The preparation for this day had spanned weeks, if not months. She had fallen the timber. Trying to focus her harvest on dead trees. Those still standing and those that had not already succumb to rot. Then dragging the logs with the help of Rem to the location she planned to erect her home. She peeled off the bark and using an axe had squared the logs slightly. Mostly what would be the tops and bottoms. Making the ends were the logs would link slightly smaller. Adjustments would still have to made as they fitted them more properly together. The spring rains hadn't made things any easier, but it had given Anann something to do and gave her body back the toned muscle it had lost in her travels east.

She felt slightly anxious and nervous as she and Heath harnessed up the horses. Anann had read it was preferred for a team of horses to be as close to identical as possible. In that respect they had definitely failed for there were hardly to more opposite in the stables than the pale, gentle Stark and the dark, flamboyant Rem. Do you think many will come? Anann asked Heath as they worked with the various straps of the harnesses, getting them properly fitted for the horses. Anann expected Anatoliy would come, he had promised. Niro had also offered help, but she had not spoken to him about it since that first day they had met. Even with just a few hands though they would be able to get much done.

Once the horses were ready they made the short walk from the stables to the plot of land to the north, the morning dew wetting their paws. To the far side of the spring fed pond, atop a small hill. She had cleared away enough trees to provide room for her home. Having to remove only a few young trees. She left the old growth for shade. The first logs had already been set. A layer of flat stones serving as the foundation. Spaces left for a doorway and a fireplace that had yet to be built. Her crude ramps she had made for getting the logs in position set ready. She checked everything one last time. I do believe we are ready. She said to Heath with a uncharacteristic and nervous smile. Tilting her head back her alto voice rang out, calling for the aid she needed to build her home. With nothing left to prepare, Anann leaned against the trunk of the tree she had deemed her favorite. It was the same one that Heath and Anatoliy had both found her perched in before.

It was a bit exciting. A smile even needed to be stifled as he laced the leather of the harness through the old buckle. He worked slowly, carefully as he fitted Stark into it. The dark material stood out against his pale lightly dappled coat, and his dark eyes looked out into the thoughtful world in which the stallion lived, a world that was hard to wake him from. Though, he moved the moment Heath wished him to and that was all he could ask from him today. It would be hard work, and the horse would be pushed harder then the normal ride that he was used to. I’m sure they will. Heath spoke, his deep tone sounding over optimistic.

They walked to the foundation, shoulder to shoulder until they came to the hill. He was happy to be able to help her, and happy for the change in work. At time his small schedule got a bit mundane, his chores always the same. This was a challenge, beyond his normal expertise and made him wonder how good he would be at the art of house building. Though, Anann seemed a bit more nervous then he was. Her grin was unlike her, a cover-up for something the fluttered in her stomach. She gave the call, and he gave a nod and waited in silence. Stark lifted his head at the sound of her howl, stepping to the side slightly and sounding the clinking links of the harness.

Big Grin

He had promised. He had. So he would come. His ears jerked at the sound of the call, as he lazily leaned against his home. In his hands the big Russo held a tangled fishing line, which was pretty tricky to unravel. Sighing a bit, he set it aside, giving himself a mental note to finish later. Now, there was something much more important to do. Anann was building her home and Anatoliy would help. Like he said he would. There was no point in letting Rurik and Liliya know; wherever they were, they probably heard the call. Somehow, they would all be there. Hopefully, his father would not open his trap and let out some kind of embarrassing life details.

It was not really that far, or at least, he did not notice the distance and the time it took him to jog there. He felt so out of shape lately, after all the daily work on the sea, this was a seriously long lull. The best he could do was to start running more often. Someone he did not know was already there, working with the hitched up horses. Rem was one of the two. It was strange to see him hooked up like that. Whoever that was, at least he could work with the more important beasts. Anann was already there, too, but it was her house they were going to build. Anatoliy smiled at the woman as he approached her in the clearing. He had not seen her since the party for the pack's formation anniversary."So today is zhe day. Building your house, ya?" It would be a long day, but hopefully a lot would get done.

Anatoliy peered at the man by the horses, calling out, "Allo, you are helping too, yah?" Well, obviously he was. Returning his attention to the woman, he jammed his hands into his pockets. "Vhat are you needing me to do?" He wanted to be useful. That was all he wanted to do, really.

He was in the stables working with Marahute and Tobias, his new redtail hawk he’d captured a week or so ago. He was surprised with the progress he made, the bird did not trust him yet but he was much more calm around Niro than he could have expected. Niro had used soft words with the bird, happy that he got this far with him. Marahute trusted and loved its new master, although Niro wished it wouldn’t take a year just to figure out if the baby bird was a girl or a boy. He’d found out Tobias was a male.

As he was admiring the bird and playing the trust game with him, he heard a howl for help, nothing urgent, it wasn’t an emergency, but it was something he’d noted that he could help with. Anann was finally building her house, so he gathered Marahute, put it in his pouch and gloved his hands, blindfolded the hawk, and scooped him off his perch as well and ran to the building site as quickly as possible. It didn’t take him long to find his way to the other wolves, there were three there in total, and two horses, it was now him and his birds, but the birds couldn’t help in any way so it was just him to come to the aide. This was great too because Niro loved using his hands, and wood was one of his specialties, he’d made his trap and cage that now resided in the Stables. (he would set another trap when Marahute was older, right now it was taking too much of his time.). He smiled at them all, he’d met them once or twice in the time he’d been in the Miracle’s pack.

Heath! It’s good to see you, here’s the result of your help!

Niro said excitedly, pointing to the small chick in his pouch, the head of the bird was sticking out of it watching everything that was going on. Heath was the one that had helped him get the egg from the nest of the Eagles not too long ago, and he’d seen the wolf at the party for the Miracle’s celebration, he didn’t get the chance to talk with his new friend. He wanted to but he’d been preoccupied. He then turned his attention to Anann smiling.

promised I’d be here, I still owe you for these gloves,

He said holding his arms up, with the bird squaking indignantly on his right arm, he smiled sheepishly,

Is there anywhere I can teather this guy up? I brought him because he needs to get use to pack noises as well as pack voices. He should be good as long as he’s teathered and blindfolded.

Niro said, a huge grin on his face. He was ready to get to work, this was a massive project and he knew she needed all the help she could get, even the little chick would be out of the way, he’d brought a small cage for it, he trusted the bird to stay where she was but he didn’t have a huge nest like it’s parents did and if Marahute fell, even only a foot from the ground it was lights out for the poor thing, so he’d made something small that would keep her confined while he helped. He turned to Anatoliy letting him know that he wasn’t ignoring the wolf, he also seemed rather happy about this build, which was good the more enthusiastic the wolves were about building, the better it would be.

OLOLOLO TROLOLOLO!

Rurik

“Liliyaaaa, А вы уже готовы? the silver-shaded werewolf called into the empty house. Rurik had been working in the backyard, clearing away some of the summer's growth, when he heard the faint call. Anatoliy had already departed some time ago, and they were going to be quite late if Liliya took but a moment longer. Rurik could not possibly understand why it was taking her so long to get ready; after all, today they were headed out to do some real physical work. There was no point in getting prettied up for nothing.

Liliya

“Я иду!” the cinnamon-shaded werewolf called, still messing with her hair in her room. A cracked mirror dangled precariously from the back of the door, a crooked nail and thin string holding it up. The blue-eyed woman finally threw her hair into one of the numerous bandanas she kept with her, tying it roughly behind her head. It sat before her ears and held her hair back and away from her face, which would be necessary today. The brown-hued woman dashed out front and past her father, running to the door and turning around when she'd reached the front sidewalk, prancing up and down with a huge grin on her face. “Давай, старик.” Her voice was light and teasing, and as Rurik exited the building he was smiling, unable to hold even a false stern face for more than a moment.

Liliya & Rurik

It did not take long for the pair to head to where the other canines were gathering. The elder male and his daughter were mostly silent as they made their way toward the small gathering of canines. Rurik waved toward Niro and Anatoliy as well as the two canines he was less familiar with. Anatoliy had told him about the promise to help, and Rurik wanted to throw his weight in, as well. Liliya was less eager to provide assistance, but she was a good daughter and she tended to do what her father told her, and Rurik had expressed his desire to help his packmates. The silver-shaded werewolf wandered over near the tail end of Niro's speech, and he grinned broadly. “Allo, everybody. Good afternoon for zhis work,” he commented quietly. “Allo,” added Liliya, though she was far quieter than her father. She did not possess the same prowess for social interaction as her father did, though she was far from introverted.

For tools Anann has two luperci made axes and hatchets. They are metal and a bit larger than human made ones. There are also four wooden pry bars that have been made from straight limbs/young trees. The ramps she made are notched so that once the logs get to a certain point they cant roll/slide back down. The horses will pull the logs up the ramps to the notches near the end of the ramps were the wolves can then finish the process =). There is also hammers and nails she scavenged up, but those wont come into play tell we get to the roof.

She had never doubted that Anatoliy would show up. A smile spreading across her face as soon as he came into view. Yeah, I figure it's about time I had a proper home. Though it would be a simple one. A one room house and a floor of dirt. But she would have the high ceiling that human constructions often lacked for a creature of her height. Thank you for coming Toliy, she said, smiling sweetly. How are you with an axe or hatchet? She asked, still reclined against the trunk of the tree. A hand resting on the wide belt at her hips. The horses will do most the heavy lifting. We will just need to fit the logs. Framing the roof was going to be a little more interesting, but she was using much smaller timber for that than what walls were to built from.

No more had she finished and she spotted Niro on his way from the stables. Anann waved, noticing it seemed he had brought the red-tail with him that she had noticed in the stables. It was good to see he had had some luck with his traps and that he had gotten his gloves not a moment too soon. Sure, tether him wherever you like. There wasn't a whole lot of options aside from the trees that were left standing. Though there were a couple of young trees that significantly smaller and lower limbs that would probably work as a decent perch for the bird. Rurik. Liliya. Glad you could make it! Having arrived just moments after Niro it hadn't taken long at all help to arrive.

They had enough hands to get started now. Excited to get going Anann decided that might as well get things set into motion. Heath is going to work with the horses. Ive made to set of ramps, so they will have to moved from time to time, but otherwise the horses will move most of the logs. We will just need to fit the logs and get them in place. She explained once she had everyone's attention. Because the logs will fit together at the corners, we will need to set both sides, then the front and back, and so on. So, if we could split into teams we could work a little faster. So, who is good with an axe or hatchet? Anann would probably end up jumping back and forth from helping Heath with the horses and helping with the fitting of the logs. She hoped everyone would be able to find a job they were comfortable with.

Heath will need a partner!

Heath stood by the large pale stallion. His dark eyes didn’t seem to be taking in any of the approaching wolves, ears remained still, his head only turning to touch his face with a half-hearted playfulness. But Heath knew differently, sure that he was watching just as intently. The first to arrive was unknown to the male, and so he gave a nod and kept quiet, allowing When Niro came Heath smiled, a single wave given as the other male approached. The small bird the poked out of the pouch looked brightly up at Heath. His amber gaze looked down at it, a smile still on his face. Hey, look at that. He spoke as he looked back at Niro. The day they had worked to scale the cliff side was something the Chancellor would easily forget.

As Anann began the initial instruction Heath leaned onto the horse, his weight easily accepted by the gray stallion. It was important to pay attention, though his figured as long as he got the logs up the ramp, his job was a successful. The coywolf turned to Rem and Stark as the female gave out the tools and checked the harnesses. Gingerly he tugged, making sure they fit correctly on Stark and then moved to Rem. A light colored hand lightly patted the black horse’s side before taking up the coils of rope and moving to the logs to secure them.

Anatoliy was glad to see that his father and sister did indeed come to aid Anann. If they had not, he would have been angry with them and they could enjoy a week or so of silence. "I am fine vith eizher." Tools were usually not an issue for the Russo, though some caused him problems especially if it was one he had never encountered before. But an axe or a hatchet were nothing new to his hands; the Russo had chopped plenty of firewood in his days. "Liliya, не испугано получить ваши руки пакостно," he called to his sister, wonder what kind of work she would happily do. He had no doubt she would not mind getting dirty, but he was a brother and teasing was his occupation.

Anann's explanation was easy to understand, but it was only a simple log building. It was not a complicated building of human design, with all the fancy rooms and spaces in the walls. He had never built a building like this, but thankfully, it seemed as though the woman knew how to make one. That and the other men would definitely be able to help. "Like I said, vhatever you need me to do, Anann, I vill do." The Russo picked up an axe, rotating the wood in his hand to test out the feel of it and the weight in his hands. The man by the horses seemed to be in a role different from the rest of them, as the horses were definitely a key part of this.

Niro was extremely excited to get started, he hurried to one of the more sturdy trees nearby, and let his red tail hop up, and he tethered him to the branch, which would be sturdy enough so the bird wouldn’t escape, then tied the makeshift cage nearby, putting Marahute in. Marahute didn’t really need a cage, she couldn’t hop, walk or fly, but given what they were doing he’d not risk the chick getting hurt. He hurried back to the small group in time to hear Anann ask her final question.

I’m pretty handy with an axe, not the best, but I can use one

He’d used an axe to chop the trees down he needed for the cage that was set up in the stables, and he’d used it to cut down the trees into small enough pieces to use on the cage. He was sure he could handle whatever Anann had for him to do. He loved building things next to his birding, and his newly learned leather working, he wasn’t the best but he knew he could be decent enough to make a pretty good cage and trap for birds, he’d even made shelter only big enough for him and his sister back in the slums in Florida, they never lasted, but he and his sister never planned on staying in one place. Then he noticed Rurik, and definitely his daughter, and watching her made him blush scarlet and turn away to keep her from seeing him looking at her. he knew he had a crush on her since the day he saw her back when Rurik taught him how to fish, but he was too afraid to approach her, she was so pretty and he was just a scruffy mohawk maned pup. Not to mention he respected her father as well as her brother and knew how protective he would be if his sister had some idiot swooning over her.

Rurik

Rurik listened carefully to the golden-hued woman's words, trying to keep track of the plan as best he could. Rurik was not one for a lot of planning and forethought, but he could at least follow simple directions—this was one thing he excelled at, and doing grunt work was just perfect for the silver-shaded werewolf. Perhaps if he had realized that before taking alphaship of a Syemv pack, he could have saved himself a whole hell of a lot of heartache. At Anann's question, the pale wolf lifted a hand. “I verk okay with axe,” he said. He wasn't any sort of skilled craftsman, no, but he had learned tool usage aboard the Syemv ship and during many of his travels. These skills had come in handy before, and they would do so again here. “I do vhatever you need, though.” This was said with a friendly smile, of course.

Liliya

The female Russo made a face at her brother's comment, having half-heartedly listened to Anann's plans and having only a vague idea of what they were supposed to be doing. She sidled away from Rurik as he offered his skills with an axe; Liliy doubted she could even effectively lift one skywards, let alone send it crashing down with enough force to split a log, let alone hit the log with any sort of accuracy. No, she would be most useful doing something that required slightly less strength. She looked at Anann helplessly. “I am not sure vhat I do,” she said quietly, frowning. She felt awful over their first interaction at the ball, and she truly wanted to make it up to this woman—she was nice enough for Tolichka, after all.

Alli said to skip Heath's turn since she is on vacation and so that puts Toliy next.

The idea of building a house was far more intimidating than the actual task of doing. It was not the first time Anann had over seen the construction of building but it was the first time that it was her own home. She hoped that there would be enough of them comfortable enough with an axe for them to be able to work on fitting opposite walls at the same time. It seemed it was her lucky day for the all seemed up to the task. Alright then, since the three of you think you can handle the axes I need two of you to team up to fit the logs of one set of walls, the third can help me. Liliya the only one seeming unsure where to help. Would you be comfortable helping Heath with the horses and the ropes? Anann could switch between jobs if the large stallions made her uncomfortable. If not I'm sure the guys might need a extra hand every now and then. She suggested, scratching at the back of her head. It might take a couple of logs, but I'm sure we'll all get the hang of it. It's pretty straight forward once you get it figured out.

Once everyone decided who was working with whom, Heath got the first logs pulled up the ramps. Though the walls were so low at the moment that it hardly seemed necessary to use the horses, but it would a long day and every little bit of work the wolves saved themselves now would pay off in the end. Anann worked on what would eventually be the front of her home. The wall been started solid for the first couple tiers Anann had already built up but now there was going to be a gap for the door and the wall would now be built with too shorter logs. Framing up the door as they built up the wall. The same would be done for windows in other locations higher up the walls. The back wall too had a gap, though it was for the fireplace she would build later. All the logs were roughly the correct length and their ends squared for tying together in the corners. Some excess length and some adjustments to get the logs to fit tightly together was all that should be needed. Once the newly added logs sat with no gap between it and the log under it, they moved to the wall to the right. The two teams still working on opposite walls. And so the process was repeated.

i made it!

It was easy for the male to linger in the background and remain quiet. If he knew what it was that he needed to do then Heath was perfectly fine with simply getting the job done. Large hands worked the rope around the log, securing it tightly so that it wouldn’t slip once the horses started pulling. He knotted it, looping the rope so that it would be able to become untied once it was in the right position by the foundation. He looked over as his name was called, and gave the female that he had yet to truly meet a small smile. The rest were gathering axes and readying for the splitting of logs, it seemed like the logical place for the female would be with him and the horses.

Once they were ready, the coy-wolf took the leads and looked first at Stark and then at Rem to check once more that their straps and harnesses were correct. With a clicking encouragement of his tongue he urged them forward. Rem moved first, seemingly eager to begin while the pale horse remained a step behind. Heath pulled lightly, and spoke his name in hopes of bringing him to the right speed. It wasn’t a long or hard haul, and they made it smoothly to the log cabins foundation.

I here

The idea of constructing a luperci-made home enthralled the Russo. If he had not mentioned it or thought it to himself before, he was certainly sure of it now. Somewhere inside, when the woman told them to divide up into groups, with one going with her to help, he wanted to hand off his axe and go with her. But Anatoliy had already chosen his construction tool; he could not suddenly back down like that. Besides, the point here was to build a home not to gallivant with Anann. At another time, and maybe place, sure, but it was most definitely not this moment. There was work to be done, if the barely started cabin was any indication.

The work was hard, of course, but the hybrid was not expecting it to be as easy as repairing a falling apart human habitation. He would not have asked Liliya to come and try to help if he thought it would be an easy endeavor. But at least she could be useful, helping with the horses. And not flirting with that Niro. Oh, he had seen them, but he had not bothered to interrupt. If it was going to happen in front of him, though, he would certainly be pulling his sister away, not shoving the man out of the way. They may have been separated for a while, but it did not mean he would not feel the protectiveness of any brother for a younger sister. If Niro misbehaved, though, Anatoliy could not be held responsible for where his fists flew.

Anatoliy was beginning to feel a bit warmer as the work progressed, glad his muscles had not completely degenerated while living a somewhat cozier lifestyle. Chipping at the logs was not easy, nor was it fun, but he did not complain. Though every now and then he had to pull back his hair or else it would get into his eyes. But the cabin was slowly rising from its foundations, making a smile appear on the Russo's face every time he glanced up at it to marvel at what their ingenuity could do.

OOC: HAHAHA Gen XD

Once the work began the fact that Lily was there didn’t seem to matter as much. He was a working man, and he knew if he didn’t help then things would be slower. He’d agreed to the work and he loved it. It wasn’t just a walk in the park, and he didn’t expect it to be. He did everything he was told and helped his partner. He was good on his word about being pretty handy with his hands, any mistakes he made wouldn’t have caused a total disaster, and were easily fixed by him, but there was only one. He watched the whole progress at the corner of his eye, and couldn’t believe how quickly things were progressing. It really was starting to look like a building of some sort rather than a pile of logs. He wondered if he could get a place like this made for him, but he knew he was going to the lighthouse with Orin, he hadn’t fixed any of the outer parts of it yet but he’d started tidying the inside. this was totally different it was a construction of a whole new building, and Niro loved it.

Out of Character:

fail D;

Rurik

The silver-shaded werewolf picked up the axe easily, thumping its thick handle against his hand. It was a sturdy tool, and it would serve him well. The Russian werewolf listened eagerly to the woman speak her instructions, trying to pay close attention. He had never undertaken a project of this magnitude before, and he was certainly glad there were so many hands and strong horses to assist them. Things moved along quicker than Rurik expected; as they worked in relative silence, only the occasional murmur for a tool or an adjustment passing between them, the house began to take shape, rising from nothingness to provide shelter and warmth for Anann. The silver-shaded werewolf was growing hot beneath the sun, and so he paused for a moment to sip at his flask, whistling softly. “Hard verk, but no time for rest yet, eh?” he said to no one in particular, getting back to work as quickly as he'd stopped.

Liliya

Liliya was not particularly experienced with horses—she had ridden a few times in her life, and there had been quite a few of them in Sobirat'sya. Usually the horses up that way were huge draft animals, so the size didn't quite bother her—it was simply that she had never actually done work with these animals before. Riding for pleasure was a different beast entirely, and despite her nervousness, Liliy smiled and nodded. “Of course,” she said, rather glad there was no awkwardness she could detect here. She did not know who Heath was, but it was easy enough to figure out—he was the only one other than Anann she didn't know. The tawny-hued woman was not working nearly as hard as anyone else, though, and she realized this after a few moments—while everyone else seemed to busy themselves quite well, Liliya was still almost at a loss as to what to do, so she followed after Heath and the horses, moving back and forth around the logs to make sure they were secured and not jostled too much.

Table by Gen

They had run into a few snags, but the problems were few and far between. It had been slow at the start, but as the work went on the pass quickened. For Anann it was never a dull moment as she was constantly checking to make sure everything was as it should be. She had been slightly disappointed when it had not been Anatoliy that had paired up with her, but it was probably for the best. At least this was she was actually getting her work done. She made sure each log was placed where it needed to be and proper spacing was left for windows and doors. It was not only the construction she watched (as well as helped with) but those she was working with as well. Everyone was working hard and doing their part. Anann felt it spoke a lot about the fabric of the pack. The cool morning hours vanished far too quickly and it wasn't long before the heat of the day was encroaching upon them.

As the hours had passed, the walls of her soon-to-be home had went up nearly as quickly. The sun was high in the sky and shade around there work place was slim. But since the walls were up and they would be starting to frame up the roof Anann figured it was as good of time as any for a break. Everyone had earned a rest, if not a bite to eat and cool drink. Good work, everyone. It's starting to get a bit warm so why don't we take a break. I've got dried meat if anyone's hungry and the spring has plenty of water. Thanks again, everyone, for your help! She had expected the work to go as fast as it had, that was for sure. She had called them here to work, but she didn't intend to work them to death and without food or water.

Before Anann headed down to the spring for a drink she helped Heath with the horses. They had done there part and deserved a drink as well. The logs that would be used for framing the roof were small and light compared to those that made up the walls. The wolves would be able to handle them just fine without the help of the horses. Everyone seems to be having a good time, she said to Heath. Has Rem been behaving? She doubted he would give Heath any real trouble but he was still ornery. Once the horses were unstrapped she walked down to the spring fed pool with Heath and the horses. She grabbed a strip of jerky from the pack that had been sitting in the shade, just waiting for them. So, anyone got a good story? A simple attempt at starting conversation.

The first half of the day was long and hot. Heath pulled the horses, pushing them past what he was comfortable with just as Anann called them for a break. He watched as the others placed axes down and gathered to retreat down to the stream. Heath began with Rem and loosened the straps that kept him tied to the logs, and as he worked to free the stallion Anann approached him. The Marshal gave a nod, "I thinks things have gone smoothly". Heath gave a slight laugh, Hes been fine, he knows this is for you. the joke was light and made the male chuckle slightly. He followed Anann to the stream after the horses' harnesses had been taken off. Without that job Heath was unsure what he would be doing next, but at least he had the break to figure it all out. Despite the small follies Heath had thought the the progress that they had made was more then expected. Keeping the horses on track was not as strenuous as throwing an ax, but he still held an ache in his muscles. Without another word he took a deep drink from the stream and took a piece of jerky for himself. Siting among the other works he waited for someone to start up the conversation, knowing it certainly wouldn't be him.

I late but here is I

Oh, he had built up a sweat. It was hard work and it was pretty hot doing this under the sun, even if it had not been all that long. Even with the trees nearby and a water source close, it did not dull the soft ache that was beginning to develop in his arms at the end of the day. His arms had not been worked nearly as well as his legs had been in the weeks past, and little demanded he use upper body strength out here on land. On a boat, he would have had to deal with keeping lines taut, furling and unfurling sails, and then all the other lifting and pulling needed on board a sea vessel. Occasionally, he felt weak desire to work beside the woman for whom this house was for, but he had sense enough to know those were distracting thoughts. Working with sharp tools and having distracting thoughts was not the most intelligent combination.

At last, they took a full break, rather than a few moments for themselves to get a few drinks of water and a few minutes of cool shade. Patting the part of the house they already constructed, the Russo followed the woman, eyes darting to his family to see that they were fine. He, like Heath and Anann, took some of the jerky, though forgo the stream. Though, he paused as the woman sat herself down in the shade. Where would he sit? And why did he suddenly care? Mentally shaking his head, Anatoliy sat beside Anann, though a few hand spans away, but still in the shade. "Vhat kind of stories are you vanting? Of zhings zhat have happened to us or of fairy tails?" He had a few of both, though he was sure his father had better ones to tell.

Wc:---

Niro did everything he was suppose to, he wasn’t perfect, but he was trying to do his best. Which seemed good enough, the day seemed to go by so quickly that Niro didn’t know how they got so much done in so little time… then he saw the sun and was shocked at how much time really did pass by, when Anann offered lunch he was finding himself rather hungry. He put down what he had and walked over to the small group that was gathering after getting himself something to drink from the spring Anann mentioned. He felt much more thirsty than he though he should be, but he had quenched what he needed before getting the tail end of Anann’s question. A tale? Well he had a few… and they were real. It had happened to him and his sister back in the southern lands.

I might have some, that won’t be too boring, but that’s only if no one else really wants to tell one

He said quickly, he’d rather hear of some other tale himself, to see how they would tell it and learn something new and interesting. He caught sight of his bird on the tree, and felt bad, so he went over and brought her with him, she’d been so good and quiet, she deserved something too, he’d share the meal with her. It wasn’t a big deal to him.

Word Count :: 310

It was rather easy for Rurik to lose his head in the work; it was not particularly mind-taxing, and all he had to do was keep a sharp eye out for his own and others' limbs. He had worked for much of his life on his family's fishing boats, and though the details of the jobs were entirely different, his body was quite attuned to the long hours and harsh physical labor. At seven years old, though, he had begun to feel the creeping beginnings of age; now he knew he could not quite keep pace with his younger self, and he knew he would tire long before his two-year-old counterpart.

Before long, Anann called for a break, for which Rurik was rather appreciative. He had not eaten anything for breakfast, and his stomach gurgled with vague hunger. Thirst bit at his throat and dried out his tongue, but he turned back to the others with a grin nonetheless, settling down near everyone else. Rurik reached for some of the dried meat, taking a small handful. He would wait for the others to make a second pass, and of course, he would have to ask. Manners were not entirely beyond the silver-shaded werewolf; though he easily missed the finer points of etiquette, the basics were well within his comprehension. Absently munching on the meat, the silvery wolf nodded to Anatoliy as he spoke. “Ah, stories,” he said, smiling his approval. He didn't particularly mind their origin; as much as Rurik enjoyed spinning his own tales, he loved hearing those from others, as well.

“Go for it,” Liliya said suddenly, clearly talking toward Niro. Rurik did not quite catch the look and slight smile that followed, but then again, he was mostly oblivious anyway. He rolled his shoulders and tilted his head to either side, stretching his muscles from the work.
