Yayyyy! <3

She had found herself near the large stream of water again, as her fur brushed past the final expanse of dense trees and into the early morning sun. Malachi licked her muzzle, having just finished off a plump rabbit on the way. The creature wasn't all too sure of where she was going, she just let her paws take her where they wanted. It was the belief, which she believed in wholeheartedly, that nature ran its course, even through one's body, so it would be too negative of an effect to tell one's body what to do otherwise.

Mala was going to cross the lake, but she wasn't about to swim in it. Hell no. Her waddling stopped as she found a nice set of soaked grass and some rocks to tread upon, and she made the short journey towards it. Her mind was reeling as her paws slowly pressed onto the first rock and muddy grass patch, looking from her paws to her destination on the other side. Malachi had no idea why she was so afraid of being neck-deep in water, but it scared the bejeebus out of her. Imagine, a big animal like her afraid of a bit of water.

She exhaled a long breath that she didn't even realize she was holding, as the last of her legs made it across dry land once more. Mala swung her head around to look back at it, twitching her ears in thought. Would the spirits someday lead her in the water, to overcome her fear? The creature was almost always around water anyways, but when she thought about it.. it was more of fate bringing her there than chance.
A gust of wind picked up and floated through her nostrils and filling her lungs, with the scent of... a friendly sort! Mala turned away from the expanse of water and ambled through a field, already beginning to smell the scent of berries. But it wasn't delicious berries she was after, she wanted to know what this sign was. Pushing forward, she stopped when the scents became much stronger. Lifting her muzzle to sniff again, her brain clicked and her eyes shot open.

This was the scent of a wolf, or two, that she knew! They were fresh, and somewhere nearby, she knew Shaw and or Skye would be close. Her body fidgeted, pacing back and forth a few times in the field. She did detect the smell of other wolves whom she was not familiar, therefore Mala thought there must be a tribe or group somewhere near. But her concern wasn't of them at the moment, and her cream muzzle lifted into the air. A howl, or what she attempted at a howl, shot through the skies, hoping she'd see a familiar face or two. The sound that emitted from her throat and audible to anyone within range was more of a growl or bellow or some sort, without any trace of threat. Malachi then fell silent, her ears twitching and waiting for a sign, all the while wagging her stubby tail.

OOC here!

Shaw was indeed nearby. Near enough to hear the strange howl that came his way, it certainly didn’t sound like a wolf, but it did sound like one a wolf would make. Curious he moved through the trees to see what had made this noise, his ears perked and his nose to the air he did smell a faint of familiarity in the animal that had made the noise. When he came to where the howl had ocme from, a wide grin on his muzzle appeared.

Oh Malachi, It is good to see you again!

Shaw said, greeting his newer friend, though many would have thought the bear was scary and intimidating, he knew her as a friend, though some of the stuff did seem to make him move away in fear she’d changed her mind thinking she was a wolf. But he felt comfortable being around her… more so than most wolves.

It was a good day, a happy day, a white-fluffy-clouds-in-the-sky kind of day. She walked through the Cercatori d'Arte territory, happy, when she heard a low moan - or a growl - or...something. It was the kind of sound of...a bear? It sounded exactly like a bear, in fact. But it wasn't exactly threatening - in fact, it wasn't threatening at all. It was quite low-key, in both senses of the word. Sort of like a bear was trying to sound like a wolf.

Wait. A bear...trying to be like a wolf...

Could it be?

She pushed through the undergrowth and grinned. There she was! Her first friend ever in Souls; Malachi! Malachi, the great brown bear who thought she was a wolf. She grinned and, the wonderfulness of the day taking hold of her, she dashed forward and flung her arms around the bear. "Malachi!" she exclaimed. "It's so great to see you!!"

Prepare for bear hugs!

Her heart skipped a beat, when the silence of the morning was suddenly broken by the parting of bushes nearby. When she turned, and heard the familiar voice of Shaw, she grinned rather foolishly, like a joyful little pup. "Kwe, Shaw!" Her voice was light as air, as she padded up to him. Mala's back legs were sturdy upon the ground as Mala raised herself up on two legs, about the same height as Shaw, and wrapped her large arms around him in a bear hug.

"It's so great to see you!!" Came the light, airy voice of someone else Malachi recognized. Could it be? As Mala let go of Shaw in a gripping hug, she turned on her two legs to see Skye coming towards her. "Skye!" Mala's grin could not have been wider, and her heart more happy, than to see the first few friends who accepted her and her strange wolf-bear ways into their lives. Mala's arms came around Skye in a hug, though not as strong as the one she gave Shaw. Skye was, of course, smaller than she on two legs.

When the creature greeted both of them, she took a few steps back and pushed herself back down on all fours, her nostrils flaring. "I thought I smelled you! What on earth are you both doing here?" Malachi's tone was a happy one, and curiosity easily got the best of her now. Her honey eyes moved from Shaw, then to Skye, and then back again. Several questions were going through her mind at this very moment.

Shawchert was all smiles as he got the bear hug from his friend. It would have been bone crushing if he wasn’t ready for it, he could only pat her with one hand as he held his breath from her hug, then he heard Skye, and she came running at Malachi, it seemed the bear had been around often! He was surprised that she knew Skye, though Skye was a wonderful wolf he saw her as very skittish and shy, but he was still just getting to know her.

We live here actually, we started a pack, Cercatori D’ Arte, it’s for the artists to come and well do what they do best!

He said excitedly, he’d let Skye get further into details, he wasn’t one to announce his own leadership unless he needed to and as Malachi was a bear, she would be free to roam d’Arte whenever she wanted to!

Skye grinned after hugs went all around. Malachi was her first real friend in Souls, and she was so glad to see that she was here, in Cercatori d'Arte territory! It was great! Although Skye was usually shy in meeting new people and seeing new things, she loved the meeting of old friends, and it was funny to see that Shawchert knew Malachi as well. She listened as he gave his short little introduction of the pack and she nodded, turning to Mlaachi with enthusiasm.

"It's not very big, but that's the way it's best - like a family! You can visit whenever you want, Malachi - it'd be great to see you around here!"

Like so many times in the past month, Skye found that she was very happy and her tail was wagging. She didn't know why she was so happy lately - and she didn't care, either! She was just glad to be with two of her first friends in her adventures of Souls, and happy to see them in Cercatori d'Arte, where she finally felt like she belonged.

ooc: D'aw, Mala's so cute right now.

Mala's heart was beating a million miles a minute now, and if it weren't for her large, fluffy chest, her other two friends would've easily seen it beating. It seemed like nothing could stop these happy feelings. She turned her attention towards Shaw, looking at up him. Something seemed different about him, and Skye, too. They looked like responsibility was carried across their shoulders, and their heads were held high and their eyes sparkled with pride.

And then she heard.. the creation of a pack. She was on pack grounds.

Her rounded ears flew down and her stomach felt like it hit rock bottom. Malachi was a loner, intruding upon their pack grounds. Sure, the two wolves that stood before her were her friends, but they were considered alphas now. And Mala was treading upon their grounds. She felt her body become a bit lower, now, but before she could mumble an apology, Skye spoke up.

"You can visit whenever you want, Malachi.." Had she really heard those words? She lifted her large brown head up for a moment, her honey eyes focusing on Skye, searching her face in an incredulous way. "I-- you guys mean it?" Her voice broke a little, and her eyes began to well up with emotion. It wasn't an acceptance into a pack, but it was a sign.. a sign of being able to go someplace where she, could, finally, belong.

OOC here!

Malachi’s happiness radiated all around. Thought he did see her move closer to the ground when they announced their new pack and that they were the leader and co leader, but once Skye mentioned that she could come as she pleased, he saw nothing but astonishment.
Of course we do, you are our friend, though I didn’t know it about Skye, but you are welcome here whenever.

Shaw said, a light tone in his voice, he didn’t have to play leader today, not right now, he was just another wolf. He patted the bear’s shoulder.

So what brought you here to begin with?

He asked curious if she still thought she was a wolf, he thought she still might, but he was not one to take away an illusion if it was working so well for her… who would argue with a talking bear?

ooc: yay mala!

Skye didn't want Malachi to feel as though she was trespassing. I mean, even if she thinks herself a wolf, she thought, she is still a bear! And our friend, she added in her head. Even if Malachi really was a wolf, of course she would be able to visit Cercatori d'Arte! And Shawchert voiced her thoughts as well, and Skye nodded and smiled. She hoped their combined efforts would be able to emend Malachi's feelings - and it seemed they did. She lifted her head and smiled, and Skye grinned back.

At Shawchert's question, Skye nodded. What did bring Malachi here? Last time she'd seen her, they were at Arachnea's Revenge by the lake. That was on the other side of Dahlia de Mai - an entire pack! Had Malachi traveled from Dahlia de Mai to here in this short a time?

But then, Skye herself had traveled from the mountains in relative quickness, especially after that initial shock of finding Inferni with their wolf skulls impaled on spikes. She supposed a bear, especially Malachi, with her greater strength, stamina, and speed would have been able to travel farther and faster. Or perhaps she was looking for a place to call home? Skye wouldn't mind accepting Malachi into the pack, even if she wasn't a wolf - but she wasn't exactly sure what Shawchert would think. She hoped the situation wouldn't get awkward - Skye hated awkward situations!

ooc:

"Of course we do, you are our friend.." Those words radiated through her like the first warm sunlight of spring. The smile on her cream-colored muzzle never faded, and her muscles stopped tensing up. Though she was on new pack territory, her two great friends - both leaders, now - welcome her with open paws. If that wasn't friendship, Malachi wasn't sure what was.

She looked to Shaw at his question, then to Skye, who also wanted to know what brought her to this place. And truly.. Mala wasn't all too sure, either. Her lips pressed together in thought, and she rolled her body to a sitting position, just as a smudge of drool hit the ground. Mala's claw scratched her belly idly, looking from one friend to the other. "I.. I'm not quite sure," she stammered, then felt a cool wind pick up and ruffle through her enormous body. Even she had to shiver despite the winter fat she was building up. Her nostrils flared as she glanced up at the morning sky. "But winter is almost here--" Malachi could never understand why she felt so slow, and lazy, and tired around this season. Even when she was younger, she did her best to stay up and push sleep from her mind and her system. But it always came. Always.

Her head cocked a little sideways as her gaze focused on the two wolves again. "And.. I think I'm going to need to find someplace to stay, soon, until spring." She gave a genuine smile. "Would either of you know where there's a warm, empty, and mostly dry cave to stay in?" Mala always had her runs of bad luck in finding places, but she knew she would need to find a shelter soon. Last winter was awful, so she promised herself to plan ahead and find a den early. Of course, the creature was going to do her best and not have to sleep - though she would need something else to do, someone else to talk to.. anything at all to keep her busy.

Shawchert waited as the wolf-bear thought about what had made her come into this area. He was a patient wolf and knew when to let an animal think because sure enough she answered, although not the answer he wanted… but then again, what kind of answer did he want, she wasn’t coming to visit him because she didn’t know that he lived here!

Well your feet must have been telling you that friends are here then.

Shawchert said quietly. He had to think at her request for a cave, he knew there were caves in the forests, though he wasn’t sure himself if they were big enough for a bear, he could tell she was getting ready for winter, but did she know that wolve’s stayed awake all winter while the bears slept the nights and days away? He didn’t want to ask or explain his question neither.

I’m afraid I know of no caves here myself, but I have not done all the exploring I could do.

Shawchert said, with a hopefully glint in his voice. He was sure that the bear would find something even if Skye didn’t know, though she’d probably had a bit more time finding something that might accomidate the bare, he wasn’t sure though.

Caves...Skye would have to think about that one, but she didn't think there were many, if any at all, caves in the area. "I'll have to think about that myself," she said in reply to Malachi's question and Shawchert's voice saying that he, too, didn't know where to find a cave in their pack's territory. She knew there were large rock formations in the forest, undoubtedly with caves in them, but those were tiny caves - cracks, even. She knew Malachi, even if she thought herself a wolf, was really a bear - and a large one. And large bears needed large caves.

And she did know why Malachi thought she was so slow and sluggish in the summer, Skye thought wryly. She was a bear - and bears hibernated in the summer. She wondered if Malachi would find a cave, and if she did, would she sleep in it all summer? Would she need to eat lots of giant squid beforehand? She knew bears needed lots of food before hibernation, and wondered if her packlands had enough giant squid for a large bear to sustain herself for three months. But perhaps, since Malachi thought herself a bear, she had found a way to override the instinct to sleep for weeks on end and would stay away for the summer like Shawchert and herself.

ooc:

The creature glanced from one wolf to the other, and saw disappointment flash through their eyes when they found no answer to Malachi's question. Her own rounded ears fell for a moment, but then she brightened herself up and flashed a great, big, toothy grin at them. "Well, no matter! I'll find one soon," she said, and then got a crazy idea. "Maybe you two can visit me when I do!" Her honeyed eyes flashed with hope, and suddenly thought to herself that once she departed from her two friends this very morning, she'd go and find a cave nearby the packlands. Yes, that's exactly what she was going to do.

Her body leaned backwards and rolled into a sitting position, as best as she could sit, and scratched her belly again. The next words that came out of her were bold, at least to a loner like herself, but she swallowed her fear. "W-would you two mind sh-showing me around?" For a split second, she immediately regretted saying those words. But the wolves before her were her friends, her first friends in this new land, and though she didn't want to overstay her welcome, curiosity got the best of the big brown beast.

OOC: Im sorry this took so long… and this is such a crappy post <3 promise next one will be better!!

Shawchert couldn’t be any happier at the Bear’s optimism and he shook his head as she offered for them to visit when she did get a cave.

That would be a great idea, I don’t see any reason not to visit.

Though deep in his head he was telling himself if she was hibernating he wasn’t going to try to wake the bear up… but she was his friend, no matter the species boundries they had. His heart warmed over at the sight of her becoming suddenly, shy, and it took her a second before she could get out what she wanted to say.

I don’t see why we shouldn’t I think that’s a splendid idea.

He nodded, he was sure Skye would agree, neither of them cared much for sitting around, and there was always so much more to explore and find new adventures.

ooc: sorry for the wait, guys!

Skye was a little bored sitting around - they were outside, for sanity's sake! - so she was delighted when Malachi proposed her and Shaw show her around. "Sure, Mala!" she exclaimed, leaping up and grinning. She didn't want Malachi to feel threatened or nervous, which was what she was acting like - she didn't really like that at all. She put a hand on he bear-wolf's shoulder, hoping to ease her some.

"Where should we begin?" she asked Shaw. Their territory wasn't very large - she thought it might be the smallest territory in the world of Souls, actually - but there were some good places to see. Thornbury was a very good place to start, as it was home to many of the pack's inhabitants. There was also the tree that marked the territory of the pack, which was decorated and carved beautifully, with its ornate letters and decorations. She always loved seeing the tree that started it all.

ooc: This is rather short, but I wasn't sure what else to do xD

The big creature was more than delighted to hear upon the agreement of a look around the new pack. Mala felt the comforting hand of the white female, and smiled up at her. Looking at both of them, the flash of malachite green sparkled in her eyes momentarily, before she closed them. She felt her body begin to rise up again, like it had earlier, and to Mala, she concentrated on shifting, feeling her weight go to her two back legs.

When she was finally on her two legs, the shaggy creature opened her eyes, and looked back at her friends, now either below or even at her eye level. "Great," the creature managed to say. It had been quite a while since Malachi was in a pack where groups of wolves resided, and her heart beat anxiously in her large chest. It almost seemed like it was too much emotion to bear. She swiveled her head to look around, huffing into the late morning air, trying to see where Shaw and Skye would lead her first.

OOC: yeah we can start walking with skyes' post cause i'm lazy and have to go to work so i can't add it in Tongue

Skye had agreed though she gave no indication of where they should start, in fact asking him, he thought for a moment and smiled, they could start with where it started… well was started.

Well the tree sounds like a good place, and then Thornbury, I’m sure she’d love to see the valley too.

He said, naming the few places he, himself had enjoyed, there was other places ,but they had yet to be explored by him, though he had another good idea.

I even found this beautiful forest oasis that I can show the both of you after the tree.

He said smiling, though he wasn’t sure if Skye had already learned of it, he’d found it and in some ways he wanted to keep the oasis a secret, but that would have been cruel of him, and he was not a cruel man, nor was he one to keep something to himself that should be shared.
