The Knight walked heavily on all four paws, his large figure pointing north as he passed his mothers old home in the Valley. It was extremely rare that Jazper passed much further than Halifax itself. Of course when his mother was in the Valley he would visit more often but since she had left them he simply hadn't visited at all. Except the one time he figured it would be best to know who had taken leadership in the recent months. Today he walked passed the pack lands though heading even further north to territory he had never seen, never experienced, and only heard stories of. It had been long enough since the war that Jazper could now say it was safe to wander alone this far. Naturally it wasn't always going to be perfectly safe but at the least there wasn't going to be a large number of coyote's thirsty for wolf blood running around....he hoped.

Jazper was actually lucky to have survived his early years with an open mind when it came to coyotes. Lucifer and Deuce had tried oh so hard to pressure him into believing that coyote's were evil and murderous creatures, but no creature could be so bad just based on species, right? As he neared the borders of Inferni his skin crawled. So many horrible stories had been told about the coyotes that resided her. He had once believed he would be a mate with a beautiful black coyote but she had left him when she had a miscarriage. His parents had been killed by a large pack of coyotes. Still, the large brute preferred to keep an open mind. It was the individuals choice to be a twisted murderer, not the group.

Stopping suddenly a chill was sent down the warriors spine. There before him was a stick of sorts with a skull, a wolf skull. Instinct told him he shouldn't be here, not even if it was just to meet and greet. Logic, however, told him that he was here to talk and to leave, they didn't have to be on good terms but he had to know a little more about this pack. Besides Anselm had taken up residence here before and he was a good guy. Not willing to move any further, regardless of the security in his pure mass, Jazper lifted his head in a call directed towards the leader, and just the leader. He wouldn't feel safe with more than one coyote growling at him.

Sorry for the delay, I missed putting this in my post log. :[ Won't happen again!

A call from directly south of his current position drew Gabriel’s patrol to a halt. He lifted his head to the air, but the wind was against him. With a grunt, the Aquila turned and was moving again, loping towards the borders in the languid pace of a wolf. It was apparent he did not truly belong among the coyotes. Still he wore their crown and defended the land with a stubbornness that was almost madness. In a very real way, it was. Inferni alone had kept him alive—not his family, whom had either abandoned or turned against him, not his now-dead enemy, not even God. Inferni. Inferni alone was to what Gabriel owed his life.

Next to one of the sun-bleached skulls was a large black wolf. Gabriel was not intimidated by his size, but he respected it none the less. The man had a yellow mark on his face and, as the wind turned for a moment, carried the scent of Crimson Dreams. As far as Gabriel was concerned that pack and his own were neutral. They were not allies, not truly, for the most interaction he had with them was through Anu. Perhaps she had sent someone herself, unable to travel. Maybe she was hurt. His eyes darkened momentarily but there was no anger in them as he neared.

“Can I help you?” His gruff voice asked.

OOC:...Faaaiiiiilllllll....I'll forgive you if you forgive me XD

It was odd for the midnight covered male to feel the nervousness that had grabbed hold of his heart. Since he was able to shift he had been strutting around like he was the top dog thanks to genetic luck granting him the heart and body of an Alpha. His fathers bloodline was full of abnormally large warriors, possibly from generations of fighting off sick and demented dogs that preyed on the weaker members of their own species. Angel, his flawlessly snow white mother, had been average in size but had the softest voice and the biggest ears she had used for listening to little Jazper's excited chattering after Ares and himself got back from one of their many day trips. Now, standing by himself with a skull displayed oh so nicely in front of him, his heart raced with a fear he hadn't had to feel since the coyote's attacked the den. That horrible night had been the last time he saw his parents and now he was to come face to face with the only coyote pack in the area. Logically the warrior knew no one from here had taken his parents lives but the feeling wouldn't leave him no matter how hard he tried to concentrate on something else.

Looking around he raised himself as tall as he could, hoping he would feel more confident, it didn't help him. Finally in the distance a figure caught his attention and his fur began to stand on edge. However, his coat was thicker than a coyote by a long shot. Amber eyes focused in on the male as he came closer and asked the question every wolf or coyote would ask in such a situation. Giving him the once over Jazper quickly concluded that this was certainly no tiny coyote before him but a dog mix of some kind or another, leaving the Knight feeling slightly calmer. “Help, no.” If anyone needed help it was the sicko that put wolf skulls as a territory marker. How would they respond if they lined their own lands with coyote skulls?

Remembering his manners the large brute lowered his muzzle to gentle touch touch the ground in a make shift bow. “I'm Jazper Rhiannon-Knight. The wolf in charge of the protection of Crimson Dreams.” golden orbs returning to their face-to-face view he added with a forced smile, “I am acquainted with the leaders of all packs with the exception of yours and Dahlia de Mai.” Getting to his point quickly he continued right along, “I just wish to inquire some news about Inferni from the leader.” Still oblivious that the male before him was the leader he was seeking Jazper awaited to be escorted to the sick mind that stuck skulls on a stick for fun.

Yay for us!

The bloodline that had given birth to Gabriel was a muddled one. It was made up of vicious hybrids, from his mother’s side, all warriors and hellspawn themselves. His father’s wolves were themselves mad, things descended from dogs who had gone wild, things that broke in two in order to survive. Perhaps it was madness that had let the fear leave him—the fear had left when Haku had died—but Gabriel no longer feared for his own life. He feared for Inferni, and for what would come after him, but not for himself. He had no right. His path had been laid out before him by God.

Gabriel had seen the look that crossed through the wolf’s sunny colored eyes. Sizing up the Aquila, determining he was not a coyote, not a wolf, not a dog. He was a mongrel leading a clan of miscreants that had long since forgotten its place. Inferni was once strong and terrible. They were growing back to this now, only after so many had come and so many more had fallen. Yet the brute remained stoic, used to the prying eyes. Luckily the wolf was not here on ill-business and remained polite, as he should around any leader.

Eyeing Jazper (funny, his half-brother came to mind) the coy-wolf remained as unreadable as ever. “You’re lucky, then,” he began. “I am Inferni’s leader, Gabriel.” He did not offer his surname. There was no need. “The clan has recovered from the war. Haku’s death has eliminated our enemies.” Despite this, there was a lingering guard glittering in his amber eyes. If there were to be more enemies, they would be destroyed. “What news of Crimson Dreams?” What news of Anu?

The male before him didn't seem to friendly. Not hostile by any means, many a creature had been more antisocial and to the point then this hybrid. Learning that he was exactly who he was in looking for a surprised look momentary appeared on the brutes face before quickly recovering to his calm demeanor. The surprise wasn't meant to be offensive, Jazper had imagined the leader of Inferni to be more along the lines of Hybrid, a crazed coyote full of blood lust and a hate for wolves. Yet the creature before him was part wolf if he was not mistaken and had calmly addressed him without an aggressive tone.

The introduction allowed Jazper to gain a certain respect for this Gabriel. Meeting the leaders of the packs had opened the warrior's eyes to the world. While he was growing up there had never been a male as the alpha of Twilight Vale or Crimson Dreams. Three lovely ladies had ruled over the pack with grace and tender hearts. When Savina took over he had felt a need to vow himself to the alphess. So far she had never let him down as a friend or a leader. She held the calm elegance needed for talking to others and had a fiery side much like Ghita that could cause any female or male to shiver. Still, a respect was held for the larger males he had met in the past month or so who lead their neighboring packs.

The mention of Haku's name and the announcement of his death set a strange emotion inside the warrior. He had known that name only to be connected with horrible things and the father of his step sister Willow Soul. Wondering who had killed the sod he swallowing his surprise and dealt with the present question first, “Crimson Dreams is very well. We have been making all efforts to be friendly with our surrounding packs and keep our neutrality and bonds strong.” Pausing he glanced to the skull once again and back to the alpha, “We have been graced to watch my own two pups reach shifting age and they will be recognized as adults next month.” With a small smile he added, “Two new litters have been born to the pack. Two girls and a boy to my Alphess and her mate and three little boys to my second in command.” His pride showed in the way he held himself. Crimson Dreams always was full of healthy pups. Remember his previous inquiry the ebony males expression grew serious, “Who finally killed the bastard anyway?” It wasn't polite to call other wolves names, he knew this lesson well, but he'd make an acception for Haku.

Once, Inferni had been full of beings who sought nothing but the blood and slaughter of wolves. Gabriel had lived within an Inferni like that. His own mother had crushed children’s skulls while her warriors slaughtered those who did not flee fast enough. While the bloodlust had become controlled, the violence had never left the clan. They did what they needed in order to survive—this was what Gabriel had convinced himself even as he attacked strangers, even as he crushed the ribs of a crippled man, even as he killed simply because he felt the need.

So in truth, it would be lying to say much had changed. Certainly some of the coyotes had grown weak, like his half-brother, but there were those still who would obey Gabriel’s orders without question. The Hydra, his mother and her hellspawn, those who had nothing to lose but everything to prove. Inferni was not weak. Gabriel would not allow it to be.

It pleased Gabriel to hear that Crimson Dreams was once more neutral. He had nearly gone to war with its former leaders, though the white she-wolf had offered him aid and crushed this idea. Inferni had never needed to deal with the pack to the south much beyond that. His face crunched into a smile, entertained that the large male was wise enough to mention new adults (new warriors) and the growth of the presumably strong pack as it stood. Yet it was the news of the second litter that made Gabriel’s ears rise to a black crown atop his head. His eyes lit at the mention of three sons. His three sons. Realizing the slip, his face twisted into a dark mask. “I did,” he growled.

“He should have died long before this, though.”

OOC: Any plan for how long you want this thread to be ? Smile

WC:300+

The ebony male had never quite been on of those war hungry soldiers. He was a gentle knight that fought for those who couldn't fight for themselves, or those he didn't want to fight for themselves. He had never been in a bloody battle between packs though sometimes he believed he would like to experience it. Inside him was a terribly aggressive warrior who would kill another with one blow if it was his life or theirs but he rarely ever showed that side of him. On the outside he was a gentle giant always willing to teach a pup something new or lend a hand with moving heavier items. There had been a rare time in his life he had actually used his talents. Twice he had saved a pup from a monstrous wolf and once he had saved his mate from bring crushed from a fallen barn.

He honestly couldn't tell anyone who's pack Anu and Savina would support if a war broke out. Probably one of the neighboring packs. More members from Crimson Dreams traveled to visit close by then up north. It was just too much of a hassle to go all the way past Halifax to say hello. Still, he wished he knew if anyone in the pack knew a member of Inferni. As far as he was concerned noone really had a close relationship with the coyote mixes.

The surprise was clear on his face when Gabriel spoke. Here before him was the man that had ended the life of Haku. So the leader had taken out the leader like a legendary story. "How'd he go? Painfully I hope. The bloody bastard certainly deserves it after hurting so many.” He hadn't done anything to the Knight personally but he had knocked up his mother and left her to raise the child by her incapable self while he went off and started a killing spree. Nice way to bring a pup into the world. Silently he wondered how many other children he had. “So who took over Dahlia de Mai?"

Maybe they can talk about the other packs for a bit? :] Sorry I'm so slow!

The idea of nobility existing within warfare was laughable. There was no room for nobility, or doubt, or even fear. There was only room for doing what needed to be done. Gabriel had never deluded himself with noble intentions. He had killed the good as well as the evil and done so without feeling anything. This was how he had survived. In the end, God would know his own—and Gabriel was among those chosen. The Voice made him believe this, for it was the Voice that had chosen those many to die in both great fires.

Though he saw the surprise, it did not register with him. He remained a blackened gargoyle, amber eyes burning. “He was cut down like a beast,” the Aquila growled. Gabriel had burned his heart. Though the contempt left his voice, his face remained cruel. There was no love for Dahlia de Mai (or the son of such a fiend) in him. “His son, Conor. He’s young, but he and his father were at odds. They chased him out long before I killed him.”

OOC: Post is a tad short :/ <3

WC:300+

The leader of Inferni didn't seem to be much like Jazper at all yet they held two similarities: the will to fight and a hatred for Haku. A deep caring for his long time friend Anu was also a common trait between the two males, but Jazper remained blissfully unaware that Gabriel even knew Anu. It pleased the Knight to know that Haku's former pack did indeed know that he was a cruel unworthy jackass and he had no problem voicing his opinion, "Good thing too. I don't think anyone could deal with Haku being in thier pack for very long." Dahlia de Mai had been one of those packs he simply had no will to visit up till the knowledge of this new news. He always thought Inferni and Dahlia were filled with trouble and untrustworthy however, knowing that Haku's own son had chased him out when things got bad left the ebony male with a new hope for the pack. Perhaps he would have to visit this Conor one day and create some more bonds within different packs.

As of right now the warrior had a strong tendency towards sticking around Crimson Dreams. It wasn't that he was just to lazy to get his butt out of the lands and go exploring, he just was losing his wandering young soul and was growing up. He would be three years old once the leaves had all changed color and a chill came through Nova Scotia. For now he was content hanging around and meeting a member of Cour des Miracles or Aniwaya. Relaxing he attempted to find some new topic, besides Haku, to talk about with the leader of the coyotes. “What's your opinion on Aniwaya? Personally I'm not a fan of the horse riding but their leader is very hospitable.”It was always nice to hear what the leaders of packs thought of each other. He couldn't imagine someone not liking Savina, she was too kind hearted.

-still sucks-

Another grunt accompanied his opinion of Dahlia de Mai and its leadership. Still, he remained still and held his tongue. What he thought personally was not why the black wolf had come. It seemed to Gabriel that his companion’s goal was only that of information. Even the question of his opinion was one seeped in a political undertone—what Gabriel thought of a pack was what Inferni thought of a pack. He breathed in.

“I don’t usually go that far south,” he admitted. “I met the woman who formed it. My mother knows their current leader better than I do, but I’ve found no reason for quarrel with them.” He paused, as if tugging at information he knew he had. Though Gabriel did not spend much time amongst the lower ranking coyotes, he kept up on them through word of mouth and observations from afar. “One of our members has a horse,” he finally added. “I’m not sure where he got it from. We don’t see them around here—just the goats.” Idle chat was something the leader was not entirely well rehearsed at. He had become much like his Hydra, in that he spoke only when needed.

OOC: Not as much as me XD Lets put an ending on this Big Grin <3

WC:300+

Although the Mudbloods leader was a bit of a grouch in the warrior's opinion, his idea of the pack as a whole a changed from crazy and hostile to bearable. All this time Jazper had thought Mudbloods was lead by some mental coyote dead set of killing all the wolves and causing havoc within the packs. Now that he had bet the guy, he kind of reminded him of a antisocial Anselm, odd thought, even reminded him a little of Jefferson. It certainly was eye opening to meet the leaders of the pack. He had been so convinced that two female leaders was totally the norm after all, he had grown up with it. Now seeing that all the other leaders were male fighters he became more nervous about any possibilities of wars with any other pack. None of the packs were weak.

Horses and the charcoal male had never gotten along, not even from the start. His experiences with horses had been that of their energy versus his own. Anann had been the only wolf that had even come close to mending his relationship with the beasts. Chuckling a little he added his own thoughts, “Ya, living so close to them I see wolves riding horses all the time but no matter how hard I try and get use to it they still seem like a means of food, not companionship.” One unicorn could fill the stomachs of most of the pack. All of the pups and young adults at the least. “Some of the Dirty Mudbloods and Squibs members have the beasts too. A woman by the name of Anann even managed to get me up on one.” He shook his head a little ashamed of how poorly that lesson had gone. It wasn't totally horrible but in order for him to ride a unicorn it had to large itself and it just so happened that the larger the unicorn the harder it was to control.

Gabriel was certainly not the expected face of Inferni. He was, first and foremost, a half-breed—yet he did not call himself a wolf. His stance on them varied greatly. Sometimes he would be outright hostile. Other times, he would allow them great leeway. Open hostility was Inferni’s way of dealing with their enemies and preventing problems. When it came to actual combat, they fought even more ferociously then even Gabriel could imagine. This was why he no longer feared for the clan. His enemy was dead. They could handle themselves.

The coy-wolf nodded. He too, often found it hard to consider anything that wasn’t canine anything more than food. At the thought of the broad-shouldered warrior on a horse, he snorted lightly. Even watching Cotl ride his steed had persuaded Gabriel to never want to get on the things, and he couldn’t imagine anyone as large as the black wolf doing so. “Let’s hope they don’t forget how to use their paws,” he added darkly. Humans had behaved like that. This was much of the reason he had refused to allow Inferni to raise food. It made them slow and lazy.

A sharp call rose from somewhere in the Waste and Gabriel turned his head towards it. He frowned. “I need to go,” he said shortly. “I wouldn’t recommend you stick around here too long.” With the warning hanging in the air, the sable-brushed male was off.
