Actions Speak Louder than Words

Okay, here she is, Parker Sadira, the quiet, but almost always smiling, puppy. I'm still learning the lay of the Crimson Dream's subterritories so, if I mess anything up, please correct me ^_^

A new day, the sun was out, the birds were chirping, it was perfect. Another perfect day to explore the tremendous manor that she and her family, along with a lot of the other Crimson Dreams members, called home. So many rooms were as of yet unexplored by the cinnamon and white pup and her siblings. However, they were all asleep now and she didn't want to wake them, partially because she was being nice, partially because she didn't want them talking her ears off while they explored. She slowly uncurled from her sleeping position, careful to not so much as touch one of her sleeping siblings for fear she would startle them awake. Mama and papa were nowhere to be seen as of yet, though she could only guess that mama was within earshot. Her mama was always around somewhere. She liked that. Maybe she'd go find her first. Yes, she liked that idea. She needed to see mama first, both to let her know she was awake, and to silently ask for permission to leave the room. Artemis seemed to think it was silly to ask mama for permission all the time, but Sylvano always seemed to agree that checking in with mom was the better idea.

Having escaped the bed without disrupting her siblings, young Parker started to sniff around the room, quietly, hoping to catch her mother's scent. Quiet, that word described the small cinnamon streaked girl better than most. She never spoke, despite her mom's gentle urgings. She didn't know why, but answering her mother with facial expressions and gestures seemed to be fine. Listening to her siblings stumbling over how to respond to some of their mother's questions made Parker want to get it right the first time. She just was not confident that she could do that yet. Her siblings, didn't seem to quite understand why she didn't want to talk, but they rarely pressed her about it. Mama was the same way. Mama, yes that was who she was looking for! The dainty Sadira pup had caught herself daydreaming again, in mid search too. She was on her mother's scent now, that much she remembered. So, having come back to reality the young pup scampered out of the room, and down the hallway, little black nose to the floor letting it lead her to her mama.

yay! Big Grin I edited your post to add the < p > tags to make the paragraphs. With the CSS tables (the ones I made you) you need to start a paragraph with < p > and end it with < /p > (minus the spaces of course) ^^ also Silvano is spelled with an I not a Y, but that's all I saw! 300+

Savina had woken somewhat early that morning, slipping out of the room and leaving her children to continue their slumber. They were growing quickly, and needed the rest. Of course though it wasn't that often that they did sleep for long amounts of time. Stealing a few moments for herself and Kansas was always nice, though of course she never complained about the full time job of motherhood. It was her life's greatest joy, being a mother, and every moment spared with her brood was one she cherished and held to her heart. The Marino woman had stretched out and gotten a quick bite from their food stores before heading to the room that held the pack's spare toys. When they were older and she could leave them for longer she would go to the city and find them some brand new things to play with. Until then though, they would have to make due with what the manor already held.

Carefully she picked out three toys, one for each of her pups. She picked out a couple stuffed toys, one a lamb and one a duck, and finally she picked out a ball that had a bell inside it and jingled as it rolled around. She had no idea which of her children would pick which toy, and they would probably switch around even after they made their initial choices, but that was alright. As long as they shared politely it was good practice for them. Delicately picking up the three toys in her jaws she trotted out of the room but was surprised when she nearly stepped on the pale shape of her daughter. Savina had to sidestep dramatically to avoid accidentally hitting Parker and she nearly lost her balance, but somehow managed to stay on all four feet. The mother dropped the toys from her mouth and looked down at her quiet pup. "Parker sweetie I'm sorry! I didn't know you were up. You're quiet even on your feet, aren't you?" she said with a warm smile, her tail waving happily.

Oh I see, thanks Erin. ^_^ 400+

The cinnamon streaked pup was barely paying attention to where exactly she was headed. She just knew that she was following mama's scent, something she was very familiar with. Wherever it led, there she would go. If she had been paying attention she would have noticed her mother coming out of the room. However, having her nose focused on the floor, following the trail, she barely had time to crouch to help her avoid tripping her mother, which she almost did anyway. Pale white face turned upward to look at her mother, golden orbs focused intently on the emerald green orbs above her. Her tail immediately started to wag in an erratic, quick pattern of motion. She was so excited that keeping her tail swishing from side to side in an even manner was next to impossible. Parker had found her mother, all by herself. She couldn't help but smile, beaming with pride at her accomplishment.

When her mother apologized for almost tripping over her, Parker shrugged, stood up and bounced up to her mom, nuzzling her affectionately. It was her silent way of saying that her mom didn't need to apologize and that she was happy to see her. Her mom's question was met with an enthusiastic nod. Yes, she was very quiet on her feet. Her light frame made it easy for her to move around with as little noise as possible; just the way she liked it. Unfortunately she had yet to learn that making noise was sometimes better than being quiet. Fortunately she still had time, lots of time, to learn. Plus, her mama did not really seem to mind a whole lot.

Having found and lovingly greeted her mother, Parker's golden orbs turned towards the objects her mother had just dropped. Toys!! Her mama had found new toys! Well, they may not have been entirely new, but to Parker they were. She immediately locked on to the stuffed toys, pouncing on the duck first and then the lamb, testing out how they felt to her paws and puppy teeth as she went. It didn't take her long to decide. She liked the fluffy, super-soft lamb the most. The duck was nice, and she wasn't too keen on the ball, for it had made noise when her mama had dropped it. Grabbing the fluffy, plush toy in her tiny jaws, Parker dragged it towards her mama, leaving it at her feet. Then, with her usual, big smile on her face the cinnamon and white puppy sat down, her right forepaw placed on the lamb. Golden orbs stared up at her mom, then looked down at the toy and back up at her mom again. Could she have this?

no problem! sorry for the wait, my muse is being a fickle friend these days Tongue 300+

After the somewhat frightening incident as she dropped the toys to the floor the mother allowed herself a quick sight of relief. Even if it wouldn't have particularly been her fault, she would have felt absolutely horrible if she had stepped on Parker or hurt her small girl in any way. She reminded her somewhat of Cambria when she had been that age. Fragile, but not the same fragile as her now grown daughter had been. Parker wasn't shy or anything of that sort, but for some reason her lack of speech made Savina zero in on her to protect her. The Italian fey knew there was nothing wrong with her daughter, but she couldn't help but keep a bit of a closer eye on her, making sure everything stayed just fine.

The small incident had left neither of them scathed though, and her mute girl shrugged and quickly bounded over to her to greet her in the way a mother always loves best. Savina laughed softly as she craned her neck down to return her daughter's enthusiastic nuzzles with some of her own, coral tongue licking the pup lovingly. Savi could only smile all the more broadly as Parker confirmed that yes, she was very quiet on her feet. It was rather amazing for a pup her age to be able to move with such stealth. Many her age were still getting used to walking around and being coordinated. That didn't seem to be a problem for her sunshine girl. "You'll turn into an excellent hunter if you keep that up," the mother complimented. Prey would never hear her coming either.

Their greetings finished it took no time at all for the Sadira pup to pounce onto the toys that Savina had been bringing back to the room. Savina watched joyfully as her daughter played experimentally with both the duck and the lamb, loving the image of her frolicking happiness. Soon it seemed that she had made her choice, as she pulled the lamb over with her and looked between her and toy. The mother nodded her head. "Alright, the lamb is all yours il mio silenzio uno," she said, touching her coal nose to the top of her daughter's head. "Parker, would you like to go outside and see the meadow?" The pups hadn't been outside the mansion yet, and she had a feeling Parker would love the little meadow. It would be nice to have some time just the two of them.

Sorry for the delay, been busy with getting my sister graduated from high school this weekend. Plus I find that taking a few days in between massive episodes of replying seems to help my muse calm down. Might as well enjoy the luxury of excess free time while I have it. I'm trying to get into the habit of posting something everyday, at least one reply so that I'll always be on track, but it's slow going.

The cinnamon and white pup could hardly contain her happiness as her mother returned her gestures of affection. Parker loved both of her parents, but as with most small children, mama was always the one to be sought out first. Golden orbs glanced upward at her mother's green gaze, grinning widely as her mom complimented her. She would be a great hunter. If mama said so, it had to be true. Therefore she would do her best to exceed her mother's expectations.

As her mother officially gave her the lamb, Parker leapt up and licked Savina on the cheek several times, as repeated gestures of extreme gratitude. Then, satisfied that she had sufficiently conveyed her excitement, the young Sadira girl returned to her new plush toy, pouncing on it and grasping it in her tiny jaws, ever so gently mind you. However, she was forced to drop it again as her mother asked her a question. The meadow?! Did she want to go to the meadow? She knew what that place was, or so she thought. Hadn't she been told about it before? Parker could not remember, but as she turned to again face her mother, her golden eyes sparkled with pent up glee. Doing her best to control herself, rather unsuccessfully, Parker nodded her head emphatically all the while struggling to keep her white tipped tail from wagging its way off of her rear end. Yes, she wanted to go! Words could not describe how much she wanted to go. However, Parker paused for a moment, remembering her clean, white lamb toy. She looked back at it for a moment and then back at her mother, brow furrowing quizzically as she wondered what to do with it. She didn't particularly want to take it outside and possibly endanger it. Then again, she didn't want to just leave it here and have one of her litter mates or somebody else possibly come and damage it. Mama would know what to do! She could do anything!

don't worry about it! I've now made you wait almost a month DX my posting should be more consistent now though! 300+

Despite her comment, she couldn't see Parker doing much killing. Only enough as to survive, like Cambria. Hunting had only become harder for her chocolate girl as she had taken in her dove and began her studies on the healing arts. Honestly, she doubted that Cambria caught anything on her own, only eating from the stores. If it were any other member, Savina might have had to have a talk with them about that, but she could fully understand her daughter's aversion to killing and so she let it go by. It wasn't as if she ate all that much anyway. Parker's job wouldn't be giving the final blow, no. She would be the expert on sneaking up on the prey and flushing them out though. The honey accented pup would grow to be quite proficient at that, she felt.

Parker was so happy and grateful to be given the plush lamb that it filled the mother with incomparable joy to see the way her daughter reacted. How could she ever say no to her? Savina didn't think she could, but she doubted she would ever have to. Artemis was the only one who needed to be kept in line thus far. "You're welcome sweetie, I'm so glad you like it." She would make sure to keep an eye on the toy herself, to make sure the other two didn't try to tear it apart. The lamb now belonged to Parker and Parker alone. It seemed nothing could make her more excited than her new toy, that was until the mention of going to see the meadow. Her bright eyes lit up even more and her whole body wagged and wriggled with her tail. However after a moment a questioning expression came over the pups face as she looked back to her new toy. Savina immediately knew her daughter's concern. "Here, how about I put the lamb back in this room, so it won't get dirty, and we'll come get it again when we're done. Does that sound good?" she suggested, waiting for Parker's approval of the plan.

Puppies are so much fun!

Oh did Parker ever love her mama. She always knew what Parker was trying to say, despite the fact that the cinnamon and sugar girl never spoke. It was as if mama could read her mind, or so Parker thought. It had yet to occur to her at this young age that her facial expressions and body language said almost as much as spoken words would have. Her body did the talking, and her mother was just an expert at reading what it said. So, at her mother's suggestion of a plan to protect her lamb from harm, it would have been easy for Savina to understand that her daughter approved. Nodding her head several times, Parker displayed her overt approval of her mom's idea. What could she say, her mom was a genius.

In order to put the plan in motion, the delicate Sadira girl clamped her jaws gently around one of her lamb's legs, carefully dragging it over to her mom so that she could put it back into the room for safekeeping. Sliding it right up to her mom, Parker released the lamb, right in front of her mother's paws. A quick nuzzle of gratitude was given by the pale girl before she stepped back to wait for her mama. Now that she knew her lamb would be safe, Parker was focusing all of her excitement on going outside to see the meadow. Her mind began to wander in the few short seconds it took her mother to secure the lamb's safety and Parker could not help but begin to speculate on what they would see. What other animals would they see? Would there be any flowers to smell? Would the grass be really tall or really short? Such questions randomly popped in and out of the young pup's head as she waited for her mother. She knew that her mom would have to help her down the stairs, since it would take her too long to get down them by herself. Then Parker would dutifully follow as closely as possible behind Savina all the way to the meadow. She would have to listen very carefully to her mother, she told herself, because she didn't want to get into trouble by accident. Parker had yet to do anything horribly disobedient, and she hated to even think about disappointing either of her parents. So she made it a point to try her hardest to be good all the time. After all, if she was good, mama was happy and she liked it when mama was happy!

Parker is just too darn cute! ^^

It had worried her went Parker hadn't begun to speak along with her brother and sister, and the mother had feared that something might be wrong with her bright eyed little girl. Yet as she grew and developed step for step with her siblings in all ways but speech, that worry melted away and Savina knew that there was absolutely nothing wrong with her darling child. Parker had no problem communicating her wants and needs and thankfully she had no issue understanding what it was that her baby wanted. The dark woman had a good feeling that her daughter would speak, but only when she felt ready. Savina would never push her. As long as Parker was happy, she would be also.

The silent little puppy nodded her head at the suggested plan and then tugged her toy over so that Savina could easily pick it up and take it to safekeeping. The mother smiled, giving Parker a soft lick on the top of her head before picking the stuffed lamb up and taking it back into the room where she had found it. There were no other young pups in the pack any longer and she doubted anyone would enter that room before they returned. The lamb secure, she walked back out into the hallway. "Your lamb is all safe, so let's go!" Just as gently as she had handled the toy, Savina picked Parker up by her scruff and carried her down the stairs. Once they reached the main floor she placed her child back down and walked over to the door, nudging it open and holding it for her girl.

Yes, Parker is too darn cute indeed. The universe struggles constantly to handle such cuteness.

Her lamb was safe, that was all Parker needed to know. Now she and mama could go to the meadow and Parker would not have to worry about her special toy. Oh how wonderful! The cinnamon and sugar girl could not contain her excitement, and she would have been wiggling and bouncing around had not her mother scooped her up by the scruff to carry her downstairs. Parker didn't understand it, but something about the way mama carried her just made her relax instantly. She had almost no control over it. It just felt so good that Parker would just tuck her paws up against her body and hang there from her mama's jaws quiet and motionless. The trip downstairs was quick, though, and as soon as Savina set her down the golden-eyed pup began bouncing and wiggling about as if she had never stopped.

Her mother very kindly opened the door, and Parker scampered out making it a point to nod in a gesture of gratitude for her mom's actions. Then, like the good girl she was she waited outside patiently for her dark furred mama to follow her outside. Immediately her senses were bombarded with every sort of sight, scent and sound she could imagine. The birds chirping made Parker's little pointed ears dance about on her head, trying to listen to all of them. Her nose almost instinctively sniffed the air trying to identify everything she was smelling, which of course she couldn't as she had not been outside the mansion before. At least, she could not remember ever being outside the mansion before. Last but not least, the Sadira girl's bright, shining eyes moved across the landscape in front of her, sweeping all the way from left to right before focusing back on her mother. With a wag of her white tipped tail, Parker eagerly awaited her mother's lead. Parker wanted to know what everything around her was called, but she would be more than happy to wait until they got going. After all, it was impolite to bug her mom with each thing she came across. Whatever her mother pointed out, she would learn about. Mama knew what was most important, and what was coolest, so Parker was more than ready to trust her judgement.

cute overload! 300+

She knew Parker was very excited to get to go outside and see the valley, but she was very thankful that she was still while she was carried downstairs. If she had been squirming and bouncing about, Savina's teeth might have nicked her by accident and she would have felt absolutely horrid if she had hurt her girl in any way. The mother's need for her children to be happy was rivaled only by her need to keep them safe and unharmed. She could think of no worse fate than accidentally managing some harm upon her own brood. It was something the woman hoped she would never have to experience, or for her children to experience for that matter. That was no worry now though, for as always Parker had been so good and stayed still until she had been put down again. Then her joyous bouncing returned and could continue for the remainder of their expedition.

After her daughter slipped out the door Savina joined her outside, but waited while the young pup did her best to take in all the new things her senses were being bombarded with. The little girl's ears and nose quivered, her eyes wide and bright with the whole new world that had just opened up before her. The mother was secretly happy to be sharing this momentous occasion alone with Parker. It was so great to see the wonder and excitement written all over her little body. It was something that time could never take from her, a memory, an image that would remain with her for the rest of her life.

The large moment of awe passed though, and the silent pup was ready to move on in their adventure. Savina walked down into the grass and waited for Parker to join her, knowing that it would take a moment for this new sensation to become ordinary. All she had known was the floors of the manor. Grass was something completely new and different.

Yay for short posts due to writer's block -_-

It took several seconds, seconds that dragged on like minutes, before Parker was finally able to move on. Finally, though, she was able to focus her overwhelmed senses on her mom who was waiting for her a few yards away from the door. What was that stuff she was standing in? It was all over the ground, like a giant rug. She knew what rugs were because there were a few scattered around the manor. This didn't look like a rug though. For one, it was green. Two, it was shaped differently. Her puppish curiosity moved her to investigate this new surface immediately. Golden orbs focused on the the grass and Parker stepped out onto it, one paw at a time. It felt cool and wet beneath her pads, the long blades tickling her abdomen as she finally got the courage to follow her mother all the way. A big, excited grin crossed her face as Parker bounded towards her mother, her white-tipped tail wagging back and forth. This was fun, more fun than she could ever remember having in her life, though in all honesty that wasn't a very long time. For the cinnamon and sugar girl, though it seemed like a long time.

That was just life for a puppy, time seemed to just drag on, leaving lots of time for fun. It would not take long before her understanding of time changed and she realized that it indeed ran faster than she thought, but for now nature was content to let her have fun. Golden eyes focused up at her mother, awaiting the fun, learning experience that was surely ahead.

no worries! I don't have a problem with short Smile 300+

The mother watched patiently as her child took in the sights, sounds, and smells. She would never move to push her forward when she wasn't ready for something yet. Not only would that be a somewhat cruel thing to do, but she wanted to instill in her pups that it was okay to take their time and not rush through everything. This was especially true for Parker, who was still yet to open her mouth and give voice to any words. Artemis was much more inclined to rush, wanting anything and everything right away. In her mind, Parker's way of going along was more healthy in the long run, but trying to tell the other girl that would be asking her to go against her very nature. Her first litter had been more or less the same across the three pups, but this one was full of variations and differences. It was so interesting, to see how things could go so differently from before.

Savina watched in anticipation as Parker took her first steps out into the grass. She wondered how she would react to such a different walking surface, but as she bounded to her heels with her face alight in that happy grin she knew that she was enjoying it. Happy that this new experience was going over incredibly well, the Italian fey resumed walking, heading towards the flower filled valley. "You'll like the valley Parker. There are flowers of all different colors and the grass is even taller. That's what we're walking in right now, grass." She needed to remember to explain these things. In her childhood grass and dirt had been common from day one, but her pups had grown up in a different environment. One more protected and sheltered, but without the natural lessons she took for granted.

In just a couple minutes they were in sight of the colorful valley and once again her emeralds turned to her girl, anxious to see her reaction to this brand new sight as well.

When her mama started to walk again Parker was more than happy to scamper after her, enjoying the feeling of this green stuff between her tiny toes. What was this stuff anyway? If seemed to be everywhere. Fortunately for Parker the question was answered before she could even look at her mom inquisitively. Grass, that's what this stuff was. The cinnamon and sugar girl immediately memorized the term, though it was not hard considering that she had all sorts of stimuli to remember it by. She would remember how grass felt, how it looked and how it smelled. Parker couldn't imagine what those flower things that Mama had mentioned were like.

Fortunately, Parker did not have to wait long to find out. After just a few minutes of following her mother, her golden orbs dancing all around, taking in the surroundings, they reached the valley. Mama stopped and watched her, and Parker took that as a cue to move ahead slightly to see where they were. The sight that met her bright gaze made her jaw drop. All of those colors...what could they be? Without hesitation Parker bounced ahead a few yards to the first patch of brightly colored, grasslike things. At least, they sort of looked like grass. After all, grass was long and green, and a lot of these things had long green parts. Yet, they were brightly colored, all types of colors. Were these the flowers that Mama had mentioned. Her white-tipped tail threatened to wag off her rear as Parker leaned closer to investigate the possible answer as to what made flowers so pretty. They seemed to similar to grass, but grass did not have such a variety of colors as far as Parker could tell. She was just utterly fascinated by all the colors. Turning to look back at her mother, Parker's face betrayed her excitement as always. She wanted mama to tell her what made these flowers so pretty, and to teach her about the types, and everything. There was so much to see! If Parker had her way she and mama would be here all day investigating the valley and all it had to offer. This was, of course, if Mama allowed it.

close it up? 300+

Anticipating her daughter's questions would be key to making sure Parker learned all she wanted to out here today. Body language and expressions could do a lot, but they could still only go so far. Savina would only be able to tell her girl the names for thing she pointed out, aside from that she would just have to guess at the information that Parker wanted. Hopefully it would be enough and her pup wouldn't get discouraged. There had been no sign of her muteness holding her back so far and the little girl seemed perfectly content with the way she was. The mother just wanted it to stay that way. She didn't want anything to hold her babies back, and she absolutely wanted them to be happy above all else. It was why she had mostly stopped fretting over Parker's lack of speech, because Parker was still happy even if she didn't talk.

As she stopped and watched her daughter move forward to look at the valley she saw how large and bright her sunshine girl's eyes became. It was quite the sight for one who had never seen anything like it before. She knew that Parker would like the valley. It was a bright and happy place, just like the little girl herself was. She bounded forward to the first large patch of wildflowers and Savina followed behind her, close enough to speak and watch her but no so close as to inhibit her daughter's exploration. After she had investigated the flowers for a minute or two her face turned back and the joy that was there made Savina's heart glow. "Those were the flowers I told you about Parker. They're really pretty, aren't they?" Unfortunately the woman was no expert on flora, so she wouldn't be able to give Parker the various names of all the flowers in the valley. The pup would need to talk to Anu about those sorts of things. Still, even with her limited information, she had a feeling they would be spending the rest of the afternoon out here and she was perfectly content with that.

We can certainly close it up with this post. PM me if you want me to archive it ^_^

So these were flowers! Parker had guessed right. For a moment the quiet girl's chest swelled with pride that she had come to such a conclusion on her own, but her excitement quickly overtook her once more as she nodded to her mom's inquiry. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous, some of the prettiest things she'd ever seen! Parker could have spent forever looking at all of them and she doubted that she would ever learn what each of them was. However, Parker soon saw something else that intrigued her, a bug of some sort. This one was bright red with black spots on it's back. Golden gaze focused on the insect for a moment before turning back at her mom, indicating with her facial expression that she had found something that needed identification. However, when Parker turned around the small insect flew away. Without hesitation Parker bounded after the ladybug for a few yards before the tiny creature flew too high for Parker to see. Of course, she stopped then and turned back to look at her mother, whom she had left standing back by the first patch of flowers. An excited grin followed by her head cocking sideways inquisitively could have been loosely translated as Parker wondering if it was okay to keep going. She knew mama would say yes, but she felt the need to ask permission anyway. Without a doubt Parker would stay out here with her mother as long as she could. The only two things that would get her to leave would be her mother telling her it was time to go home or exhaustion. The latter would simply result in mama taking her home to go to sleep. Whichever came first, the Sadira girl did not care. For now, all that mattered was the here and now, and there was much more here in the valley to learn about.
