Black Holes and Revelations

Um I got bored and made our thread early. Nayru found Aro a very complex book, haha. 481.

Nayru did not hesitate the whole walk to Crimson Dreams, her long legs making long strides and carrying her quite quickly towards the destination. It was the middle of the night when she set out, and as planned, Nayru arrived early morning at their doorstep, book in hand and dagger strapped to her ankle with the ruby and garnet ankle, but otherwise unadorned. She wore the dagger on the inside of her ankle, knowing that although harder to access there she wouldn’t really need it and it was less notable on first glance. Although she had no plans to unsheathe the weapon from its hold, the girl, only a week or so from her adult rank, never was without it. It was a comfort to know it was there, and even if her skills had not been perfected the fairy child was no longer helpless. Something inside her had hardened, some of her innocence and naivety lost and replaced with something much colder and darker, though Nayru couldn’t explain what it was.

The patch work girl’s mind was focused on her journey, and it was only when the familiar scent of Aro and Anu filled her nostrils that she allowed herself to relax. Ever vigilant, through her journey her ears and nose had been functioning at full capacity, no sound or scent went undetected, but with the comfort of familiar ground, or at least ground familiar to friendly faces, the fey allowed herself to relax. The sun was just peaking when she came to the borders, and Nayru did not know whether Aro would have risen already or not, so she sat herself in the grass cross legged, giving the boy an hour more to awaken before she would call out for him. She had promised that she would come to visit, and Nayru always made good on promises.

While she waited, slender fingers thumbed through the book once again. The hardback was leather bound and the words gold upon its cover. “The Universe and Astrophysics.” It was about stars but other than that Nayru couldn’t make much of the book. There was a lot of nonsense about dimensions, black holes and “string theory”, but Nayru had brought the book anyway, hoping Aro could find some use for it. Although she had not told anyone that she had taken it, she doubted anyone would miss it very much. The large volume had been left in a school in Wolfville and there were so many books. No one in Dahlia had expressed any interest in stars, so better it was in Aro’s hands than any others. Closing its cover, the girl looked to the sky and decided that he had probably slept enough. Tossing back her head she let out a long, low howl, her sweet voice rising and falling until it died away and she stayed sitting, waiting for her friend.

Perfectly fine ^^

It had been a week into his 'grounding' and he was still angry about it, his father had cooled him down some but somehow the anger was still clinging to him. He wanted to apologize to him mom but he wanted an apology too, was that wrong? He didn't know, but he had become more distant from her since that incident. He wasn't sure how to act about the whole screaming fest and the longer he let it go the less willing he was to step forward and the more he completely avoided his mother. Their relationship had taken a spike downward. There were times he got glimpses of her, but still he kept to himself not saying a word to her. He cursed himself for not stepping up, but hell! She started it..shouldn't she come forward first? She didn't let up, she pushed him too far! All this worry, all this upset made it so hard for him to sleep. He was confined to Crimson Dreams like a mere pet, he wasn't a pet! He was a boy, no a man! He tossed and turned trying to sleep, his dreams were fitful at best and full of nightmares. His fathers words haunting him. What if he lost his parents!? He wouldn't let that happen! He wouldn't let her die even if she pissed him off and he didn't like her right now. She was confining him, pushing him back pushing him down but curse the beast or creature that tried to hurt her, or kill her. He would rip them apart even if he died in the process.

His ears became caressed by a howl he hadn't heard before. It called to him and he rose from bed eyes widened as he tried to think of who it cold be. It was so musical and sweet sounding. He looked out the window letting his ears pinpoint the direction it came from. A large smile came from him and he rushed down the stairs and out the door not stopping for anything, even his fur was a mess and he didn't bother messing with it. He knew it had to be Nayru, she had haunted his dreams at times, even the nightmares. In all his dreams he was with her kissing her, and then he was torn away from her. He would never let out how much he wanted to just leave and come see her, or how much he wanted to just touch her hand and hold her. He was too shy for that, but then there were times he wondered if he just did that, what would happen? He wouldn't dare, he wanted to see if she liked him, what if she didn't and he tried, surely she'd hate him and never talk to him again. He feared she didn't think of him that way, so he wouldn't dare make a move, not yet. Being friends with her was better than not being around her.

Finally he came upon her, he had ran all the way here so it was no wonder when he leaned over over placing his hands on his knees panting, a sparkle in his sky blue eyes as he looked at her, "..Hey!" He smiled more, "..I'm sorry I haven't come to Dahlia...my parents were pissed..so...I'm grounded." He laughed, "I'm sure this is a breach of contract but forget them.." He laughed more as he straightened up with that playful smile he had, looking to what she brought with her, "Oh..is that...?" His eyes looked down to the book inquisitively before he suddenly noticed something on her ankle, his head tilted as he tried to get a better look at it, but he pulled his attention away, he didn't want to bombard her with questions. He didn't want to scare her away, if anything he was extremely awkward around girls when it comes to interacting with them. His sister and mother didn't count, it was the females he wasn't related to that he seemed to become nervous around. He would try and patiently wait before asking about what was on her ankle and to try and keep his questions in check he looked into her crimson orbs.

431.

”Hey.” The voice was gentle as she surveyed the boy rushing up to her, his breath short once he came to a halt before her. The words spilled from his mouth and she simply smiled, her hands still clasping the book protectively. It was true he hadn’t come back to Dahlia de Mai, but she hadn’t expected a visit from him so soon. So busy she had been with her training and preparing her own home that she hadn’t given Aro or anyone else much thought, but that he seemed to made her smile. Yet his words were confusing. Despite her high intelligence she didn’t quite understand what he meant. Grounded? Nayru had never heard the strange term before, but from the context of his words she deciphered the meaning. It made sense, that parents like leaders could restrict the comings and goings of children, but never had anyone tried to restrict Nayru. No one had ever felt a need to, and if they did Nayru would have simply gone around them. She would work around anyone but Conor if she felt that she had to.

Aro seemed very much dependent on the actions of his parents, and that they were angry he had escorted her home worried her. Would they then be angry that she came here? “Don’t make them angry on my account. I don’t mean to cause you any trouble.” Nayru would cause no strife between the packs, she knew that Dahlia de Mai was on shaky grounds with Inferni and because of that distrust from the other packs was likely. To bring trouble to the doorstep of Dahlia was one of the last things Nayru ever wished to do, and causing trouble for her friend Aro was also low on her list. Yet she was already here and surely a short visit wouldn’t harm anyone? Besides, it was Aro who was disobeying. No one from her side cared if she was here, and so if Aro wanted her to leave he only had to ask.

Lifting up the book she smiled and shoved it toward him. Truly it was a beautiful volume, heavy and thick with the page edges lined gold like the lettering on the cover. “I don’t know how useful it will be to you, but it’s certainly about stars. I couldn’t read too much of it actually.” Perhaps then it would take him a while to decipher the book. Yet if stars interested him then surely he would have better luck than her at making sense of it. “It’s your’s if you want it.”

ooc murr

Seeing a smile on her features made his own smile grow even more, she seemed shy, but she wasn't, it was hard to read her, but he was growing to like it more. She wasn't simple, and she seemed to keep her mind to herself. She held his interest and his mind. He couldn't help but laugh again and then he looked at her with a grin his brows coming together, "Don't me silly, they can't stop me..."his head shook in confusion "...and I don't understand why'd they be so angry, they act like Dahlia was going to kill me or attack me for being in their lands with you...." His animated expressions showed his every emotion as he talked, head tilted as he then thought for a moment, "...would they have?" He wondered, what if his parents were right? What if he would have died by going over there? Of course Nayru wouldn't have put him in that sort of danger, would she? He trusted her as she trusted him to take her safely home. His attention was taken from the problem at hand to the book she held so protectively, perking his ears as he then went to sit near her after the book was shoved to him a serious expression forming on his face when he took it and held it out some.

The book looked so important with its gold lettering and lining. His eyes only taken from it after she spoke about it being able to be his, "Wow...thank you so much...you're fantastic!" He opened the book glancing through it finding a few illustrations with worded explanations but mostly the book was filled with words. "..are you sure no one will miss it?" He looked up at her feeling this book to be like a holy grail. He was so excited but he tried to contain it fearing he'd overstep boundaries if he grabbed her and hugged her. The excitement in his eyes betrayed every bit of control that his body was held under right now. She made him want to be serious but he was so playful and childish in reality, yet he still practiced his control despite how unbelievably hard it was for him. A heavy sigh of excitement came from him as he looked back to the random page he was on looking to a diagram of what they called a binary star. Already he wanted to begin to read, but stopped himself, "...wow..this is awesome...just awesome stuff here.." He licked his lips in anticipation of all he'd learn from it, he wanted to go grab the dictionary but pushed it to the back of his mind as he forced himself to close the book, he'd mess with it later, right now he wanted to hang out with his friend, "I can't thank you enough.." He gripped the sides of the book holding it firmly as if someone would attempt to take it from him or it would fall. He wasn't going to let it go, that was obvious.

His eyes looked back to her with joy and excitement in them, "So..what have you been up to since last I saw you?" She would now hold his undivided attention. His eyes falling into those crimson portals, her soul somewhere within them. She was so fascinated to him, but he tried to keep it from showing scared that if she found out how much he adored her she'd somehow run away. He still felt she didn't like him that way, if she really liked him at all. Only time, and time always went too damn slow for him. Why did it have to take so long? Why couldn't he rush things? It was so frustrating to go at this pace in life. His eyes wondered to the gold lettering and began to trace of it with his claw ever-so-lightly so not to harm it. His claws slightly dull from clawing heavily to trees in anger, practice, and boredom. They weren't sharpened and he hadn't bothered to do so feeling no need. His eyes glanced over to her listening for any words that would fall from her muzzle.

Nayru simply smiled as Aro explained he didn’t care what his parents thought just then. For a moment she thought of leaving, if they should find them she didn’t want them to be angry, at him or herself. Or at Dahlia de Mai, and as Aro continued talking she understood that it was indeed their fear of the pack, and it’s instability perhaps, that had caused him to get in trouble. Yet that he would defy them must mean their wrath was not so strong, he had seemed far too respectful and concerned about what they would have thought when they first met for it to be just a blatant disobeying of their wishes. Nayru would never dream of disobeying Conor, and yet he let her run nearly as free as she wished, so it wasn’t hard at all to please her guardian. And he was so kind, did Crimson Dreams really fear him or Dahlia?

“No. No one would have hurt you.” Even Larkspur, whose soul was more clouded than any of the others in Dahlia, would have known better than to harm such a young boy from another pack. “Conor, our alpha, is very kind.” The previous leader of Dahlia de Mai had certainly left a stain upon their pack, and Nayru was glad to have come to Dahlia de Mai after his reign. Certainly she wouldn’t have found a home if such a monster still ruled. Yet she did not wish to dwell on the matter and so the patch work girl was glad when Aro took the book, and gladder still at his joy when he realized what a prize he held. Very briefly she flashed him a gentle smile and nodded at his thanks, yet so subtle was her movements that they were barely there. “You’re welcome, truly. It’s nothing at all, and no one will miss it.” Her angelic voice was soft, as usual and she avert her eyes as to avert any more declarations of gratitude from the boy.

Crimson eyes met with Aro’s once more when he asked of her doings lately. There had been much, but how much she wished to speak of it Nayru wasn’t sure. Her training with Saluce wasn’t private exactly, but it seemed unlady-like to speak of. And neither did she want to brag about her increasing abilities to kill, for that was what she was being trained to do. By the day Nayru was becoming deadlier, her stealth was increasing and reservations about taking the lives of other canines decreasing. Yet still, goodness lurked, and kindness and warmth triumph anything else that was buried inside of her, so whether she would ever use those skill she did not know. It was best not to breach that topic and share details that were more public as it were. “I’ve been busy preparing my own home, I left Bris and Conor’s.” And that was all she chose to share, her ruby eyes glittering happily up at Aro’s, a sad smile still lingering on her lips.

He still was trying to figure out why that smile of hers made him feel like gold like he had a privilege to see that smile. It made him feel special and he nearly wanted to grab her hands and take her somewhere special, but where? He pulled his mind out of his heart and nodded, "...I didn't think so, but I don't think my parents---well my mom is very knowledgeable about the other packs...I think she fears them, or maybe just Dahlia. I'd love to get to know your pack more...maybe I could spend some more time out of Crimson..I want to exlpore..and maybe soon." He had started out looking right into her eyes then when he spoke of exploration he looked down to the book. His eyes then again looked up to those brilliant red hues of hers. He was happy to know this book was his now. It was going to be well loved, and read so many times. He planned to have the book memorized, and to know the in and outs of the world they lived in. He didn't know why he craved it, but he did. Knowledge was something he craved, and he would do everything to know it.

He looked over curiously when she said that she said she had moved out of Conors, "Oh?" His ears went fully alert as he tilted his head, "Already, huh? I..I'm thinking about doing the same thing...maybe..maybe leave." He had moved to lay on his back, the book on his lap still, "...I wonder what is all out there..going to your pack lands actually was the furthest I'd ever been from crimson." He thought about crimson then thought about how she'd never been here. He sat up, "...hey..would you like to take a tour of Crimson Dreams?" He gave a bright smile to her, "There's a lot of beautiful places here." He said with a vigorous tail wag, "I'd love to be your tour guide." He said in a joking voice lifting his brows teasingly as he wore a smug smile.

Shortness! 315.

Nayru's gentle smile widened a bit as he spoke of exploration. It had been one of her favorite past times before, but training and tending to her home had kept her in Dahlia de Mai. This excursion to Crimson Dreams had been the first since Aro had escorted her home, and it would probably be the last in a long while. There was simply just too much to do within Dahlia to be too concerned about what happened outside of the borders. Still, the romantic lure of nomadic wanderings tugged at her every now and then, and she was glad to hear that Aro too felt that particular bite. “Oh, you should explore, there is so much to see. One day I hope to meet someone from every pack, I only know those from Aniwaya and here. And Inferni.” Razekiel. Nayru wondered how the strange coyote was doing, but she knew that she couldn't simply go seeking him out and the girl accepted that. Life would go on despite its limitations.

Nayru's ears perked at the invitation of a tour but for a long moment she did not answer him. On one hand he was on bad terms with his parents and however they ranked in Crimson Dreams they ranked above her. If they were to find the two of them together Nayru did not imagine that it would end very well, at least not with a good deal of explaining. And yet, she was doing no wrong by being here. Aro had invited her, and Anu had been so kind after all. And if this were truly one of her last ventures out of Dahlia for a while she might as well make the most of it. It was rare she indulged for her own pleasure, and so with a grin she rose up, turning her sparkling eyes to Aro. “Lead the way then.”

Permission was given for light PP ^.~

He gave a light chuckle hearing her mention all her explorations, he was almost jealous wishing he had that freedom, but wasn't inferni dangerous? He'd heard so many bad things about the coyotes, but curiosity tugged at him and he wondered. He looked down to his book, then back over to her. They couldn't be that awful, she's still alive and she didn't seem nervous about the coyotes either. Silence fell from her and he wondered what was going on in that mind of hers as he saw the wheels turning. Her sudden outburst made his eyes light up like the stars as he too shot to his feet and decided to be a bit silly as he took her hand and planted a small kiss upon her hand then spoke in a silly manner, "Well...let us be on our way madam!" He gave a light laugh letting go of her hand then began their journey through Crimson "..You're two ahead of me when it comes to meeting other packs..but I'll beat ya' soon enough..I'll meet as many wolves, dogs, and even coyotes, as I can. Meet every pack, and as many loners as I can on the way...heck, I'll even hit up every territory I can." Ambition laced in his voice, the imagination running wild. "...after today, next time I meet you, I'll be a different Aro Marino.." His eyes looked back to her with a slight wink.

He was feeling good about himself and it showed. Somehow she made everything better. He took a look down to his book, "Let me drop this off at home first..." He gave a look of mischief when his eyes met with hers, "...I'll just slip it in a window then we'll be on our way..don't worry, I'll make sure nothing bad happens.." He laughed some as they walked towards the manor. He held the book to him as he listened for anyone, and even made sure to use his nose as well. He did all this in a nonchalant manner not wanting to be obvious he was on alert. Aro invited her here, and there should be no reason for anyone throwing a fit, if they did he wouldn't be afraid to let his temper go, even though he shouldn't. His eyes gave a quick glance to Nayru, perhaps he shouldn't at all...he didn't want to scare her, or make her feel like it was her fault. He could tell she may be that sort of person, holding the world on her shoulders. A light smirk came to his features, like him...he would put the world on his shoulders if he could. They came within seeing distance of the manor and he stopped looking around to see who was there and he figured they should go down wind of the place, just in case. In all honesty, he found this exciting and fun! The most fun he'd had in a week or so. His tail didn't hide the excitement that bubbled within him. The two weren't doing any harm, they were having innocent fun, and hopefully that's how Nayru felt. He looked back at her, "Stay right by my side, okay?" He said as they snuck around making sure to be out of sight as best they could. "...by the way..that's where my family and I sleep..." He whispered with a light laugh while he moved to the back of the manor jumping over the fence in a foxy sly fashion. Carefully sliding open a nearby window after stealing a glance inside. It was the library window, a good place for the book to be, really. Then he slid the window down and turned to face Nayru, "Now let's get out of here before anyone sees us.." He said again in a whisper, a wide toothy grin coming across his muzzle.

Nayru passively allowed her hand to be caught up and brought to the boy's lips. Although the gesture was unfamiliar to the girl Nayru understood that the intent behind it was friendly and playful. Another had never brought their mouth to any part of her body, never her parents or anyone in Dahlia, unless it was in play fighting and yet it did not seem strange that he did it now. Nayru let her hand fall away and only smiled in return; veering her body in the direction he led towards. As he spoke of traveling and meeting strangers Nayru was glad that he shared her interest in exploration, but she wondered if truly one could transform themselves simply by experience new events and individuals, although Aro perhaps did not mean his words so literally. Was there a core component of their being they couldn't shake, or could they be recreated and be completely brand new? The idea stuck then in her head, though filed it away for further thought and turned her attention to Aro's movements and words.

They went to drop the book at Aro's home and Nayru was surprised to see that much like her home had been with Conor it was a human built structure. Larger and more grand than the Victorian home she had shared with the others, yet it was in many ways very similar. Those in Aniwaya lived in huts, not as clean looking as the buildings the humans had left behind. Yet still more members that she knew lived in natural dens or simply out in the open. It was interesting to see how others lived and even more so that Aro's home life possibly resembled her. Yet it was strange that they were tiptoeing now and Nayru knew then that she was not welcome, not exactly, and the idea sunk her heart a bit.

If they were in Dahlia there would be no need for sneaking (although Nayru did her fair share out of fun), that it was required here was unnerving. Did Aro's parents really hate her so? Or was it just Dahlians in general? Forcing a smile, Nayru's voice was firm and calm, but underneath the solid exterior her insides felt like slime. "Can we go somewhere where no one will bother us?"

It was after the fact he had completed his mission that he realized that Nayru looked uncomfortable. Her emotions were never very outward, but he could see something was wrong, and it wasn't until she spoke that it really seemed real to him. He again moved to take her hand and once it was taken he moved quickly making his way so they were fully out of sight of anyone, and he couldn't smell her hear any sounds that were of canine nature other than him and Nayru. He suddenly felt bad and he looked over to her looking into her eyes, slowing down"Nayru? He murmured to her. He had brought them to the skip caves, but he didn't go inside just stayed around the outside of them, "You don't need to worry about Crimson members really, the pack is actually..I mean..it's not that I'm worried about the pack if they see us...it's just my mom. Maybe her hormones are out of whack or something..." He looked away almost ashamed, "..I just want you to have fun..with me." His eyes and head looked to the ground as he sat down as he thought deeply for a moment feeling very frustrated that she looked upset, it almost made him angry at himself but he wouldn't show that, no he wouldn't allow himself to hold a temper. His eyes looked back up to her, "Nayru, you do know..even though my mom and I had a fight it had nothing to do with you or the fact that Dahlia is your pack right? I'm pretty sure my mom was just upset because I didn't say anything to her...and well I was gone for nearly a whole day..and she tracked my scent to the pack..and for some odd reason she thought something bad because Dahlia had been in a war with Inferni...I mean I don't know much about the reason behind the war or what exactly had gone on between the two packs, and really I don't think my mom knows either." He just went on, spewing his thoughts and hoped it would set Nayru at ease.

He searched Nayru's expression, hoping to get an understanding on how she felt, "..you know, maybe you could meet my dad sometime. He's my idol. I hope that one day I can be as strong and courageous as him." He added. It was nice to talk to others. Truth be told Aro Marino was a talker. He could talk on and on, and he was beginning to recognize this and in doing so he felt embarrassed, his cheeks feeling hot, "..I'm sorry if I'm talking too much..." He laughed lightly and stood back up licking his lips, "Do you have a goal for yourself? Like someone you look up to, or something you want to be?" He asked her while the back of his mind also wanted to ask if she liked anyone but not like that, more like how he liked her. Her red eyes for some odd reason seemed to hold such intense emotion and he loved to look into them and try to read her emotions. She seemed so mysterious to him, and he wanted to crack those mysterious and know her so much more. Know what she loved, what she liked, what she hated, and what she disliked. He wanted to make her laugh, make her smile. He wanted to be there when she was scared, he wanted to be that shoulder for her to lean on. He didn't understand why, but he kept all this to himself. No one knew how he felt for her, no one knew he even liked anyone--if this was all it was.

He didn’t read her face, he couldn’t have, because there was nothing to give away her discomfort there. And like the trained creature she was her body posture did not show any discomfort either, but he could sense her unhappiness. Perhaps he knew her personality well enough, or it was just a feeling he had, but Nayru was relieved when he realized the source of her discomfort. They moved away from the imagined danger, whether it be Crimson Dreams or just Aro’s mother, and Nayru listened as the boy spoke. Crimson eyes soaked him in as he tried to explain there was really nothing to worry about, but why then was his mother so angry? He attempted to explain about Dahlia de Mai’s past, but Nayru knew it all too well. She felt the biases that Haku’s reign had left smeared over her beloved lands and although she had never met the beast she almost resented him for it. Almost. It was not his doing anymore, but the closed minds of others, that kept Dahlia de Mai in ill favor with the other packs.

"If there was any evil in Dahlia de Mai before, it is not there now." Her voice, which was normally barely above a whisper, dropped low, so low that she doubted if Aro could hear her at all. And it didn’t matter really. It was the realities of the past against her word, and she suspected that her word wouldn’t change the minds of those that still felt caution against Dahlia de Mai. Yet Aro kept speaking and Nayru let the sullenness flood from her. It was useless to hold onto such feelings as they served no purpose in the present, although she vowed silently to herself that she would do all she could to prove Dahlia de Mai to the others once again.

"Your father, huh? Perhaps someday I will meet him." She smiled then, sweetly and genuinely as she tried to think of a name of her own idol. Yet she idolized no one, although she looked up to many. Conor for her leadership, Bris for her kindness, Saluce for his skill and discipline and even Larkspur for his ruthlessness and Cwmfen for her reserve. It was not just one of them, but all of Dahlia that crafted her. And it was not her own ambitions that drove her, but the incessant need to please and serve the others. "I only wish to serve Dahlia de Mai the best that I may." The white lady came to her mind then, for the dream-ghost had goals and aspirations for the young girl but Nayru shook her from her mind. "These caves, what are they?" The girl wished suddenly to think of anything other than Dahlia or the white lady and the others.

He barely heard her when she spoke of the evil that if there was now gone. His eyes took in hers and when she spoke of the skip caves he gave a big smile, he almost dared himself to kiss her, but wouldn't refused. He held back not sure how she'd feel about it, hell he didn't know how she felt about him. Obviously she liked him enough to be here with him, but was it the same feelings he held for her? Heaven only knew. He back tracked back to his father though, "Yes, perhaps, I'm sure he'd like to meet the female that made me stay a night in another pack's territory.." He teased before he turned to look to the caves, "..these caves, we call them the skip caves." His eyes looked back to her with a playful excited grin. "They actually all connect, or so I've heard, never actually went in...would you like to my lady?" He again began to play around with his words and in a way exploring their friendship wondering in the back of his mind if indeed it could be more.

Without waiting for an answer he began to walk toward the caverns, his eyes look back as he again smiled to her hoping again to see that same sweet smile she had given when she mentioned she'd be willing to see his father. "So Dahlia...the pack seemed to be the world to you..." he almost wanted to add to that, but instead he changed his mind on what to say only adding this, "I admire such dedication." Then he jumped up onto a large rock, "Now let us explore my fine black and white lady!" He winked teasingly with a signature smirk upon his muzzle.

Nayru is just never going to understand men.

The teasing, as friendly as it was—nearly flirting—went over Nayru’s head. She did not understand why Aro said that his father would like to meet the female that had made him stay in another pack’s territory. Well, she hadn’t made him do anything, and even if she did why did he sound so cheerful about it? Was that a bad thing, forcing anyone to do anything, especially against their guardians’ wishes? Yet Aro was in a good mood and Nayru dared not spoil it by seeking to understand and make him explain his statement. Instead she only mirrored his smile, as if she too were in on the joke, and was relieved when he began to talk about the caves. He called her his lady, but she took it simply as a friendly title, and she nodded when he asked if she wanted to explore them.

"Dahlia does not have any caves I know of, only dens that we have dug ourselves." And if they did have caves surely they were small and insignificant. Natural dens and nothing more. Perhaps one day they would find larger caves to explore, adding to the vast and varied landscapes that made up her home, but for now she would gladly see inside the Crimson Dream caves. Although, one thing about caves, Nayru knew without having to enter them, was that once inside it quickly became pitch black. With no sunlight, her canine eyes would be helpless. "Should we figure out some sort of light? " She peered into the opening, and as expected was greeted with darkness several yards in. Exploring would be far more adventurous in the dark, but also far more foolish.

I greatly apologize Sad My muse was wiped out by my Flu. Just got over it a few days ago.

It was almost shocking that she didn't notice his flirting, it didn't seem to affect her in any way. This caught Aro's curiosity more, he wondered about pushing the boundaries some. Push it further see what he could get away with. Leaping down he went inside the entrance until no light touched over his fur, he turned around hearing her mention Dahlia not having any natural caverns. He walked back out so she could see him better, "Well, then this will be a treat for you." He gave a warm smile, before giving a hardy laugh, "Aww, I was hoping it would be more romantic without light.." he laughed a little more then let out a happy sigh before getting serious, "..just joking Nayru...let's see...do you have any ideas for a light source?" He had one idea but thought it would be stupid, so he'd wait and see what she had put together in her mind, if anything.

Aro Marino was fast becoming more comfortable around her and felt like he was fighting against himself though. She made him want to act like a puppy and he didn't know why. Despite, the feeling of comfort-ability he fought against himself when it came to his actions, his words though came out like vomit. Today would be one for the books, surely he'd learn a lot from today when it came to Nayru the red eyed beauty that caught his attention--fully.

Weee, finally! <3 316.

More romantic? Nayru eyed the male, though no changed appeared on her face. Romance was a foreign idea to the girl, although she was beginning to note some seemed to indulge and enjoy whatever it was. Saluce, for example, had the unknown but named female Layla, although Nayru understood little of their alliance aside from the biological purpose to produce offspring. What the two Jagers of Dahlia had mirrored that of her father and mother (or so she gathered from Saluce’s words), her large bi-colored brute of a father had always been so kind and warm towards her snowy, small mother. There was affection there, but it seemed different than the affection Nayru felt for Conor and Bris, or even Gideon and Aro. They wanted constant physical contact at times, and they seemed to understand each other on a much deeper level. Was that romance? Was Nayru supposed to crave it like the others seemed to? It seemed all irrelevant to her. She had family and friends enough, and the girl certainly wasn’t eager to balloon out with puppies. The fairy girl was content in herself, why did she need the approval or affection of another?

And then Aro said he was just joking, so perhaps he too did not ponder too much on romanticism. Were they too young to feel the stirrings that others were supposed to induce? Or was it just she? It didn’t matter and Nayru let the comment pass as just a joke, unable to sense the changes in Aro’s tones and looks toward her. "Cloth around a stick. Thick cloth though, that will burn for a while. Can we find that somewhere? " In Dahlia such a contraption would have been easy to create, but the girl was unfamiliar with the resources of Crimson Dreams and had to rely solely on Aro’s knowledge and willingness. Which, he seemed more than willing.

So so sorry, a recent passing had found my muse a bit dulled...many apologies Nayru >.o

His eyes watched her as she seemed to be staring at him with a slight more intensity, but it easily could be his imagination. Still, he couldn't shake the feeling she was staring at him a bit stronger than usual. It was a real relief when she spoke, perhaps it was merely her thinking about what to do about the lighting situation. His ears folded back and he thought, his chin lowering down as his hand came up to rub it. The only place he could think of was the manor, and well, Nayru didn't want to go there. He turned his head, then looked back and let out a small sigh. "Well..how about we skip this place as we are less prepared..." He jumped down the rocky terrain of the caverns and began to walk toward what seemed to be nowhere, then he crashed down upon his back. His eyes tilted back and he looked at her, "...I wanna learn more about you...what do you like to do?" He could tell she loved her pack, so that's something. She seemed quiet and to herself...that was another thing, but what more was there to her? She was a mysterious female, and he was quite curious. Aro was a complex, yet transparent individual. His expressions always on the outside, his emotions never seemed to be hidden--except one, but that was because the female he was crushing all over didn't seem to get flirting---or perhaps she ignored it. Aro just couldn't tell. "Come over here, and watch the clouds with me..that is, until winter clouds over the entire blue sky!" He laughed, amused with himself more than anything.

He really wanted to just explore with her, but for now laying down and watching the sky seemed fun. It was something peaceful and less stressful. It was like meditation, another thing that always caught Aro's curiosity...hell the whole world was a curious thing to the tuxedo male, and he'd be out exploring the whole world if he could, then come back with wild stories. His mind began to wonder, and his focus gone to his mind. He was a day dreamer, and quite the imaginative one too. He wondered what it would be like to fly, be a bird and just take off into the clouds. How think were they? He'd seen mist before...were clouds like that?

No worries luff. Tis short! And getting old. oy. 327.

Nayru should no disappointment as Aro turned away from the cave. Simply she followed him, her pleasant face not changing expression, even if she had rather gone deep into the cave. There will be other caves, and with that thought it was easier to put this particular cave from her mind and keep her focus on Aro. The black and white male moved it seemed with little purpose, and then he collapsed onto the ground. Crimson eyes watched the boy as he invited her to sit alongside him, and she did so, although he descent to the ground was more graceful than his had been.

Lowering herself next to him, a small gap of space between, she sat cross legged, her ruby eyes following his gaze up toward the heavens. Rarely did she gaze up, except during storms and once in a rare while to admire the stars. Her mother had always had her eyes cast skyward, it was one of the rare details Nayru could remember about her biological parents. Yet Aro had directed a question toward her before even offering her the spot next to his and she had yet to voice her answer. He wanted to know more of her, but Nayru couldn’t think of anything that was worth telling him. She was what she was, a humble servant of Dahlia de Mai and a thoughtful but aloof girl. There was very little else to tell. "I like plants, I like to watch them grow. And I like to practice my hunting. " There was more, but she didn’t feel comfortable telling him those things. That she liked to sing and dance when no one was around and that more than anything she spent time with her dagger, safely in its sheath and strapped to her ankle, and that it had become a deadly weapon in her hands even if she, soft and timid, never thought she’d use it to bring death to anyone.
