Word Count :: 374 I cannot guarantee that Eris is in the best of moods, so repliers beware? XD Highway 103.

It had been days or weeks since the coal-hued woman had seen the coyote clan's borders. The last person she'd spoken with had been her mother, and Eris hadn't enjoyed that conversation in the least. She'd been tricked, she'd been betrayed, and she was utterly powerless to do anything about it. If she fought her mother on this point, if she tried to force the scarred coyote to reveal the truth, she would move backwards, and her mother would grow more stubborn. She would never learn the truth of her paternity if she shoved back. She could not resort to such tactics; they simply would not work. Eris barely knew her mother, and yet she knew this to be absolute truth. There was no kindness in the scarred woman for Eris, and this would have been perfectly acceptable to the coal-shaded woman if Kaena did not possess the knowledge Eris so desperately desired. She had traveled or wandered almost to the edge of this known world, to the ocean at the end of the peninsula. The air here was crisp and smelled of salt; Eris inhaled it deeply and found it free of fresh scents.

Itzcitla was not present, but the cat was close as always. These hot summer days were perfect for him, and he spent much of his time sunning himself in the trees. He always came as the sable hybrid called him, though—she had no fear of him disappearing. Without the cat, she surely would have starved—by now the ocelot was adept at taking down raccoons, and he was growing more ferocious with even larger prey. He would get used to the animals of this part of the world eventually. Eris was pleased with his progress, and displeased with her own. She had learned nothing since coming to Inferni, and she had spent the last several weeks skulking about this end of the territory. The highway stretched in front of her, long and straight and extending forever as far as her eyes could tell. She did not truly know where she was, but the sable coyote was not so completely useless that she did not know to head north to find home. She would return—when she was ready.

Yuki isn't scared of any thing D:<. Except for maybe lady bugs.. No one likes ladybugs.

She had never understood why humans had called it a highway, it wasn't tall, or wide, it just dragged on forever.. Between the cracks that had made the cement path their home vegetation grew over time. Most of them a pale, faded brown; clearly showing that they had lost their luster long ago. She had heard about wheeled blocks that had once traveled down the rode, but couldn't make sense of why any one would need something of that sort. "If you needed to get some where you could walk, or run; how lazy they must've been.."She mumbled a loud. She didn't bother to think about whether or not humans may of been built for going long distances, even though she had heard that they walked on only two legs..

Yuki tried to ignore the faint smell of the ocean that floated about as she walked along the highway. She was afraid if she got too used to it, it wouldn't be as rousing and exciting as it had been the first time she smelled it. She had planned to stay away from the ocean for a while. She had wanted to leave and not come back for a year or two, then when she eventually visited again it would be new all over again.. But she had found she didn't really know how to stay away..

After she had memorized every crack, old frost heave, and stone, she finally came across some thing living. Her head snapped up when she caught a wiff of the creature's scent in the gentle breeze. From what little she was able to see, it looked as if it was a full blooded wolf, but her ears were much to large. Her paw pads flattened each time they pressed against the cement, feeling over each unceremonious pebble. She wanted to stop herself from moving closer, but she desired to be in the presence of another living being. A horrid habit she thought she had broken; actually enjoying others. Though the wolf hybrid did not seem very friendly, Yuki decided to try to strike up a conversation any ways. And, so came out the most intelligent word she could think of at the moment. "Ehhh..Hi."

"Talks." "Thinks" Does.

Eris had seen very little in the way of other canines the time she had spent away from Inferni; she had come to this very place since it was so far from home, but she had not realized it was so tucked away from packs, either. The sable-shaded hybrid had just gotten lucky in that respect, and so weeks had passed without the Equites having spoken a single word to another living being. Maybe that had made her a little crazy, maybe it had made her a little stronger—weeks of isolation and contemplation with no one but oneself for company could go either way. It could destroy and cause damage, and it could strengthen and fill in the cracks. Eris hadn't come across any particular revelations either way—she was still stuck, she was still lost in the interim. Her mother would give her nothing.

There was no attachment or affinity within the shadow-furred canine for the sea; she was not like her mother, the woman who craved and mirrored the sea and derived strength from it. She did not remember the first Inferni territory so well—it was little more than sand and ocean in her mind. Eterne had not been so far from the sea, but it was a landlocked city, and the shadowy woman had not suffered at the lack of direct access to the ocean. It was pretty to look at sometimes, but beyond that, Eris did not know what to make of the ocean. She had never been on a boat, and she did not think she would like it. So much as thinking of traveling across the wide ocean made her stomach roll.

She hadn't caught the sounds of the other canine's approach, of course—off in her own world and unexpecting of company, the sable-shaded woman was taken by surprised by the time she finally noticed the strange-looking canine. Eris did not know what to make of this one—she had seen dogs in her life a few times, but she did not recognize those traits in this black and white canine. “Hi,” she said, responding just as awkwardly. Something in her yearned for companionship despite all of the seething bitterness; this woman did not look like anything that belonged in Inferni. Maybe that was what Eris needed. “Um. Long way from home, too?” she said, turning to face the other canine fully. She reached her hand up and behind her head, scratching behind her ear and looking at the ground after she'd spoken.

The crickets in Texas are like, the length of my finger, fur srs man. Oh, btw, Yuki gets creepy when shes alone for too long, especially creepy when she gets to the point of wandering an old highway and talking to herself. (:

Yuki's tail hung just between her legs as the wolf dominate hybrid spoke of a home. "Home, huh?" It was a question she had been avoiding since she had left her family. A home was a place where you felt safe, protected, loved "Of that I have none." her words were cold, as she came to the realization of how they had came out she attempted to warm them up with some light laughter. "A home, is a place where your wanted. That is a place, for me, that I'm sure is much to far away to miss."

A familiar sound triggered her attention, the sweet chirping of her friend. As the tiny Tufted Titmouse landed beside her, she spoke with a cracked and lonely voice "I believe, that being in the presence of the ocean is as close to heaven as I'll ever get.." her voice trailed off, leaving out the words she couldn't bear to say. She pondered the chances of this person actually caring about a word she said. Her lips mumbled the familiar words she had once heard long ago to explain what she had meant:

"h'airr rin a kan a-he-ra,
h'airr rin a kan o-rhay-na?
E-a nno llow rro;
A rhee a mmay?"

They seemed to ring more true then ever. They words were of the Loxen language, not one that many used any more. "Mountains, solitude and the moon until the journey's end? The river holds the lost road of the sky; the shape of eternity?" She translated, her tail was now raised and wagging as Chip chirped praisingly beside her. She was in doubt that the creature would even understand what she was trying to say. "The ocean will pave the gateway to heaven.." she swallowed hard as she tried to finish her thought "Or hell."

Word Count :: 359 a fast reply x_x you don't get many of these out of me anymore :p

The sable-shaded hybrid could identify the wolfish traits in the the other canine, but there was no discernible hint of coyote, so whatever else this woman was mixed with, Eris could not tell. She supposed it hardly mattered anyway; she had learned what it was to be unwanted by coyotes for being a wolf, and she did not wish to live in such a way. She would not carry on with her mother's hate—there was no reason for it, as Eris saw it. Her own family, her flesh and blood, had hurt her far more than any wolf ever had. The sable-shaded canine smirked at her companion's sentiment, finding herself reflected there—what place wanted her? Eterne had kicked her out, and Inferni merely tolerated her. There was nowhere else to go. “I could almost say the same. No place wants you, no place to call home,” she agreed. The hulking shell of a car provided a seat, and the sable shaded canine scooted back on it, crossing her legs. Though the old metal groaned under her weight, it remained steady.

“Why? It's just water,” she said, her voice challenging, though laced with apathy—it didn't bother her what this canine believed; she merely wished to see if those beliefs ran deep. The strange words caused the woman to cock an ear and a brow; she wondered for a moment if she had stumbled on another nutcase like Cotl. And then the woman spoke again translating—even in English the words ended up sounding something like a prayer, something like an incantation—the ones she had used and heard in Eterne were nothing like this. They were not in any language Eris knew, and yet she could feel the power radiating from them. She had not known her mother tongue could have that same power. A soft chirping noise caught the woman's attention, and she noticed the small bird for the first time. Tilting her head at this, she looked back to the wolf hybrid, a question she could not quite put in words on the tip of her tongue. “Where do you learn these words?” she asked.

Crappy post n-n

"Do you not know how to look past what people want you to believe?" She questioned the females words "Do you not find it amazing how you can look into this liquid air and see a whole 'nother world?" She took a step towards the wolf with golden eyes and softened her position, lowering herself to rest on the cold ground. Her head rested on her paws as she viewed the world around her, the creatures, the earth, the spirits.. Dangerous and amazing all at the same time.

"I am not one who believes in the close-mindedness of religion." She stated with a laugh. Maybe she was insane, or maybe she had learned to just look more closely at things. "Though you behold much beauty, you do not seem to be much of a believer." She placed the compliment casually, quickly switching back to the main topic "Loxian, is the name of the language. It was believed to be an elvish language some time ago, but no one can prove that for sure." She paused, her lips turning up at the edges at the thought of the words leaving the mouth as something so beautiful as an elf. The words that had been spoken earlier seemed poetic, though they did not exactly flow together. "A man whom I had known since I was a youngster.. He taught me the beauty of Loxian.. A human had been known to sing in Loxian. Her name was Enya.. Those words, lyrics, are the same that she had spoken long ago. They seem like a prayer almost." Her words hung mid air, ready to float away in the gentleness of the breeze"Tell me, do you fear the unknown?"

Liquid air and different worlds were something the sable-shaded canine was well-versed in; she stared openly at the other canine, her bright chartreuse eyes reflecting confusion and interest both. Though the other canine stepped forward, Eris made no defensive move. She was hardly a fighter, and she did not know how to properly defend herself—if attacked, her best hope was to call to Itzcitla and hope the feline did not die in defense of his mistress.

“No. I can't see the other worlds without help,” she stated. This was truth—she could see nothing until she had her blood. Yet other crutches were present in Eterne—some could not see without their physical tools, the things they used to scry the future and discern the past. The sable-shaded woman was not alone in her reliance on an outside source of power to see; even so, she envied this canine, if she did not see the other world around her at all time. What Eris would not have given for that—she refused to see such a thing as a curse.

As the woman again spoke, Eris quite nearly took offense—her religion was Eterne, Ometeotl, the Atotoztli. She remembered—Eterne had abandoned her, and the Atotoztli had deemed her unfit. They had abandoned her all the same for her wolf's blood, for her lies and crimes she could not help but commit—her only loyalty was to Ometeotl now, not the institution using him to prop themselves up. A slow smile spread across her face instead, and she rolled her shoulders in a shrug.

“You don't need a church to be religious. My beliefs are my own,” she said, convinced of her uniqueness—only she had rejected the institution surrounding Ometeotl and embraced him for what he truly was—hers. In Eris's head, her supposed purity, her very exocommunication from the religion where she drew her beliefs, made her the Mamexi. The female prophet or bride, whatever she was, of Eternie was nothing more than a falsehood.

“Humans destroyed this world. Their beliefs are meaningless,” the sable-shaded woman asserted. She held no affinity for people; they were dead and gone long before even her mother had walked this earth, and thus, they were beyond Eris's periphery. “Whatever power their languages held, it diminishes by the day,” the coyote hybrid added, rolling her shoulder in a shrug.

“No,” she answered simply to this final question, smiling faintly. It was a knowing sort of smile, one of a creature who had been to the edge of madness, peered over its edge, and plunged in headfirst—Eris was the unknown and the unknown was Eris, and she had nothing to fear within herself.

Yuki looked over the hybrid again, then let out a laugh that had been well held. When she spoke again, her words seemed to be spun with annoyance as well as acceptance "Funny. Almost all the words of the english language can be used to hurt others." she had learned this from her mother. The monster that had gave birth too her made every word of the english language sound evil. Though she herself was young compared to most, it seemed that she picked up some thing from every place she went, as well as every experience she had. She was easily swayed, a disgusting mixture of evil and good. Too her, no one was completely innocent. Any one who claimed to be innocent was more of a liar then any thing else.

"I don't think I would care enough to have a religion. This entire world is what I worship, not what others believe." She took a minute to consider what she was saying, then came to the conclusion that she really didn't give a damn if she was passing into unfamilar grounds. She couldn't come up with a reason why any one would even look down upon another for believing in some thing different then what they themselves were taught to believe. "Humans were many things, but I do not believe all of them were destroyers. Not all of us are good, as not all of them were spiteful" some thing in her mind was telling her to add some thing else, it was on the tip of her tongue, yet it seemed not ready to leave yet. Her eyes were drawn back to to the female while she spoke again "Your not blameless either, but you know that, don't you?" she wasn't sure if she would answer, it wouldn't really matter if she did or not. It was common to not want to own up to your own faults, Yuki wasn't even sure she could say her own.

There was a smile across the sable-shaded woman's face that was at once cruel and immensely sad. She considered the multi-hued canine carefully, her chartreuse-colored eyes still suspicious of the other, though realizing by now they intended no harm to one another. “Even silence can be used to hurt,” she said, thinking daggers in her mother's general direction. There was nothing but infuriating silence from the scarred coyote. No information, no revelations, nothing. Kaena would give her nothing, and there was nothing Eris could do but rage quietly.

The canines of Atototzli were not particularly pushy with their religion; certainly they believed as most organized religions that non-believers were blasphemous. However, it was not a part of their creed to convert—a coyote or hybrid had to desire that of their own volition and will. There was no shoving and no preaching in Eterne, but of course, that was not the only way to convert. There was silent pressure as well, the unspoken haughtiness of the true believers versus even those who whispered to the Tehano winds rather than Ometeotl himself. “Religion might not be worth having, but maybe faith is,” Eris said slowly, finding herself agreeing with part of what the other canine said. She did not know if she believed the entire earth held power; she did not truly nod her head toward mother nature and belief in her power, though even she could find beauty within the natural world.

“Maybe not, but enough of them were,” she said, a faint and again cruel smile lighting on her sable-shaded muzzle. She delighted in their fate; if it were not for the death of man, the canines would not have their day now. At the thought of her own blame, the coyote hybrid looked taken aback, folding her ears against her skull. “I did nothing to deserve this,” she said, seething. She had not asked for her father; she had not asked to be born at all.

"No..." she softened again, lowering her eyes and running her tongue over her lips as she thought of what to say next, "Many don't deserve what they have to endure." her thoughts of Kina twisted into her brothers' image. The eyes of the canine seemed to have a trace of loss, but when she grasped how set she was on hiding it, Yuki said nothing."I have always found being yelled at or.." Her voice trailed off; not sure of if she should continue, "-Being punished by pain.. Is much better then silence." she was almost completely sure the animal would disagree, but let the silence sit, leaving herself uncomfortable.

Something of a chuckle rumbled in her throat, "I agree, maybe I should have faith. I just don't know where to find it." technically speaking; it was true. But it made her feel a pinch of guilt, like the words she used were only there to coat a lie. Her definition of faith was to believe, which she couldn't. If she were to believe; to trust someone, or something., she would seem vulnerable. "As if I need others! Ha!" She had never had friends, maybe because she came off as a jerk, or some thing worse.

The thought of leaving the animal with coyote ears in peace lingered in the back of her mind. After all, she would need to find a place to rest soon. Earlier she had found a rabbit reckless enough to run down an empty high way when a hungry animal was walking along it. The meat had been a bit to dry for her tastes, she didn't particularly enjoy rabbit meat any ways. It hit her that she had not asked the woman what her name was, "A rose is no less beauitful if it is not named.." she whispered aloud, smiling as she thought of how poetic she had been lately. "Probably because you spend to much time alone and have time to come up with these things." She scoffed at the nagging in her head, giving it a silent glare. "Damnit, talking to yourself AND making faces. Now you've really gone insane.." She thought. The fact that she had not seen Chip all day might of been the cause, or an excuse; considering she talked to herself even when he was around.

Thoughts. Talks. Does.

Maybe the sable-shaded hybrid would have preferred rage from her mother; at least if there was anger, hurt, pain, there was something. Kaena neither loved her nor hated her—she was stuck in the interim, not truly wanted at home but with nowhere else to go. It was only the virtue of her blood itself that had gained her acceptance back with Inferni, and she did not place much value on this blood herself. Her family meant little to her; she could hardly remember her littermates, and they were long gone, it would seem. The sable-shaded woman did not know of Andrezej's death, but neither he nor Rachias nor Arkham were still around. “Mmm. At least you know they still care, right? Anger before apathy,” she said, rolling one shoulder upward in a shrug.

The coyote woman looked to her companion with mild surprise written on her face, yellow-green eyes slightly widened and ears pricked in curiosity. “It would sound like you have quite a bit,” the woman started, tilting her coal-colored head to the side. “If you think the world is so powerful in its beauty, anyway,” Eris said, trying not to sound derisive in the least now; she did not truly understand such beliefs, but it did not mean she had to mock them. At the canine's next words, the Infernian's face crinkled in confusion; she did not see how beauty and roses related to her vague problem. “What is that supposed to mean?” she said, sounding more demanding and snappish than she had intented to.

"My family didn't turn their backs, they died." The bi-eyed colour female said matter-of-factly "I watched them be slaughtered, by those of our own kind. They killed and ate my mother and my siblings when we were just pups." She sucked in her breath as she let out the part she hated to share the most, "But my brother, he left me when he saw 'them' coming.. Well, he left us, all of us." Her voice lowered on the word them for dramatic effect; she stood as if she was waiting for the gothic piano to kick in with its 'duh duh duh' sound. It wasn't like he had left the family as a whole, he had left Yuki, and he took a part of her with him. "Yes, you may never know if the rose loves you, as well. But at least it will not leave you when you need it the most."

"You remind me much of a rose..-" She worked hard to keep her voice as level as possible as she spoke, "Frail and hard to read, yet beautiful and strong enough to not perish, yes?" She smiled and sat down, not bothering to push the boundary between them. "Though you do breathe." She said smiling wider at her own joke.

It was not that Eris was incapable of having deeper thoughts; she simply was not accustomed to such contemplations. The sable-shaded coyote had taken a considerable amount of time to walk away from the Atototzli, even thousands of miles away from where she had learned their ways and beliefs. Tradition, deviant and strange from the norm around here as it was, was ingrained into the sable-shaded woman just as firmly as it was her traditional mother. She had to work to reject it, and even so, she could not completely abandon everything they had taught her. Eris honestly and truly believed in her god, her visions, her faith. She could not leave that in the dust, though she had stripped the institution of religion from it, leaving just the bare bone and beating heart of Ometeotl.

“I can agree with that,” the wolf-coyote shot back, though more timidly than she might have if she were with her own kind, not quite so far away from home. The last thing she needed was confrontation; though her flesh and fangs itched to release the pent-up rage that had accumulated in her over the past month, she was not guaranteed to win such a conflict, and she was so very far from home. Severe injury could lead easily to death, and such a thing was not something the chartreuse-eyed woman pursued. “My family's got its back to me, too,” she said, her tone infinitely softer. She could identify easily with abandonment—her mother had never truly cared for her. Hell, Kaena had probably been glad to see her gone—vengeance was the driving force behind her pursuit of Astaroth rather than recovery of her own damn daughter.

“A rose will also wither away,” she pointed out. But wasn't that their fate anyway? In the end, was this not all an endless march to... well, the end? “Would you rather stand still and wait for the end, or would you rather at least try to scratch some enjoyment out of the whole mess before you're gone?” she queried, honestly curious. Was it worthwhile to pursue life at all, if none of it mattered? She just wanted to know whatever it was Kaena knew and get the hell on with her life, whether that was Inferni or elsewhere. The interim was killing her.

Zomg! Ignore the post above yours... I meant to quote and get just the code, but I guess I typed it there too.. But now its here too, so just ignore that? D:

There was nothing in Eris that was sympathetic; it would seem such an emotion was simply beyond her, or maybe she was simply so self-absorbed that she could not help but be ignorant of even the existence of such feelings. If there was just one thing easily discernible about the sable-shaded hybrid, it was her selfishness. Even so, she saw herself reflected in the stranger's tale about her family, and she smiled a toothy and humorless grin. “Vengeance isn't on your mind?” the woman asked, genuinely surprised by this prospect. Looking at her mother, one might have inferred vengeance was the only thing worth pursuing in life. In Eris's mind, this was the most natural course—revenge for her family, or on her cowardly brother.

The canine was troubled by the comparison, troubled by the analogy—what was a rose good for, anyway? There was no power lurking within them, no mystic ability for anything. They smelled good, but they died quickly, withering once they were cut from the earth. “Maybe. If I am a rose, then you're the only one to see me that way,” she said, her voice rather caustic. Her mother saw no value in her; nobody back at home did, and it was all Kaena's fault—she had twisted the story in her own favor long before Eris had even come here.

"Absolutely not, my mother was a beast and my brother knew I wasn't worth saving any way." She knew she couldn't expect her brother to save her from all the dangers she came across, could she? The thought that he didn't even try was what ate her up inside. She rolled her eyes and squeezed her maw shut. "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," The annoyance inside her began to climb up her throat before it boiled over, "You don't seem to be very beautiful on the inside though, that is certainly clear to me." She was capable of saying much worse things, but left her with the silence. She sat stone faced and staring at the odd eyed creature.

Word Count :: 310

Though the air was fraught with a vague tension, there was no hostility in the shade-colored female. Weak and combat-inexperienced as she was, Eris simply could not risk the slightest provocation to this bi-colored female. Not that she was even particularly inclined toward aggression at the moment. The tension here was far from thick and heavy-handed; instead, it was a simplistic sort of wariness, an animal cautiousness of something different from oneself. Eris was far from a bastion of tolerance and acceptance, but she was not hateful as her mother; she would not attack on basis of such simplistic differences as blood or species. She had been on the receiving end of this treatment, and it was not one she wished to mete out to anyone else. Even beyond that, she had discovered there were similarities between herself and this Yuki canine. The hybrid understood the other woman to some extent—her brother had abandoned her just as Kaena had abandoned Eris. Different family, different victim, same shit.

At the other canine's words, Eris tilted her head quizzically, a look of confusion on her face. “Not worth saving?” she asked, honestly perplexed. “He left you. Doesn't matter if you're dumber than a rock and lazy and spoiled, you're family, and...” she trailed off, shrugging her shoulders helplessly. He was supposed to love and cherish her regardless, as was Kaena—neither woman's family could blame their children. They had been the ones to leave and run away. “I guess it would just be nice if family could accept you no matter what,” the sable-shaded woman finished, shrugging once more. Of course, there was a whole bucket of reasons why Eris was the outcast—her paternity was one of them, but of course, she was not entirely without fault. Of course, such a thing was impossible for the Equites herself to admit.

"Strange. I've never thought of myself as dumb or spoiled." The thin white lines above her eyes raised in fake surprise. She was keeping count on how many times the woman rolled her shoulders. It seemed to her the motion was supposed to show unsureness, but if that was true then the female was as distrustful as Yuki herself. She couldn't quite wrap her head around why she would be unsure, after all the girl was probably bigger and older then Yuki, but with the dark fur covering the inky coated figure it was hard to determine an exact age.

She couldn't help but be in astonishment of the woman's body. Even if she seemed to not like humans, her body reminded Yuki of one. The way the girl could bend both her legs and arms amazed her, "All the things you could do," she thought to herself. She had heard of some beings being able to 'shift' into this thing, she had also heard that it was possible for her to 'become' one. But none of the methods to accomplish this seemed very easy, or realistic. She took her time as she answered the female, "No, you cannot pick your family, so you never know what you'll get. But you can pick your friends, and if luck is on your side they will be loyal."

Eris was hardly one to care that she had insulted someone, but she honestly had not intended to project her own shortcomings onto this loner. This was perhaps the closest thing she had to friendship and an actual conversation since she had first met Snake—she did not want to ruin her chances at friendship if they were still present here. “No. If you were,” she said. “I guess my family thinks I'm good-for-nothing, so sorry if I put that on you,” the shadowy hybrid said. Though the apology sounded insincere, certainly not heartfelt and deep, the mere existence of it was a step forward for the shaded canine—she very, very rarely apologized.

At Yuki's next words, the coyote woman grew uncomfortable. She did not know how to make friends—she had everything she needed in Eterne. Her uncles and her aunt had been her friends; if she had desired company, she could have simply requested it, and regardless of whether or not the company in question actually liked her or hated her guts, for her power and presence they were required to befriend her. Eris had long realized this was not true friendship, but it did nothing to change the fact that she simply did not know how to make friends. As much as she projected spiteful and hateful, there was indeed a deep, hidden core within her, one crafted of pure loneliness and utter isolation from the entire rest of the world. She protected this part of herself viciously, refusing to reveal her very real weaknesses to anyone.

“Friends can be hard to come by,” the Infernian said softly, the closest she would come to admitting her own shoftcomings.

The woman didn't seem to be a big fan of apologies, but Yuki couldn't hold it against her since she had been the one to have gotten upset so easily. This conversation seemed as slippery and thin as black ice, and the woman didn't look as if she wanted to fall though. She wasn't a very good fighter, but if she was to lunge at the girl's neck, she could definately leave a scar.

Blood wasn't some thing she would enjoy having on her paws, especially if she let it seep into the soil afterwards. She had learned she didn't particularly like the smell of the crimson nector of her own kind, though from most animals it was as sweet as could be. "Nothing like the rush of warm blood sliding down your throat.." She said to herself; to the bi-eyed female, it was true.

"I was kidding." She said, a hint of a smile heard in her voice as she spoke. "Does it hurt when you shift, I mean, like..." She paused and raised her head, "Change. Does it hurt you?" She hardly guessed that it might be a relief, like stretching after a long nap. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to. Its just a question." She was eager to change the subject, but didn't really want to take the risk of making the woman feel uncomfortable after her gestures already classified her as unsure.
