoke her name. The hybrid wouldn’t have been this upset had she only known what was the matter. There were no answers available, only fog and darkness. She could not remember the content of yesterday. Soft fingers brushed through her hair and the woman shifted her weight around; turning to the woman and digging her face into Kaena’s soft fur. She found a great amount of comfort in the Centurion’s scent, though it was tainted by the stench of vomit. She shuddered. ”What happened?” Her voice was not as weak as she thought it would be. Perhaps Kaena could offer her an answer as to what the fuck had happened. ”I think I fell and hit my head,” the woman muttered as she continued to cling to the silver hybrid.

faillll~

Anger flared in the silvery coyote against anyone who would harm her family. Halo was a precious gem of the Lykoi, quite capable of taking care of herself but deserving of all the care and love in the world. The ashen coyote still held Halo propped upwards, her fingers stroking the other canine's dark hair, running her nails gently against the woman's scalp. “I don't know,” the hybrid admitted, leaning forward to look into the other canine's eyes. They seemed bright and clear, if a little weary and certainly apprehensive. “I found you lying on the ground here,” the hybrid said. “What's the last thing you remember?” It was worrisome that Halo could not say how she had fallen into these circumstances. If someone had hurt her, the silvery coyote would not hesitate to issue retribution.

She shuffled and shifted her weight in her grandmother’s lap, but nothing was comfortable. She decided to focus on her own breath; the air whistling in and out her nostrils. It carried the scent of Kaena more than anything and she wrapped her mind around that—loving the woman that she called mother in her head. No one had cared for the hybrid as this woman. Wolf was more a part of her than anything, but Kaena’s arms had never been anything but open. Kaena did not know why the Hydra was lying there in her silver lap, and Halo’s eyes opened and sought out the scarred woman’s lonely eye. This was well beyond anything the young clan member had experienced in the past. A strange, thick slumber still seemed to linger in her veins. She couldn’t recognize it. ”I was in my room..?” it was hard to decide. She did remember yesterday, but not what had been the last scene. She had spent most of the day outside the mansion with her sword. Her body tensed and she recognized the unnatural absence of weight on her back. ”My sword!” she rarely ever walked about without it. She twisted around and clumsily got up on her knees as ruby eyes scanned the surrounding area so quickly the world spun and caused a new ball of sickness to manifest within her guts.

D;

Anxiousness flooded the silver-shaded woman and she whined softly under her breath, not knowing what to think. “I can call Gabriel, or something...” the hybrid said lamely, simply not knowing what to do. She was not a medic; she could not help Halo in the way she so badly wished to. As the woman shifted forward to her knees and cried for her sword, Kaena sat up with her, reaching forward to wrap her arm about the woman's shoulders and back again to support her, her other hand moving to the woman's closer shoulder, rubbing it and worrying it as she could. “Maybe you should not move yet,” the silvery woman said, wishing she could do something of use for Halo.
