◦Initial post: Ivory appendages carried the canine swiftly through the long grass. The whipped and bit at her slim muzzle, some even leaving seeds or burs in her lush coat. She was almost there…she could smell it. And then suddenly she burst from the long grass, muscles rippled along her pelt as she pulled herself atop a small boulder. Claws grappling with the sandy stone that crumbled and gave way beneath her paws many times before she finally succeeded.

It was a wonderful day for running. With the sun beating down softly and the clouds shielding the earth from any rays that were too strong. A gentle breeze send the long grasses rolling like waves, parting and swirling like the ocean she had only seen pictures of. Aponi had heard of this place…. It was rumored to be peaceful and accepting. Just what the young female was hoping for. She had barely overstepped the boundary, but she knew that soon a patrolling canine would probably become aware of her presence….with the wind blowing as it was, sending her scent everywhere, it was only a matter of time. And she was a white wolf….not really the blend in type for around here.

But she was impatient type, and after only waiting a few minutes she lifted her slim muzzle to the sky and called. A deep sound from the very depths of her chest that would carry for miles. She could shift, but she was more comfortable in her wolf form. Just the thought of pulling her white fur back to reveal the mocha skin beneath made her tremble. She swung her tail, bumping each of her legs in turn as she waited for the welcoming party to arrive.

The day was a more or less relaxed one, with the agouti fae barely lifting an eyelid before halfway through the morning. Typically Ghita was up and about with the sun, a long-standing habit she had picked up on from her days as a nomad, but age was beginning to take it's very first toll on her, her body commanding more and more sleep depending on her activities. Even so, her stomach was starting to protrude once more, the first tell-tale sign of pregnancy obviously underfoot. All of this in a combination made for a very lazy mother - one who could afford to be so.

Her two children, Aro and Sophia, had each blossomed into young adults in their own right, beginning to explore the world with or without their parents' supervision and permission. But this was the most rocky time in a parent-child relationship, where the tenuous balance between freedom and responsibility came into full play. But her tuxedoed son and her mahogany-kissed daughter had so far fared well - leaving Ghita time to worry about herself and her unborn pups in peace.

This pregnancy was unlike the ones she'd had before; Previously, she had been worried about the state of the pups growing inside of her. In a rocky relationship that was only marred by her miscarriage, she had been emotionally scarred since the trauma, and had always been apprehensive about finally being able to carry a litter to term successfully. But with the success of Aro and Sophia brought confidence to Ghita - allowing her pelt to shine and her head to be held high, unrestrained by the stress she put upon herself.

And that was how the fae was patrolling the border on this day, letting the hint of fall air cut into her richly coloured pelt that looked as if it could've been taken from the forest floor itself. Hints of grey and silver with accents of red and orange painted her mostly brown pelt, letting her small paws fall upon the ground, ebony nose bent upon a new scent she had only become aware of a few minutes ago. The heavily pregnant fae knew, in some sense, that she would be no use in a border skirmish and would likely have to call in reinforcements, but that thought didn't stop the headstrong Italian fae - what weakness ever had?

Picking up the speed as Aponi's howl cut through the air, the Lupus fae hobbled across the grass in a loping trot, limping to keep her back hind leg up and off of the ground. Ever since Old Red had collapsed on it in the summertime, it had never worked quite the same, and had become a point of sensitivity for the aging fae. Soon enough, the rise and fall of the landscape brought her to the fae who, Ghita assumed, had voiced the howl, and the Major straightened her posture considerably from the relaxed position she had been in.

Her plain and pierced ear alike stood up on her cranium, the picture of alertness to any kind of danger approaching. Ghita's turquoise optics shone out with the sun's light, letting the warmth hit her pelt all across her back, from her standing position, and finally, her tail rested at an height, straight out from the back, but just a little higher, showing her authority. Her tone chimed with the hints of her Italian roots thrown in, all the while accented with suspicion and authority, but missing hostility altogether. “Good day, stranger. I see you've found Crimson Dreams all right. What's your business here?”
