WC: 445(3 Points) OOC: OK I understand there are other and newer people in this pack, and there’s quite a few newbs, a pack hunt can go in any direction, I don’t mind what happens, just as long as we get there without scaring the herd mmmm k? making it to the herd would be great and Niro doesnot have to swipe at heads Tongue I had a thread posted in RR section letting people know about the thread, but it is open to all, just remember the more people there are, the longer it will take, but Niro is planning on getting hurt, sooo let’s keep it that way, ^^ he needs an ego shot hahahaha EDIT: it seems that the time for mine is like 2 hours slooow, so post dated August 5 2010, kk!!!

Posting order: Niro Mars, Anann, Anatoliy, Rurik

Today Niro had a plan, a rather good one too something that would take his mind off the mistakes he’d made… well maybe two, but he wasn’t so sure about one of them. After things happened with Liliya, he got confused, especially after she left. She was so happy... she never told him to stop. But today he wasn’t going to dwell on it. He was going to hunt and since he was the huntsman of the pack he’d start the hunt song as soon as he could. He’d seen moose only a few days back, and learning that even though they were dangerous with enough wolves they could take at least one down. And if that happened, well there would be a wonderful feast there and they would be able to eat well for a while, even have winter stock just in case. Also he was sure that since it was a planned hunt anyone with tools to use on the moose once they had killed it, were welcome to skin, or use what they needed of it. Niro needed no skins at the moment, although he was low on his own dried meat.

He was standing in his Luperci form near the hotel, just like last time, but this time he had Tobias with him. The bird looked anxious, he could feel the excitement coming off of Niro. The recent events didn’t seem to show through as Niro thought they would. It was the perfect distraction he needed. The wolf let out his hunt song for the whole pack to hear. This would be a spectacular hunt, one where tactics were needed, to separate a herd from one of its kind, to take down the mother of all hooved beasts. All with the help of one little bird. He knew all Tobias could do for them was track the moose, but that meant less searching and more hunting. He stood with Tobias on his arm waiting for others to come. Hopefully there would be a good turn out because with last time’s pack hunt… they wouldn’t be able to take down a full grown moose. Niro was even more excited, he would be finally putting his falconry to use. Marahute, who was normally on his shoulder was in his room, with ruffled feathers and a murderous look. He told her he’d make it up to her, but he knew she’d be in the way. He explained to her he needed to use Tobias to track down the moose… in return he got a cold shoulder and a few murmurs of what she thought should happen to Tobias… well that’s what he thought anyway

ooc murr: it's awkward for him meeting niro, but then again, he's awkward in general. He does know Orin though. <3 +5

The husky hybrid had been pulling things from one place to the next in his secui form all morning, his tri-colored beastly form stuck inside of a leather harness that his mother had made for him way back when he was with her. It was one of the few things that he kept from his days with his mother, and the only reason he kept it was because there weren't many harnesses that would fit his large body and harnesses in general were very hard to find, they weren't hard to make, but the last time he tried to make himself a harness, he just couldn't get the measurements to be right to where he wouldn't be choking himself, or putting too much stress on one side of the harness and all that great, complicated things that came with the making of one when he had his own one already made by his slave driver of a mother. He took a deep breath to keep from the reoccuring memories of the beatings came into his mind and made him uncomfortable being who he was, and he was Mars right now. He didn't want Bartholomew to come around. Bartholomew was a slacker that would do things but do them differently and sometimes out of style. The bright red dog harness that had been hugging his body had been form fitted and in a slightly battered condition, but it still got the job done when he was pulling the small sleds of log and other supplies that he needed for his house in Lunenberg.

The tri-colored being would be on his way back to Lunenberg when he had been caught between a howl for company on a hunt, and finishing his duties that he was supposed to be doing. His stomach would be the answer of the question of weither to join his pack for a hunt or to go on his way. His stomach, as if on cue, had rumbled loudly, and then Mars would have to think back to when he had a meal. He'd probably forgotten between shifting from Bartholomew back into Mars and vice versa. The beast would turn towards the howl, which came from the east. His tongue hung from his large maw as he had ran hard towards the howl, the wheeled sled being pulled behind him as he pulled it along with him. A few minutes of running and he would come upon the hotel that he was told that the healer lives. He cocked an ear at the male he saw sitting outside of the hotel, a bird on his hand. The secui male looked back at the sled for a second before he would unhook himself with his teeth and then move towards the younger male. Tri-colored tail was tucked down, the tip curling slightly because of his husky ancestry. He held his head tall on his broad secui shoulders though, and his mismatched ears were positioned with one towards the silver male and one pulled back lightly. Maybe I could be of use? the calm tone was in a questioning flavor that was tipped from the Californian tongue.

My name is Mars Russo. the words weren't too quick to follow, but he did offer his name none the less to the stranger.

J, I is assuming here that Anann will learn that Mars' name is Mars and not Bart in our thread at some point. xD

After the last hunt, Anann had made a few alterations to the sheath that housed her knife. Having found that it had been rather annoying to skin their last kill with nothing more than what nature provided. Because of it, there and been some unnecessary blemishes in the her last skinning job and it was not a embarrassment she wished to repeat. It had only been a matter of punching a new hole in the leather strap so that she could properly fit it to her secui leg. So when her ears caught the sound of Niro's call there was little she had to do before making her way to the hotel. A pull of the strap and setting the buckle in the correct hole, she made the effortless change to her Halfling form. The hotel was not far and she made the trip at an easy loop.

She had not been the quickest to arrive at the scene, though she recognized the tri-colored wolf dog and of coarse, Niro. Hello Niro, Mars. She said, giving each a nod as she spoke their names. Niro was in the form Anann almost always saw him in thought the bird perched on his shoulder was not the large eagle she had expected to see at first. Of coarse, this was a hunt and Marahute was still quite young for such things. So it only made since that the falconer would have the red tail with him.

The red harness on the other, caught her attention and she gave it a bit of an odd look. Though she often used Rem for any pull she needed done, she had also pulled a sled herself when the need arise. But sure he wouldn't want to hunt in it, would he? Would you like help out of your harness before we hunt? It would be little strain for her shift again, besides Niro still had hands for the time being.

Word Count :: 338

An eerie quiet had settled over the silver-shaded werewolf's home. Liliya was gone; she had departed some days before, leaving only a brief note for her father and brothers. There was no mention of why she had gone or how she was getting back, but if there was one thing Rurik trusted, it was his daughter's ability to navigate the world. She had become adept at it in the past few months without so much as an escort—she had learned how to hunt for herself, how to protect herself, everything. Rurik knew he must not worry over her.

The sound of a call drew the werewolf's attention, and he figured this was just the sort of thing to keep his mind occupied—he did not need to think over Liliya and the long journey home she had ahead of her, if that was even where she was headed. Rurik would not have been surprised if he learned his daughter ended up somewhere else entirely; the wanderlust ran in their blood just as certainly as their blue eyes. As he made his way toward the mansion, familiar scents entered his nose—Mars was there, as was Anann. The possibility of seeing his son once again and bonding with him over such an activity excited him. Anann was also a good presence to have—Rurik had seen with his own eyes just how strong and adept she was with her hands during the cabin-raising, and he would appreciate the chance to work with her once more.

He put on his largest smile was he wandered over to the canines, having no idea the primary cause for Liliya's departure was amongst them. “Allo, all,” he said, placing one hand on his hip, the other digging for a cigarette. “Ve vill hunt today, ja?” he asked, smiling in Mars's direction and offering him a cigarette as the first time they had met. Rurik was not the sort of father to discourage bad habits in his children, fortunately or unfortunately for them.

WC: 543(5 Points) OOC: If you want to come in, please do so within these next posts guys, once we start the hunt there’s no turning back

The first to come was a stranger, one wolf he had yet to meet, but he was glad that someone had come. This wolf had interesting colors of black white and brown. What was rather strange was the harness he had around his body, Niro wasn’t sure what it was, and was quite curious about it, he tilted his head a little but didn’t ask, he smiled broadly at the new wolf who named himself Mars. What an interesting name. And yet another Russo too! He was surprised at the thought, well it was all good. He liked every Russo he’d met so far he might just like Mars as well.

It is a pleasure to meet you! My name is Niro Takekuro, and yes help would be lovely. We need all the help we can get I’m sure.

He said, as he spoke he saw Anann, a very familiar face and one he was glad to see. It was her, that found the doe that they had taken down in their last pack hunt. He was glad to see her, he knew she was an able bodied hunter. He gave a rather happy grin her way.

Hi Anann, I hope you are ready for something big, hopefully we’ll have more than just doe if we get enough wolves to join.

Niro said excitedly, he’d thought about what they would do if they didn’t have enough for a Moose, or even an Elk. Hopefully, though there would be a good turn out. He knew they only needed at the least one more for an elk, and he came ambling up. The older Russo, the father of Liliya, a face he didn’t expect to see so soon after she’d left, he gave him a worried look, not sure if he blamed Niro as he blamed himself for what happened. Niro gave a slight smile when the only thing the dark grey wolf asked was about hunting. He nodded.

Hello Rurik, yes hopefully a moose if we are lucky enough for more to come.

He said, but as he waited he knew that there wasn’t going to be anyone, stragglers might come, but other than that he knew it wasn’t worth waiting. Niro sighed sadly but thought, there was still going to be a hunt.

I don’t think four will be enough for a moose, not even if we all can change half way.

He said, he’d never thought of hunting two legged at least some of the veterans who might actually know

Unless someone has an idea we’ll just have to go for the next best thing.

He said his voice somber, but he was still excited. Hunting was a big thing and Elk were nearly as big as moose, just not so dangerous.

Tobias is going on his first hunt too, and well I do hope he doesn’t try to attack the elk like he does the rabbits. He’s to track the animals for us so we don’t have to.

he explained, he hoped his months of training would pay off, this was a big test for the bird who was on his arm moving his head every way to see all ove the newcomers that came at the howl of the wolf.

OOC: You assumed right. +5

The silver man would tell Mars his name, which ended up being Niro Takekuro. The tri-colored beast cocked his head in curiosity of the name, finding it odd, and very close to another name that he knew. Orin Takekuro had been a little pink haired woman that had came onto his porch one day and tried to touch his guitar, and then he ended up going with her through Lunenberg and finding some awesome costumes and they played a little bit of a game. It's a pleasure Mr. Niro. Mars spoke, even though the kid was obviously younger than he. Think polite thoughts Mars, and you'll be good. The wolfdog would have his attention drawn away from Niro when the golden woman, Annan showed up. Mars took a step back, and his mismatched ears had fallen back on his head. He felt shy again, his maw pointed to the ground, and his eyes shied away from Annan and Niro. Annan would greet him though, and he would nod lightly. Good afternoon Annan. the man would calmly let the words pass his lips. He was embarrassed that he now had someone who knew him see him without clothes on. He felt self conscious now that he wasn't minding his own business and working on what he was working on. His mother was the one who had instilled this fear in his mind that he was an ugly monster that needed to hide under clothing. He always did wear clothes and he felt secure in them, or at least as secure as he could.

The wolf dog held his curled tail low, to where it was completely relaxed, but his flighty stance that he held in his large form spoke of his nervousness at the moment, even if his tail was relaxed. The woman would ask him if he wanted help out of his harness. The man had immediately shot up and shook his head shyly. No, thank you Ms.Annan. the quietly declined when his father would walk over. Mismatched ears would stand up on his head, as he looked over to his dad. He gave a smile to Rurik as his father would greet the group and then dig for a cigarette in his pocket. Rurik would offer one to Mars as well, which would be accepted, so he reached up and grabbed the cigarette butt with his mouth and then he pointed it at his dad. Peese? mumbled from between his lips to ask his father to light it and when he did, he inhaled lightly and let the smoke come from his nose. He'd sit down where he was, next to his father and he'd look to the mohawked boy. Niro would speak about how four wouldn't be enough to take down moose, so they would have to settle for elk. Mars could do Elk. Mars had gotten a doe down before (though he was weird about killing larger animals because he thought that one day he might loose control and attack Vox on accident) but if it meant eating good and spending time with his dad, then so be it.

Mars would look at the bird, a red tailed hawk. He said nothing about the bird or the hunt at the moment, deciding to be silent and to smoke his cancer stick.

I am so sorry to have kept this held up so long x{ please forgive me!

The large female sat back on her haunches next to the two males. She had seen Niro the day before at her cabin and so she had been expecting today's hunt, though there was no way of knowing who else might show up. She frowned just slightly as it seemed her presence made Mars uncomfortable. She wished it weren't the case but she didn't really know what she could do to change it. Niro was just as chatted as ever though, bringing a smile back to Anann's face. There past hunt had been successful and one of Anann's first attempts at hunting in a group. Though they had only been rewarded with an average sized doe, something Anann was capable of taking down on her own thought not nearly as easily as it had been for the group of four."I'm always up for a bit of a challenge", she said. She figured it must mean they would be after elk or moose. Since that was their options over the deer breeds that were available to them.

Rurik showed up moments behind Anann. She looked behind him half expecting to see Toliy or Liliya following behind him. Mars declined removing his harness. Anann gave only a nod resisting the urge to tell him that there was no need to call her ms. "Good to see you again, Rurik. How's Anatoliy?" She hadn't seen him much the last few days but he was never far from her thoughts.

It seemed once again there would only be four to their hunting party, though it should be enough for an elk, at least. Moose would be a bit more difficult. Anann had already witnessed how aggressive one could be and while she had been able to turn the charging bull she doubted one would easily be taken down. "Tobias is going to be our eyes in the sky then?" She was quite interested seeing the bird in action

300+ My goodness I'm awful

Liliya was gone, and she left in her departure a sadness in her brother. Anatoliy felt like something had happened to her that would cause her to flee from her family without more than that meager note. Once, the four of them had been close siblings, but it seemed once they had all parted ways and their other sister passed away, their closeness started to break down. If Toliy had abandoned his mother to go with Silas and Liliya to this land in the first place, he was sure that he would have earned more words from her than he had gotten. What had happened to her? One night she disappeared, not something uncommon for them or her siblings, and then she returned, nothing mentioned. And then, she was gone completely.

The call for the hunt snapped him out of his reverie; Anatoliy had been busy thinking. His mind returned to the now and his eyes shifted toward the direction of the caller. Rolling his shoulders, the Russo rose from his seat by the stream, the gurgle of it passing over the rocks reaching his ears once more. He had to get moving, get active. He wanted to help his sister through her journey wherever, but she never gave him a chance. Though, the Russian was not all that sure he would have gone with her, not with all he had here. Anann came to his mind almost instantly, and he smiled, knowing she would definitely be there for a hunt. Maybe it was time he stopped sulking and seek her company again, albeit more privately than now.

Just as he was coming up to the hotel, the Russo heard her voice and the question she posed. "Anatoliy is done moping around like some pup," he answered, accent heavy in his words as he came up behind the woman. He turned his head toward Niro. "I am sorry if I am late. I vas... preoccupied." Then, golden eyes moved to his father and new-found half brother. "Fazher," he greeted, smiling lightly at him, though he was not smiling at the cigarettes in their hands. It was a habit he was not remotely fond of. Sighing, he returned his attention to the golden woman. "How have you been?" he inquired softly, aware of his own feelings for the woman before him.

WC: 345 OOC: Skipping Rurik sorry lady ; ; gotta move on now

It seemed as though the gathering was complete and he was about to whistle for Tobias to search when Anatoliy came up to them, he was glad to see the male, although the last hunt reminded him that he had gone off, but when the time had come Anatoliy did his part. He nodded to the Russian, and he just wanted things to get started, so they finally had enough to make a moose hunt possible, especially if most of them were able to change to their Halfling forms. Niro whistled a long then two shorts and threw the bird in the air. Tobias, who’d been schooled over and over in the teachings flew up into the sky where he searched for the prey that Niro asked for. Niro watched anxiously, staring up into the sky, hoping the bird would do his job this time. His heart skipped a beat when Tobias started small circles and Niro turned his head to his packmates

The hunt is on, follow me.

He said, this was so much easier than actually sniffing out the prey, he knew exactly where to go as he shifted and ran straight for where the bird was circling.Niro was pleased to see a lone moose, and it was female, what luck! Nosing the grass a few hundred yards ahead of him. He looked to his companions and to Anann and Toliy he nodded to the left, his way of telling them that they would close in on that way, and to Rurik and Mars, he nodded to the right… Niro himself, would charge in, he had the confidence that the other four members would be able to trap the moose towards Niro, and he had the confidence that he had the strength to actually take her down. If he’d had his head out of the clouds though he knew that Toliy or his father Rurik would be the better of the two, both of whom were much bigger and more than likely stronger than Niro himself, but he was feeling very lucky today.
