Here you go Timid :3. WC: 325 {3 points}

Sepirah was not well known for wandering too far from the Inferni borders, but most days now she was feeling daring. Then again, with Inferni feeling less and less like a home, she tended not to hang around it as much. Her brothers were never around, neither was her grandmother, and it seemed her father had other ideas about what to do with his life. A soft sigh passed the jackels lips as she came to the town of Halifax. God knows why she came here in the first place. There was nothing she needed from here and there really was no one around. She wandered around the empty streets as she lowered her head. She felt so lonely and not even any of her new wolf friends were around. Was the world beginning to turn its back on her? The dark princess lowered her body to the ground as she looked to the sky. It was the middle of the day and there was nothing to do. Perhaps if she just waited, something would happen.

Sepirah could feel the heat beating down on her dark fur. The sun was not as hot as it was in the summer, but it was still hot. The jackal raised herself up and moved to where there was some shade. It was alright but not much better. There was no breeze to get rid of the heat and it just seemed to be getting worse. Perhaps now was the time to be heading home, seeing as no one was here. The dark princess moved from her spot and began to head to the northern edge of Halifax. Sepirah was unsure if all of the town was claimed by a territory or not, but she knew the northern part was her way back home. It was close to the Eternal Eclipse which was close to the Inferni borders. Her tail dragged behind her as she continued on her way.

Thanks for starting! <3

Long ago, the sight of a small jackal-like canine trotting through the streets of Halifax would have caused quite a stir—and yet now such a creature was here, looking around with wide eyes to take in the scenery. The buildings were in various stages of dilapidation; some were old and crumpled, but still many stood larger than any structure she’d seen. Cars crouched on the asphalt, once speedy predators now dormant with rust collecting on their insect-like, colorful shells.

The hybrid leaped onto the roof of a Corvette, peered into the dusty windshield, and jumped onto the ground from the hood, all four paws hitting the asphalt. She moved with caution, but curiosity overtook her instinct to run back into her pack territory. She was no stranger to human buildings and machines, but they were usually simple barns, cabins, and the odd tractor. This scale of size, however, was alien to her. She didn’t know how it all stayed up, or how the humans had been able to make it so big.

The smell of another canine drifted past her on the wind, and the small ginger female’s ears cocked toward the sound of footsteps. She quickly slinked behind a trash can, her gait reminiscent of her ancestors skulking around lion kills, but there was no such craftiness and cowardice in her. She knew that, outside of the Valley, she was at the mercy of whoever came across her. If it was a large and violent wolf, she was done for.

However, when Timid finally caught sight of the other animal, she was overcome with interest. The shape was dark yet small and lithe, and there was something familiar to the build of it. She couldn’t quite place it, but it made her feel happiness and dread, all at the same time. She quickly trotted after the other, keeping her distance, but sooner or later the other creature would turn around and notice her. Best speak up first.

The female tried to make her voice sound bold, but it came out as a tremulous squeak. “H-hello there, miss.”

It was a rather boring walk to the end of Halifax. There was nothing lively about the place and it looked like a dump. No one had been around here for ages and it seemed like nothing more than a wasteland. She padded along against the rough ground and gave a slight growl. It was bad enough that the place looked like a mess but couldn’t the roads be a bit more comfortable? She tried to find a better place to walk before she continued on towards home.

A faint scent caught Sepirah’s nose as she came near the edge. She paused and looked around. So far it looked like no one was around, but the scent still lingered in the air. The jackal began to follow the scent until she came to where the coyote was hiding. She wasn’t able to see her hiding but she looked around. So far the scent was leading her towards the trash can but there was no way she was going to go near it. She didn’t want to get her pretty self all dirty. She backed away and continued to look around. This little game of hide and seek was getting rather boring, so the dark princess decided it was time to give up and head back home.

As she was heading back, Sepirah’s ears moved as she heard something or someone moving. The dark princess turned around as she noticed the coyote coming out of her hiding place. She sniffed the stranger and found that she did not carry the scent of Inferni. This was perfect. Finally she may be able to make a friend with an actual coyote who was outside of her pack. A smirk formed on her face as the coyote said her greeting. She gave a small bow and looked to the female’s green eyes. ”Hello there. My name is Sepirah Lykoi. What is your name?” She lowered her rear and took a seat on the road as she waited for the coyote to introduce herself.

The lithe black creature seemed to notice that she was being followed, but other than passively looking around with golden eyes, she did not look for the pursuer. It was not until Timid worked up the courage to step out from her hiding place and greet the female that she turned again, a smirk gracing her narrow muzzle. It was strange, the similarities that the hybrid could already pick out between them. It was obvious that they were made up of a similar mix of species, even if the melanistic coat of the stranger threw her off.

With a bow, the other jackal-hybrid introduced herself as Sepirah Lykoi, and Timid worked her mouth silently around the exotic name. How could two similar-looking canines have such different names? Her own moniker was short and simple—and she felt short and simple next to this other young woman. They looked to be more or less the same age, but still there was a difference in how they carried themselves, as well. Sepirah did not seem new to the lands at all, and the nonchalance with which she’d looked around bespoke of confidence.

Considering all these things, the gingery girl almost forgot to respond. “I’m Timid,” she said, a brightness to her voice that wasn’t usually there. She paused for a moment and added in a mumble, “I mean, my name is Timid.” Other luperci were generally confused until she explained.

“Do you—do you mind telling me what you are?” she asked, her black-dipped ears lowering a little. She didn’t know if it was rude to ask another about their pedigree or not, but she hadn’t seen anyone similar to her. They were all wolves—thick-furred and sturdy. To find someone like her was a treat.
