Life's changes
#1
Aro had been becoming a little withdrawn as he began to think differently about the world around him. Every-so-often his voice would crack when he was talking or yelling and he didn't understand it. His voice was no longer sounding as childish anymore and in a way he was confused by it. It was a welcoming change, but at the same time the crackling embarrassed him. He was becoming a little more quiet and in doing so withdrawing himself from family some. He hadn't been sulking just becoming more independent than what he already was. Practicing his hunting and trying to learn how to fight attacking plants and rocks and at times leaves. It was nothing advanced, just pouncing and biting and shredding. At times he would play with his food when he caught it. He found deer were more skittish than he would have thought, they were harder to stalk than rabbits. Let alone, they were like rabbits when they ran, just bigger making them gain more distance faster. It was infuriating to him. He was almost beginning to doubt he would ever live up to his father's paw prints. Though, he would tell himself over and over he would. Nothing was going to stop him, nothing was going to stand in his way. He was a Marino!

Today he had come to the beach where he could think about his skills and how much more he needed to do in order to show his father and Mother just how strong and good he was and to prove his worth to the pack. He almost felt weak being that he wasn't sure how to shift yet, he wondered when he was going to be able to do that. In a way he almost wished he was still a puppy because it seemed time was not fast enough for him, he was a head of his time. It was almost worth complaining about. Time was too slow, he should be able to fight and shift and go out and show Crimson what he was worth, but alas time couldn't catch up to him.

The sound of the ocean resonated around him, and it almost settled his troubled mind as he watched the waves go back and forth, and the sound that came with it. Mesmerizing was what he was thinking as he sat there tail wrapped around his paws. He was coming into an awkward stage in his life where he was lanky and seemed to be getting taller and longer but without gaining weight to compensate for it. Puberty. He was now slowly becoming an adult and was on his first stage into doing so. So many new curiosities were gripping his mind and new more adult like thoughts and urges were crossing his mind, but he was afraid of them, pushing them out of his mind and trying to focus on what was to him, more important things, like hunting and fighting. He had seen many members with battle scars and he knew that one day he would be in that situation, and most likely in order to save another.

Jaz-man

WC: 500+

It was scary watching the pups grow into adults. It seemed like just yesterday they were running around causing trouble one second and the next hanging on every word that came out of his mouth. With Sophia it wasn't so bad, he couldn't relate to her in any way. Jazper left Ghita to explaining things to the orange coated girl. Besides Sophia was so talkative and rebellious at times, much like her mother. The two girls always seemed to have to prove themselves through being stubbornly independent. Aro and Jazper were much more a like in the fact that, even their childhoods were very different, they both had a respect and longing to be like their father.

It had become apparent to the young father that his boy wanted to be a soldier, a fighter, a protector much like himself when Aro was only a few months old. Even back then he was always running around the house pretending to be a giant warrior protecting the manor from the invasion of mice in the winter. Jazper had assumed he would grow out of it but here he still was running into forests and fighting imaginary beasts. His mind was full of imagination and creativity, a thing most boys lost as they started this very important part of their life. The important part being puberty. When the coal warrior had his this stage of his life all he wanted was to shift and after that he had hated his adoptive father for cheating on his mother and rebelled with drinking and trying to prove he was so much more then the man before him. Even when he was little he wanted to prove that he would grow up to be the man his dead father was, not the man his adoptive father had become.

It was about time he approached his son about the changes he was going through. They were so similar that the Knight worried Aro would rebel after he shifted, the same way he had. Walking out of the Manor he followed his sons scent down to the beach walking with purpose. It didn't take the giant long with his large steps to catch sight of the tuxedo colored boy staring into the ocean. With a sigh Jazper shifted down to his halfling form while still hidden by the forest. Walking into the sunshine with four large paws the black bear like figure took a seat beside his boy.

To see the two it was obvious of their relation. Although Aro was just entering his adult years his continuous growth spurt made him as large as a fair sized fully grown adult of a few years. He had obviously inherited his fathers appearance with matching black lined across his back and over sized paws still left to grow into. There was no telling if Aro would match his father for every foot when he was full grown. Still the teenager was lanky and still had to grow into his paws, which seemed to keep growing along side him, while Jazper was broad and had fully developed muscles and a thick chest making for a intimidating sight. Following Aro's turquoise eyes the warrior looked out into the sea with his golden orbs and smiled, “So, what's on your mind?”

He had hoped his sister didn't catch wind of his activity in the night, and also he hoped his mom hadn't shared the attack of the trees. So far he hadn't heard a thing about it, but still he was itching to prove he could protect and be a champion, a strong male just like his father. As he thought about his dad, he came to his side and his eyes widened as he glanced over. He didn't want to admit that he was so lost in thought he wasn't paying attention to his surroundings and his father's voice startled him. It took him a moment to process the question then he looked away as trying to be 'cool'. "Just enjoying the beach.." He licked his lips a little nervous, but he was trying to hide it. His eyes look over slightly wide eyed, "..what are you up to?" He said his voice cracking lightly as it was still trying to change. He took in a deep breath before he looked back to the ocean. The tuxedo boy was trying to sit proudly and strong in front of his ebony father trying to show he was a big boy, he was strong. He was kind of hoping his father would show him something cool, something that would show just how strong he was. Maybe his dad would show him how to shift so he could look as strong and dangerous as he did in his halfling form.

He began to think about girls, he almost hoped he could meet once that weren't his relatives. Inside he was curious about females, he wanted to impress them too. He wanted to explore more perhaps explore out of the packland, but he was almost afraid to leave. He was protected in here, he knew that but at the same time he wanted to prove he could be strong and keep himself safe, and others. The silence between his father and him was almost awkward and he made a slight cough trying to fill that void then he began to say something, "...um..." He almost winced at how painfully stupid that was. With a big sigh he faced his father, the one he held so high and was nearly afraid of for no real reason other than he was his idol, "..can you show--" He choked and he looked down ears back feeling really stupid now and deciding to just shut up. His face was red and he was embarrassed, really embarrassed now. He almost wanted to run away and go hide but he didn't his legs were planted like glue he was so scared. He can take on monsters but he can't take on his dad, how lame.

Daawww Father Son moments <3

WC: 500+

Looking out at the ocean the father wasn't sure what he was doing, let alone how to approach it. Aro looked up to him in such a way he could have only dreamed his son would but with all this respect came a lot of pressure to say and do the right thing. Since the pups were born Jazper hadn't taken a step out of line. His routine consisted of doing laps around the boarder every early morning, mid day, and night fall. Reading in the library and playing his violin naturally found their way into his days along with the odd trip to Halifax but never had he touched a bottle of alcohol around the pups, or shown them his collection of weapons, or read them a story without a happy ending. He had been determined up till now to keep them his little angels. Now, as he looked at Aro, it was obvious that he had to prepare them for adult life. The violence, the sex, the possible dangers around every corner. The skeletons of wolf reality he had been trying to keep from them for so long.

As his son shifted into an 'at attention' position a smile spread across the warriors lips. His boy was certainly grown. One day, very soon, he would be a proper Knight, a loving warrior and it was his job to expose him to the world without ruining his caring spirit. “I just thought that it was time for another one of our heart to hearts.” His voice was calm and gentle, he never had a problem keeping a calm and under control exterior these days but he had plenty of practice. The father and son hardly had serious talks. Usually they talked about fighting and hunting and training in a light but education based way. They had fun learning and growing as father and son. Today it was time for another serious talk though. It was time Jazper told the boy that it was okay not to do the right thing all the time, a lesson he didn't really want to teach.

His sons half questions caught his attention and brought him back to reality. Golden orbs looked away form the water and to his tuxedo coated boy. “Mhm?” He encouraged, “What do you want me to show you?” He was eager to start talking to Aro about anything as long as the conversation started. It was the starting of conversation that Jazper had always failed to make a strength of his. Chatting away answering questions or asking questions sure, but finding a topic to question or answer was the problem. All he wanted was for his boy to take advantage of his knowledge and skills, to learn everything he could and have a healthy respect for others and himself. He wanted him to have a father figure he could look to for answers, the father he never had. Lucifer had raised him the other half of his childhood but his birth father had taught him the lessons he would never forget. Lucifer just taught him not to end up a drunken loser like him.

I'm so sorry for the wait. My muse was blargh and no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get anything Sad I hope this doesn't suck too bad.

It wasn't often Aro had heart to heart chats with his old man, and Aro certainly didn't think of his father as old--but that was what father's were called, right? Either way, it wasn't often they talked but when they did Aro drank every lesson and every word up like it meant the world to him. When his father prodded for the words he choked on he nearly sunk into himself but quickly realized just how stupid he looked to the one he was trying hard to impress. He shook his head trying to get a grip on himself. Drawing in a brave breath he sat up straight, swallowed hard, opened his eyes and looked into the orbs of his father's. His sky blue eyes locked, "I was wanting to know how to shift...and not only that, I want to know everything there is to know...like I want to know how to fight right, and--well..umm other things.." His eyes averted not wanting to say anything about females or sex or anything else..the shifting and the fighting were the most important things..for now. I mean he could figure out the rest on his own, right?

The young tuxedo boy looked fully away from his idol, his role model, his father. Gaze fell to the sand, slowly rising to the ocean. Silence seemed to fall, an awkward drawn out silence, or was it his imagination? Most likely, Aro's mind was restless and wild. Curious about so many things, and creative and finding his own opinions and thoughts. He had self taught himself several things, and one thing was certain, the master was next to him, surely able to fill in the gaps and better him along the way. Jazper was the best in his eyes, and no one could bring down his dad, that was for sure.

Jazper’s childhood had been a complicated one to say the least. His father-son relationship had been strained with Lucifer but he had been all he had as a father figure. In reality the strongest values and the fluffy goody two shoes lessons had come from his birth father Ares. He doubted he would have been taught about sex, drugs, alcohol and what a bad relationship looked like if he had been lucky enough to live with his parents into his teenage years. It had been Lucifer that taught him about the rough side of life and exposed him to the harshness of the real world. A world he had been protecting his son and daughter from all year and now was about to shatter.

Giving his son his full attention he nodded along. Shifting couldn’t quite be learned but shown and worked towards until your body was ready. He could easily tell the boy what it felt like and see if he would have the same luck Ghita had. “Shifting is all about feel boy. Think about how it would feel and what you would possibly look like. It’s hard to teach someone past trying. If you try and think hard eventually your body will change with your thoughts.” Shifting his large paws he looked down with a smile as he noticed his son’s paws were nearing his own in size. “Fighting we can work on every day if need be. Once you shift we have a lot of work to do to get you use to fighting in all three forms and with weapons. There’s knives, swords, axes, daggers, whips, staves. We’ll have to work for at least a few months before you can work on things on your own.”

Pausing for a second he considered what the ‘other things’ could be. Given Aro’s expression the topics of choice seemed to line up with the conversation he had come here with the intention of having. “Aro I erm..” Clearing his throat he looked nervously out to the water, “I want to talk to you about something my dad talked to me about when I was about your age. You see when wolves start shifting they start having...feelings..for the opposite sex.” His cheeks grew hot under his ebony fur but he kept talking as though he wasn’t fazed at all, “When the time comes that you start looking at females you should do so with respect and care. Always be as tender as you can because no female will want an arrogant ass pushing them around.” The last part was perhaps not as graceful as it should be but a hint of Lucifer’s rough around the edges vibe had rubbed off on his parenting style. “When I was younger I met a couple of girls myself and not a single one of those relationships worked out until I found your mother. The world will give you someone meant for you, son, and when you find her you better be ready to show her how much you care or you might just loose her.” Looking back to his boy in all seriousness he waited to judge his reaction and stop for questions before he moved onto the other topic of choice.

The boy was like a sponge absorbing his father's words like they were gold. His ears were in full attention his eyes fixated now on his father. So shifting was mind over body, he thought and smiled, I'll master it quickly to show dad just how good I am! a bigger smile came. Then when his father went into combat his tail couldn't hide his enthusiasm. He would have to master shifting so him and his dad could spar. His eyes lite up like the night sky when the moon was out, and he thought this conversation was going to be hard, his dad was doing all the talking. It was just then that the conversation took another turn, and he could see the tension in his dad's face Aro himself became more intense, his smile disappearing and seriousness came into his eyes. Feelings...more like odd urges..but whatever.. He wouldn't say what came to his mind, he didn't want to interrupt his dad's speech. If there was one thing Aro wasn't good at was keeping his trap shut, but more than ever his facial expressions gave most of his thoughts away as his brows lowered at parts he didn't quite understand, more so understand what his dad was trying to say, though grasped the direction. His dad was going in the right direction but then somehow went into something about mateship.

Aro wasn't ready for mateship, he hadn't even thought about mateship. He thought about females and the alluring scents they got at times. Some smelled better than others, but still Aro hadn't find another female worth talking to, or trying to get to know. It was like they overlooked him or he overlooked them. Though at times when he saw a female that was more of a natural female, meaning they didn't wear any clothing..which was most, he couldn't help but find his eyes wondering to parts of their body he normally didn't pay much attention to. "..well I don't wanna sound..umm like an ...arrogant ass.." His ears went back when he repeated his dad's phrase, "..but, I don't wanna settle down with anyone...is it wrong to just want to explore females..?" He didn't quite realize how much of an innuendo the word explore sounded when applied to the word female, but it was how he said it and he wasn't going to take it back as his ears stayed back and his eyes gave him that innocent puppy eyed look he got at times, well most of the time.

A couple more posts each to wrap this up so we can start our 'big brother' thread in a couple weeks?

WC: 500+

So far so good. The ebony male was almost proud of himself for getting this far into the conversation. Aro was listening and he kept talking with some sort of knowledge. A smile spread across his face as he stared out at the ocean a sense of peace over coming him. Who knew that a pup raised with such a shaky past could have come so far. Sitting here with his son reminded him of when his father was still alive, and those couple of nights he had spent with Lucifer on hunts. He remembered looking up to the father figures of his past with large golden hope filled eyes. Just wishing he could turn out to be such a warrior or a hunter as his fathers. Always listening with ears large and eyes wide awaiting the day he would grow up and be just like his dads. In reality that never happened. He had turned out to be exactly the way the divine had wanted him to and nothing he could have done would change that.

Seeing his sons face change slightly, the same questioning look he use to get when his mind would start spinning in circles full of questions and things he wanted to say but wasn't sure he should. Relaxing the Knight tried his best to show in his posture that he was calm and open to any questions. However, he hadn't been expecting the words he heard. Shock landed quickly and blatantly on the fathers face. The wording, though he didn't know it wasn't meant the way it sounded, had caught him off guard. Trying to recover from his sudden shock he coughed trying to cover up the reaction he knew he son wouldn't accept kindly.

“Well Aro..” Clearing his throat once more he looked at the boy with some confusion on his face, “It's okay at your age to be friendly with more than just one female. To get to know how different girls act and such.” He wasn't sure if he was saying what he was suppose to. Maybe he wasn't cut out to be a father? “When I was your age I rather enjoyed getting to know different girls. Just if you really like one make sure you treat her well. You don't have to rush into a mateship. Heck I didn't find your mother until about a year ago.” Shifting his paws in the sand he looked down, “What I'm trying to say is it's okay to get to know a bunch of girls but when you find someone special treat them the way you feel.” Bringing his golden orbs back to meet Aro's eyes he added, “Am I making sense at all?” Jazper had never been the best at these sorts of conversations and it didn't look like he was about to get any better. All he could hope was that his son would treat females the way he treated Ghita. A certain tenderness and honesty was always essential in making a relationship work.

yup yup ^^

His eyes watched seeing a slightly stumble in his father making his ears go back wondering if he did something wrong, but soon his father perked up and went into answering his question. At first he wasn't sure what he was saying, but then he understood and a smile formed on him. Now he didn't feel too nervous knowing he didn't have to settle for the first female that caught his interest. Relationships with the opposite sex was somewhat scary to him and he wanted to get to know females first before he found one he wanted to be in a mateship with. As his father wrapped it him a slight smirk came to him again. He knew what his father met and he understood mateships, but now he wanted to pester his dad a little feeling a little ornery. Laying down he folded his paws some, he wanted his dad to clarify something, "So...what you're saying is, it's okay to have multiple relationships with females, but when I find the one I really like be much nicer to her while treating the other females that I just like with a lesser kindness?" A slight playful look came to his features.

There was a good chance he'd upset his dad, but he was being ornery and couldn't help but want to tease his already nervous father. He needed to lighten the tension and this was the only way he figured to do it, but there was a chance he may make more tension to the conversation. His tail wagged behind him as he kept up that silly grin hoping his dad would catch him just being silly about it.

Last post for you and then I'll start the big bro thread?

WC: 300+

Relationships were something that Jazper had never been especially good at. In fact if you had a look at his track record you'd see a coyote who had a miscarriage and ran off and a gay male that had attached himself to Jazper in a fling. He had never told Ghita about his past relationships and he never pried into her past relationship. All he knew was the guy was an asshole to her and ended up leaving her. Yet here he was, son awaiting some sort of secret to love or just to sex. How was he suppose to talk about these things with him? He couldn't even talk to Ghita about their pasts and Aro wanted him to talk about females.

It was hard to explain the the boy that there was an expecting level of restraint and grace needed in these delicate situations. Obviously Aro wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings but you never knew what stupid things a young adult would do in the name of supposed love. All Jazper wanted for his boy, and he was sure Ghita would agree, was a happy life and a family of his own. It had taken this long for the warrior to get his own family but who knew what the future held for his large son. Perhaps he would move away and join a different pack or maybe he would have a humble start to a family, like the Knight had, in the lands of Crimson Dreams.

The words that escaped from his sons mouth shocked the father until he caught the playful glimpse from the boy. “Well I dare you to treat a girl with less than impeccable kindness and have to deal with your own natural consequences.” The same glint in his amber eyes. Every male on the planet knew not to mess with a female. Hell even pups knew to listen to the female of the family. If you didn't do what your girl wanted you ended up sleeping alone. “Anyways, just enjoy yourself but don't break too many hearts alright?” Standing up he motioned towards the mansion, “Bout time I got heading back I suppose.” He enjoyed talking to Aro but he knew Ghita would be waiting for him to come home before the went for a hunt. The fresh meat was always the best.

Sure ^^ ...very sorry it's crappy..just really didn't know what to have him do or say now XD Lol

The look on his father's face was priceless. He had hoped to take him by surprise. The glimmer of humor never leaving his eyes, he listened to his father's words, "Of course, I wouldn't treat another wrongly. I feel you should treat others the way you would want to be treated...I think I got that from you and mom.." He gave a warm smile to his idol then he stood up shaking off his thickening coat that was quickly becoming a more thick double coated adult coat. He nodded to the all black male giving a slight laugh, "I'll do my best to not leave a trail of hearts..." In all reality, he doubted he'd be a heart breaker, however, he might break hearts without knowing it, how would he know if he did or not. He surely wouldn't do it on purpose, but he was becoming increasingly curious.

His eyes lifted from the sandy shore and gave another smile, "..alright..I'll see you at home later, I'm sure." He watched his idol depart before looking back to the water. He wondered what it would be like to see a female his age. He didn't know many wolves or even dogs his age. He wanted to socialize more with other 'pups'.
