Tagged for Gideon and Bris for now. I also apologise for the quality and length of this post; I wanted to get this going. =D

With one franctic, sloppy movement, Ascher stopped in his tracks. Unfamiliar sights, sounds and scents surrounded the young Stormbringer pup as he surveyed the land in confusion. Where was he? Where were his siblings, Gideon, Saul and Shiloh? Did they find their way home? A million questions flooded his mind, leaving Ascher feeling quite overwhelmed. He collapsed onto the sand around him, burying his head in his paws as the events of that night replayed themselves over and over, like a broken record, in his head.

He remembered nuzzling himself against Mama's warm soft body, lying next to Gideon. He didn't remember when - or where, if they'd even said so - Saul and Shiloh had stalked away but it didn't matter to him at the point in the night. But just as he was falling into his slumber, Grandma came. Ascher didn't know what she was doing there so late at night, but still embraced her entrance. Instead she had pushed him aside, into a heap of dust next to where the small family had been sleeping, heading straight for Mama. After that, everything seemed... fuzzy. Mama had fallen asleep and Grandma had lurked away, much to Ascher's disappointment. He wanted to play! A pool of a red, so dark it looked black, liquid surrounded Mama and her limp, sleeping body. Ascher had never seen such a liquid - he had wanted to taste some, to get an idea of what it might be, but Giddy had told him not to. In an incoherent fit of anger toward his brother for not allowing him to do what he wanted to and confusion on why Mama wouldn't wake up, Ascher had bounded off into the night in search for their home. Maybe someone there would be able to answer all of his unsolved questions.

Looking back on it now, Ascher knew he had been foolish. He should have stayed with Gideon and they could have looked for the answers together. That would have been the safest decision. Ascher Stormbringer had always been the most timid of his siblings - lurking about in the night time alone was an act he thought he'd never partake in. After wandering aimlessly for a few hours, Ascher hadn't discovered anything, only his curiosity grew. His tongue lolled out of his mouth as he looked around nervously, afraid of what be watching him. What was out there? Ascher peered through his paws, his piercing silver eyes just barely visible. Although nothing appeared out of the norm, the pup couldn't help but shiver anxiously. He buried his face again with his paws and let out a whimper. "Momma," He called out to her but knew, of course, that she didn't - couldn't - hear him.

ooc:

He was settling into life with his new family very well. Things had been rather quiet in the house lately...or perhaps it just seemed that way to the boy. He walked the lands like a shadow, preferring to watch others and observe their actions before revealing himself. He was still very much afraid of others in the pack, especially higher ranking wolves; his grandfather Azrael had been quite a tyrant, and his ways still had an effect on the young pup. It didn't help that he hadn't seen any of his siblings for a month...he had nearly given up on ever seeing any of them again. Aunt Bris tried to keep his spirits up, but the boy was usually quite the sullen creature.

Gideon normally traveled by night, but today he had snuck out of the house during the daylight hours. The Dahlian boy kept to the darker parts of the woods, where he would blend in better, small paws taking him toward the border area. He wanted to head out and explore some of the surrounding lands; he hadn't been outside Dahlia yet at all. He glanced toward the sky, then back down at the ground in front of him. It looked like it might rain sometime soon, hm. Maybe it was best to stay inside the territory.

He was just reaching the border when the decision was made; a tiny drop of rain hit him between the eyes, and he began to turn around to go back to the mansion. He hated rain. Hated precipitation..and wind, and coldness. Gideon would do anything to stay out of the crap. The house was the best place to be when it was raining.

The pup was about to start running back toward home when a peculiar and familiar smell hit his nose. He froze in his tracks, unsure, for nearly a minute before whipping his body around and racing toward the promising scent. This was the one thing that he would risk getting wet for...that he would walk through a million thunderstorms for. He could smell his family. Gideon was on the other pup within a few minutes, and he stood a couple of meters away from Ascher, turquoise eyes staring at him. He couldn't believe that this was happening, that this was all real.

"Isss I dweamin? Ascher? You...you smell weird!" He wanted to touch his brother, to give him some sort of reassurance, but he had to be sure that this was all real first and not some kind of dream.

Yaaay! *dance*

She'd been shadowing him since he'd left the house. Bris had no idea if her nephew knew she was keeping a watchful over him, as he'd shown no signs of the knowledge. The yearling was beginning to get used to her new responsibilities with her brother's children, but she was still learning. Giddy had managed to sneak out quite a few times without her knowledge, and the thought of something happening beyond her reach had scared her to death, especially after her little run-in with Kol's killer recently on the beach. Not needing the speed of her lupine form to keep up with the adventurous pup, Bris kept to the shadows of the larger trees in her optime form. The white woman figured she could better protect Giddy in her larger phase should anything unexpected happen.

The pup's journey was, for the most part, uneventful. The weather had steadily grown overcast with the threat of rain as he'd wandered, and Bris had made the decision that if it started to pour, she'd blow her cover and take her nephew home before he got drenched. It would seem, however, that the boy would make the decision to end his adventure for her. As the first drops of summer rain began to fall, the Stormbringer pup turned and began to head back in the direction of the house. Bris smiled to herself as she watched from her hiding place, then widened her eyes in silent surprise as the same scent that caught her nephew's attention reached her nose at the same moment. Giddy instantly took off in the direction of the new scent, and Bris' white form emerged from the trees to follow.

It didn't take the dark puppy long to find the owner of the strangely familiar scent. A pup looking to be Gideon's age lay cowering alone as the rain drizzled around him. The way Giddy was acting, Bris knew this could only be one of two possible pups: Ascher or Saul Stormbringer. The way he was curled up into himself implied the former, as Gideon had made known Ascher's timid nature. The assumption was confirmed as Bris' ocean-eyed nephew spoke up, and the woman smiled as she approached and knelt down beside Giddy, not wanting to frighten the scared brother any more than he already was. Bris' mismatched eyes sparkled happily as she placed a loving hand on Gideon's head, then turned her attention to his little lost sibling. "Ascher! We've been looking everywhere for you! Giddy was so worried about you, we all were." Knowing that the frightened boy would probably feel better if his brother took the lead, Bris stopped before introducing herself. She didn't want to overload the poor lost boy with too much all at once.

ooc talk

Ascher peered only out from his paws to look up at the sky. It was cloudy and overcast and the little Stormbringer pup could smell rain faintly in the distance. No doubt, it would soon begin to shower. Ascher never encounted any problems with rain or thunderstorms or any of the occurences it brought; he actually found it calm and refreshing, as if it washed away all the Earth's troubles. But the thought of being stranded alone in the midsts of a storm made him shiver again and cower deeper into the pile of sand he was currently lying in.

Soon, a few drops of rain began to bounce off Ascher's head. He mustered up the courage to stand up, to get away from there and continue looking for a warm, dry place to stay, if not home itself. The puppy inhaled and a scent caught his nose - a very familiar scent. Although slightly masked by the approaching thunderstorm, it was a scent that he knew he'd never forget. His family. A puppy, who appeared about his age, emerged into the clearing soon after he came to his realization.

Gideon.

Ascher was face-to-face with his long lost brother. He felt a twinge in his heart, a feeling that had seemed so foriegn to him in the past month ever since Mama had fallen asleep and his siblings had seemingly disappeared. He didn't know what to call it (happiness? hope? love?) but it reminded the Stormbringer pup of the warm nights he used to spend cuddled up with Mama and his brothers and sister. When Giddy spoke, Ascher could feel the corners of his mouth twisting up in a smile. "Brafur! It me, it me! I is Ascher! No, no dweam!"

As soon as the words escaped his lips, however, an another wolf surfaced. She seated herself next to Gideon, placing a hand on his head. Ascher felt himself sink deeper into the sand, terrified of the stranger. He wanted to be alone with Giddy, not with this woman. Ascher felt as if he deserved; he hadn't seen his brother for months and now when he finally did, he couldn't do it alone. "Who wu? Who wu?" He blinked his piercing silver eyes at the woman, millions of thoughts running through his head. Ascher was careful not to bombard her with questions, however, and sat tight, his muzzle buried beneath his front paws.

Gideon was surprised when Bris stepped out from the shadows behind him, but his surprised look soon changed to one of happiness. If this was all true and not a dream, that Ascher was really here, then he would have had to call her anyway! He was happy she was here. All that he knew was that she had been the one to find him...and that she was his family. They would have to call the leader, too..but he would have definitely wanted her there. It would be ok if Ascher came to stay, wouldn't it?! He would have to make sure.

His sibling assured him that it wasn't a dream, and his aunt addressed the other boy. Giddy's tail kept up a quick, steady wag, and he gave small yips of excitement every few seconds. He couldn't help it any more! He took a few steps forward so that he was closer, leaning forward so that he might put his head over his brother's upper back. It was a sort of a hug, as much as he could do. But ugh...Ascher really did smell bad to him! Gideon smelled like the pack, now.

Shiloh had come back, too, and news of her arrival spilled from his mouth. "Shiwow is hewe! She comed too! But where Saul at?! Where he go?" He asked, sitting back to look at his littermate. "An' dis lady is ok! she ok! She nice! She giefed me an sissy a home! Daddy's sisturr, Drey sistur I founded..she is Bris! Aunn' Bris!"

OMFG. *dies from cute overload* XDDD I'm gonna have Bris call Conor in this post, especially since they've been hoping and expecting the rest of the siblings to show up! Just edit the title of your post so Libri knows we need Conor! ;D

She could understand the little boy's apprehension completely. Bris had heard stories of her devil of a father from the Stormbringer side of her family, stories that admittedly gave her nightmares. She couldn't imagine a life in a pack under his twisted dictatorship, and Gideon had already come so far from the terrified and cowering little lump he'd been when Conor and Bris had found him. With time, hopefully the same changes would appear in Shiloh and Ascher. They deserved a normal puppyhood, surrounded by adults who loved them, a puppyhood decidedly different from the one she knew they'd have under the Dawnrunners' control.

Bris' smile broadened as Giddy moved to embrace his brother. She chuckled as she realized she didn't have to answer Ascher's question, as the Dahlian pup had taken the lead and told his brother pretty much everything she figured he'd need to know. The kneeling woman kept quiet as the brothers reunited. Gideon had the education part of the reunion in his complete control, and she was really only needed to supervise and watch over them. Bris' heart melted at the obvious relationship the pups shared, and as they talked, she found herself chuckling quietly until she felt it was time to annouce the good news to the one who should hear it most. "Giddy, fill your brother in on everything. I'm going to go ahead and give Conor a shout and let him know Ascher's safe and sound, ok?"

The yearling winked at her nephew, ruffling his ears with her hand as she rose to her feet, taking a few steps away to let the brothers get reacquainted. Satisfied with the distance between her and her charges, Bris took a deep breath and pointed her black nose to the stormy sky. Gentle rolls of thunder added a counterpoint to her song, a melody that she knew would stretch across the packland to the cozy little house she now called home with the pups, Vark, and Conor. Her message to the alpha was simple: Giddy found Ascher, hungry but unharmed! Will start heading home! After her informative call was over, the woman quietly made her way back to the little pair of wet pups. Crouching down beside them, her soft voice was a gentle warmth against the cold of the falling rain. "What do you say we start heading back to the house and get you two dry and warm, mmm? I let Conor know we found a tagalong, he'll either meet us out here or at the house. Ascher, I'll bet you're probably hungry too. There's plenty to eat back home, and Shiloh will be so excited to see you."

Yay another Stormbringer puppy! Big Grin Welcome! I'll get you titled up asap!

Puppies everywhere. It was a shame that the pack no longer had an official baby sitter, because there was great need for one. Not that the children were too unruly or anything along those lines -- it was just that there currently were a lot of puppies! Children was a blessing no matter how the copper and cinnamon coated leader turned his perspective, and as Bris' song rose in the distance close to Dahlia's borders, he knew what the occasion was. Another Stormbringer child had been found. He was relieved, of course hoping that it was both Saul and Ascher that finally had been spotted and taken in. He lifted his own muzzle and let a melodic response rise from the home in Wolfville. Bris and the children should just get moving. He did not find it a necessity to control check the canines that sought homes, especially not children that belonged. The Soul yearling would never be able to turn away a child. He turned and walked into the large house that housed the majority of Dahlia's children, seeking out the present young to inform them that more, new friends would be joining them soon.

Yaay! =D Sorry for the short post. D8 Shall we wrap this up?

When Ascher heard the mention of Shiloh, he nodded excitedly and his silver eyes shone happily. As much of a nuisance his sister had been toward him, the little pup was glad he finally had most of his family - considering Saul was still missing - in one place. "I dunno! Saul... he he gone fen I feft home!" Ascher replied simply, giving a small, sad shake of his head. Soft squeals and barks of excitement escaped his lips as he began to smile. Turning his attention to the woman, Ascher smiled up at her. Giddy had called her Bris, Aunt Bris. "Hi der, Aunty Bris," He said coyly, twirling his paw in the sand in front of him. "I is Ashwer! But wu knew dat!" Ascher giggled slightly and paused as Bris sat down next to the two brothers, her calm, melodic voice ringing in his ears.

As she began talking about going home, Ascher couldn't help but feel a deep surge of melancholy; he missed his old home with Mama. Although young, he still understood that he would not be going back. This was his new home, in Dahlia de Mai, with Bris and Giddy and Shiloh - hopefully eventually Saul, too. He gathered enough courage to nod, saying, "Okay! Food good! Ashwer is hungwee!" He had not realized but his words were true; Ascher's stomach rumbled at the thought of a nice, dry bed and a good meal to match. Besides, Shiloh would also be there and he could not wait to see his long lost sister.

Yesh! This'll be my last post, and maybe Bris once more if Jassy wants ^^ Then close!! Mine's a bit short; about to leave for the parade!<3

Gideon had been so hungry when Bris had first found him; he understood that feeling! He was glad that his brother was alive, and proud at the pup's skills--somehow the boy had managed to find enough food to keep himself going until he had found Dahlia de Mai and the rest of his family. They were still looking for Dreyrugr, Bris had told him, and Saul hadn't come yet...but he felt sure that they would see them again.

Bris gave a howl and they started walking toward the house. It wasn't long before a return howl came from the area ahead of them, and he recognized the sound of Conor's voice. Gideon was still a little fearful of the leader despite how nice Conor had seemed...but he wasn't as entirely terrified of the wolf as he had been when they had first met. It was a nice step.

"Oh...ok. I sure he is out there somewhere! We finds him and daddy!" He said to Ascher, nodding as they grew closer to the house. The normally quiet boy was bursting with energy as they went, running along ahead then looping back toward the other two wolves. He hoped Shiloh was there inside the house so she could come and see Ascher, too. Then, food time!

OOC: Yay, final post! Time to archive! ^^ *loves on*

Bris smiled softly as Conor's warm voice drifted across the packlands in response to her information. There was no need for him to come out and inspect this particular newcomer, as Dahlia had an unwritten code to never turn away puppies or injured at her borders. Besides, this pup happened to be a Dahlian relative anyway, and for all intents and purposes he belonged within her. Dahlia could give the lost Stormbringer pups (Shiloh included, though she'd chosen to take her mother's name) a far better future than the Dawnrunners could.

As Ascher introduced himself officially, Bris chuckled, her gentle smile radiating warmth and happiness. "Alright you two, let's get going. Giddy, don't run too far ahead! Don't lose your brother." The rain began to fall a little harder as the trio made the trek back in the direction of Conor's voice. The white woman had no doubt that Ascher would know all the secrets to be known about the house in Wolfville before they even arrived, such was the excitement and stream of words coming from his brother's mouth. Shiloh would be ecstatic, for sure, especially since little Ascher seemed to be the missing pup everyone worried about the most. With three of the siblings now safely making their home with the other pack pups in Wolfville, that left only one more until the family was whole again, or as whole as it could feasibly be. As they walked in the greyness of the rain, Bris sent up a silent prayer that Saul would be found soon, and made it a point to head out with the dawn on another search for the missing child. Spirits only knew where their father was, but the young Stormbringer was determined to give her brother's children the life they so greatly deserved. It would be no one's fault but his own if Drey missed out on their childhood.
